That's what life looked like many years ago in Poland and the rest of Europe. Girls got married to someone who was chosen by parents . Rich with rich ,poor to poor. Sometimes pretty poor girls were married to rich old men if they wanted to.

Oh, that's sad. I heard that back in the day, arranged marriages were also common in the Philippines

,,In the original book Chłopi, the girl (her name was Jagna) was actually kind of antagonist. She was a free spirit, she had a lot of affairs, very artistic soul. She agreed to marry an older man because her mother wanted this. The man was good to her and loved her, but she end up cheating on him constantly (including with his own son). The story itself is quite complicated, very greyish (not only black and white) with a lot of characters.,,

This is a movie based on a Nobel Prize-winning novel. Władysław Reymont is the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature for his novel 'The Peasants - Chłopi'. This is the epic of Polish village life at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The film is shot using a unique technique. The authors transform the real film image into animation and add scenes like in an animated film. This movie was nominated for an Academy Award this year. The first film using this technique is Loving Vincent (2017)

It wasn't annimated, after they create a scenes with actors they hired artists to paint almost every scene basing on the records

The wedding was 100 years ago, but not much has changed to this day, the same madness. I wish you could go to a Polish country wedding once - it's madness, it's chill, it's food you won't taste anywhere else even in cities, and as much alcohol as you can stay on your feet - these weddings are crazy.

I agree! It''s a bit on the same note unfortunately, still great to dance to but maybe not for the Eurovision? 😅
The music video is a mix of scenes from the feature film "Peasants/Chłopi" - based on the Polish novel of the same name! "First the film was shot with the actors, and then more than a hundred painters painted oil paintings based on the shots, which became frames in the film". The same animation technique as in the film "Loving, Vincent" :D That was our Oscar nomination, but we didn't get in, haha.

Thank you, dear, for sharing your thoughts on this. I think the music video itself is amazing, but the song? I have second thoughts about it. Justyna and Krystian are , so far, my favorite ones. I might as well check out the other entries. I don't understand why there are so many entries this year. I have a headache. 😄😄❤️❤️
