Do you shoot video with the full cage setup? If so, do you find it gets in the way of hitting the "record" button? I was about to get the top handle but I like this option with the monitor mounting on the side handle, as it leaves room for the trigger, to be able to do flash photography and video. Great video. thanks for sharing.
@@paulphillips5128 thanks! Appreciate the quick response. I shoot several events that include video and photo and just switched to Sony7iv. This was super helpful. Thanks again!
great video, Looking to get a cage and some grips for my a7iv. I have a question i usually shoot my videos in portrait mode for instagram reels, can you do a setup like that? having the handles on top and bottom? is that possible?
Sure, you can attach an arca swiss plate to the left side of the half cage but my small rig handle only fits on the top of the cage not the bottom. Screw holes are too close together on the bottom unfortunately. You might be better off with an L bracket for what you want. Cheers.
@@PTPhotoGearReviews cant you remove one of the screws or are they nonremovable!? I need one like on the top hotshoe and the other where the tripod hole is. So i can hold it in portrait mode and have smooth footage without gimbal.

That’s exactly why I went with the hat cage. The full cage got in the way of the buttons.

Hi sorry newbie here, is that an aftermarket eye cup? If so, what brand is it? It looks slim and smaller
