Once every generation, a Broadway God is born. This decade is Ramin - looks, voice, acting he has it all! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't see any formal music or theatre training in his bio???? If this is correct, this makes his talent even more insane!!!
I totally agree with you. I really like his voice but I don’t like the accompaniment at all. I’d rather hear him sing it with orchestra. This is a little too folky and a little too blowing in the wind style for me.
Wow! Thanks Renee for uploading these, especially for fans like me in the UK! Ramin is simply the best! (Still can't believe I've seen him live and met him!!! Totally surreal!!!)
He definitely has the voice for the song but I would love to hear him sing with an orchestra and choir. I do love the celtic vibes I get from his version, though. (Minus the acoustic guitar lol)
John Owen-Jone's version was nice, but I think I prefer this stripped down version. Still, that last note was phenomenal! Thanks for reccomending it to me, I enjoyed it.
What I wouldn't give to hear him do a real version of this song, complete with full orchestra and choir. I personally have done a version of this song, and though I am no Ramin, I would love opinions and feedback on my cover, should anyone care to listen!
Allegedly he has no formal training & couldnt read music, bat oeast to start. That may help explain the passion that is so evident in his performances & that sets him apart from so many other excellent performers.
For a long time I thought Anthony Warlow had the best version of this, and Josh Groban's was horrible; I now think that Karimloo usurped Warlow's reign. Excellent version!
So sad to hear this type of cover from Ramin... Maybe cause I'm Russian and understand what kind of pain brings this song. And this happy ending is not what you are waiting to hear. The end must be so powerful of love to the motherland so knock down everybody who hear. And you understand why you are still here, why you tolerate corruption, injustice and cruelty in your country. Cause you are so proud of your motherland that you can't move to other cause they are not She.
I have to agree with most of the opinions. This song is best sung as it was written. Get rid of the guitar and back him up with full orchestra. Ramin Karmiloo has just the voice to sing it with the right amount of passion.
That violin is annoying the **** out of me. This song only needs a heartfelt vocal, no fancy trimmings. I adore Ramin, but so many of the YT posts of him singing the songs I most want to hear him do just miss the mark, despite his performance (well, the blame IS his in the Empty Chairs one with Hadley Fraser. I want to knock their heads together for corpsing, their singing was so beautiful until then. Annoyingly, I still can't help laughing too.) Songs I've never cared about, he does wonderfully!
This man is crazy beautiful.
Understatement of the melinium.
To see him in person and to hear him is to be in heaven
this chap could sing this accapella and I would be mesmerized.
love this version of Anthem. Ramin is so talented!
Watching again...he is SO amazing. What he does with a song....wow.
Unique and interesting arrangement, I like it! The simple guitar works as well as a full choir somehow, it seems more intimate really.

ramin is 45 years old
@@theoemanuelsson7465and what does this has to do with his skill?
After listening to a dozen different renditions of this with full orchestral scores, this is a terrific contrast.
I just love his voice. 😍 😍 😍 😍 Great singer and performer.
got here from Anthem in Japan 2020 - the power of this man’s voice
he is just perfection! is there any song that he can’t perform…i could listen to him everyday
Absolutely incredible, as always. Damn I'd travel round the world to see this guy play Anatoly.
Anatoliy.
I have listened to many versions of this song recently, but that one is absolutely stunning!
Magnificent!
as musch as i love his blues cover... i really want to hear him sing this with the original orchestra....
Well if you live near DC he’s going to play Anatoly in Chess in February.
So true - he bluegrasses everything in sight.

@@meganhart6549, Anatoliy.
I love this. A lot.
I loved this new arrangement!
This must mean alot to him considering his family left Iran when he was a baby. He still loves his country, but he can't go back.
If he left the country as a baby I doubt he misses Iran at all.
@@drwatsonca6945 Never forget, it might still live within him from his parent's tales.
WOW!!!
This is a wonderful song beautifully sung....
Beautiful
I can't wait to see him as Jean Valjean in Les Miz in Toronto latter part of this year!! Thanks for posting!
Amazing talent
This is beautiful...thanks for posting it. I've watched a few times now and will watch again and again. Ramin is brilliant as always.
I can't wait to see Ramin in January
Wow! Thanks Renee for uploading these, especially for fans like me in the UK! Ramin is simply the best! (Still can't believe I've seen him live and met him!!! Totally surreal!!!)
Epic!
Soooooo good!
Wow. THAT was nice!
Great voice 👍
Amazing. Song and singer🍀💚
When my feeling down, I always hear him sing. Because his voice completely blow my nerve off everytime.
💜 BEAUTIFUL , AMAZING 💜
🙏 NEVER STOP MAN , PLEASE 🙏
🎵💎🎵
Yes......full orchestra but I have to admit that I really enjoyed this version .
❤️❤️❤️
As so many have said I wish he'd sing this without the bluegrass arrangement. He'd be phenomenal with an orchestra and choir.
Thanks for posting such a beautiful version of a beautiful song.
He definitely has the voice for the song but I would love to hear him sing with an orchestra and choir. I do love the celtic vibes I get from his version, though. (Minus the acoustic guitar lol)
Wow great voice.
so beautiful
What an AWESOME arrangement
It's amazing how much he looks like Chris Sarandon in the '80s here.
I checked out other performances, he does a killer Jean Valjean in Les Miserable. His theatrical training shows in this clip. Hot.
Amazing! I sing this with my school.
I wonder if he thinks about Canada when he sings this
Thank you Renee...So wish I could have been there!
I love ramin karimloo xxxx followed hi
Ok we have a Iranian player. Let's change plot as 1980 Iran vs. US
❤️
I love Ramon singing bluegrass/broadgrass
Ramin
Carl, I watched your video...it is wonderful, as well!!
I cannot imagine Benny being pleased with this.
Great song....very interesting arrangement! The acoustic guitar is awkward though adequate, but Ramin's voice does it justice. Well done.
I love your voice Ramin - but my favorite for this song is Tommy Kórberg from Sweden.
thanks!!!! absolutely amazing!
Beautiful. I thought he was going to go for the high note at the end.....I was hoping
You should listen to John Owen-Jones' version, his end note is a 5th higher.
Lovely stuff.
John Owen-Jone's version was nice, but I think I prefer this stripped down version. Still, that last note was phenomenal! Thanks for reccomending it to me, I enjoyed it.
The only person who can pull off double denim :-)

It looks like you're gonna get that version! He's slated to sing the part of Anatoly in a new London revival of the musical next year.
He also played Anatoly at the Kennedy Center concert. There’s a vid here in RUclips.
What is he saying at the beginning?
Gwapo! Sarrap pa ng boses!
Kind of missing that high note at the end but I digress.
chesst! bwahahah! :)
Does anyone know the chords/strum pattern?
Anthem from CHEST lol I love it
there is nothing Ramin can't sing!...
He was trying to say that the song was called Anthem, from the musical Chess, but he said "Chest" instead, then he got all flustered....lol.
Timothy Welch l was just thinking the same thing
Will he be playing the part who sings this song on the new "Chess" production where he will be in soon?
GC Vlog101 Yes...Anatoly!
Michael ball beat him to it... if I’m thinking of the same production. Ball was sensational
Bruce Campbell does a great job.
I think Hugh Panaro's version is incredible, when he sings the first notes at the beginning I die.

The arrangement is supposed to be Broadway meets Bluegrass... which this does. It sounds even better when you're in the same room as him.
What did he say in 0:10? I think it was a kind of joke but I can't get it i_i because I'm not native i_i
Great singer. Hes always been a favorite if mine. Swing by my channel sometime and hear my cover and see what you think.
1 person with 43 accounts don't know what he's talking about
Chess...as done on Walton Mountain
Not even close.
Dead

An absolute disaster of an arrangement but who's listening?!!! actually the dude can sing.
gdam coughing >.
Although I love ramin so much and he sings beautifully but for me josh groban is the best ..ever ...there is no Anatoly but JOSH GROBAN ..
Try watching some clips with Tommy Körberg. The man the song was written for, he is my personal favorite.
+andreasson i agree with you. Tommy Körberg also it in English. Magnificent work
The possessive week fourthly sigh because close correspondingly lie notwithstanding a agonizing steven. abiding, tearful fireplace
Pls no
Stop playing your guitar just sing.okjoe.
Shame about that bloody coughing!!!!
JOSH GROBAN DOES IT BETTER .
Good, then go watch Josh Groban.
great voice...awful arrangement 0.53 sounds as if it's out of key while the acoustic chords at 2.44 are from the pub version...fails.
Better than Josh Groban, but not as good as Tommy Körberg.
love him. love the song. Not together. yikes.
