- Tried the new T10 USN DD on EU, and it's just as disgusting as I feared. A permanent long-range kiter that gets away with playing poorly because it has superheals. Even close range it's tough to take down for enemy DDs because of the high HP and ability to speedboost and heal.

Obviously recommend this ship because of its power, it's stupidly good. Horrendous for the game, but stupidly strong. Completely unnecessary as well, we really didn't this kind of ebola in the game but whatever.

Don't forget they told us about new US dd line, with their "new" smoke. What are the chances it's going to be Hull but with smoke+normal heal instead of superheal

They look like KV-3 Turrets from WoT.
The Hull's experimental 8in gun was mounted in the late 70s and was only on the front turret and was designed for shore bombardment with a lot of the WWII era heavy cruisers being phased out.
With this version I believe it makes this the most modern ship variant in the game.
While at least this ship is (partially) actually real its still wild that it was included in the game.
"Hull's eight-inch gun began firing tests in April 1975. These lasted into the following year, and were reportedly partially successful. Unfortunately, when the gun was fired as far to the rear as possible, the shock was too great and some strakes were broken. "

@@BumfluffAddlepate the project manager for the mk71 turret weighed in on the hull cracking story, and it's decidedly false- or at least, not attributable to the mk71 mount to begin with.
"When the ship modifications were being designed to permit installation of the Mark 71, special attention was given to the stresses that would result from the firing loads. Later, during the structural firing tests, the Ships Engineering Center installed several hundred strain gages in the bow of the ship. The data collected during these tests showed acceptable stress level in all locations.
When the Hull returned from her first WESTPAC deployment, I talked to the engineers doing the structure inspection. They told me that the cracks they found were no different from what was found in every ship of the class. They said the only difference was that the rate of cracking was slightly increased which was probably due the increased weight added to the bow by the Mark 71 installation.
It should be noted that all the ships built with aluminum superstructures experienced cracking. This problem is still haunting the Navy. Recently several of the CG-47 [Ticonderoga] class ships have had to be pulled from deployment in order to have their superstructures repaired."

EDIT- not saying that's what super elbing will be thats simply what makes the most sense to me. Although there was a study on the viability of putting a 170mm gun on a dd so WG could go for that.

When ever I watch you CCs in this game I am always amazed at how little the enemy shoots at you. When I go in the Hull I am singled out by every ship in range of me.

This shit reminds me of the old days. Stealth firing and torpedoes nothing anyone can do about it except to die. Here they can see you but they can’t kill you… might as well be stealth.
What's also dumb about this ship is I somehow managed to score couple of kills with torpedos in 20 games I played so far😅
The funny part is that he was so focused by the entire enemy team, still lives while doing terrible HE DPS, and the Shinano just farms everyone.
what a disgusting ship. This obviously needs a buff by adding Soviet radar, German hydro and US smoke + British smoke cooldown.
I have a theory. WG initially designed this destroyer with a citadel in mind. That way citadels are possible against it, seeing as that would be the only real counter. I'd wager WG wanted to put a citadel on it, but the game engine in its current state doesn't allow for that.
Gone are the days when we only had to worry about CVs and OP Soviet ships. Now it's powercreep after powercreep every week.
You might want to consider turning down the in-game sound volume a bit since you're hard to understand.

It's so bizarre seeing such a modern looking ship in the game.
This was actually a real steel ship in real life. They put that turrent (just one turrent on the front, not all 3) on an actual DD back in the day. So that's "why". The superheal was a bit much tho.
I'd say keep the heal but give it cruiser dispersion, because well...... cruiser guns.
They could've literally just made the historical version of this ship, with one 203mm and two 127mm turrets, normalize the shell velocity and reload, (and same shells; AP/HE for the 127mm aswell) give it a normal heal and call it a day.
But I guess that wouldnt be enough use for the turret-assets they paid some random on fiver $50 for, they just had to make another ahistorical abomination with a hundred gimmicks, thats both boring to play and annoying to play against. No suprise so many are switching to lesta..
This thing is easily countered by any DD with a smoke or smoke & hydro combo. I’ve been on both ends of that scenario. When countering a Hull get within his detect, make sure friendly ships can see him, shoot at him while smoking, he will shoot you back if it’s a bad player and then it’s free lunch for you sitting in smoke. A good DD player can counter play. A bad Hull player will not be paying attention and misplay.

I guess WG coding doesn't allow two different guns because I could have seen this being balanced with single 155mm like it had IRL and rest being 5inch.
Or just easier thing remove the superheal.
Different loading speeds, fire rates and ballistics. It would be a mess
Irl Hull had a single 203mm experimental gun, which the mount proved too heavy for the decks of that era. The class used the 127/54 gun.

@@Mthammere2010 Actually, hull was perfectly fine with the mount's weight and recoil. It was mostly that the benefits of the upsized gun were marginal compared to 5-inch shells with extended range, comparably

At least 3 starting heals like other nations would be good. Only 1 ship that shared this trait being Ragnar ( 2 base heals )
With this much high speed shell, CV ( now faster with everyone getting rocket booster ), HE that break all mobility and make you an easier target for the next shot, etc. going on. every DD should have some healing to fight that

design philosophy wise, it sort of has to be insane as an open water gunboat right? because the tradeoff is that it has zero utility aside from easy spotting because of the playstyle
To balance this this probably needs to be the only DD that you can citadel
So what's the balancing factor needed? Switching the superheal to a regular heal? Reducing the number of heals?

reduce reload rate, decrease shell velocity, and drop the superheal to a normal heal.

I just can't think of a Tier X gunboat DD that can regularly counter her. Khaba or Kleber in good hands - and it would still be a big maybe.
I don't think a kleber can outgunn this thing with the booster, the booster would run out before the HP of the Hulk would and if the Hulk disegnage well, it's back with a new ship.

Can Ragnar deal with Hull? I had some experiences againt Shermans in Ragnar and it was painful both ways - my large Ragnar was eating tons of SAP, but slow and big Sherman easily ate my 152mm shells too. Usually Sherman died first, but with Hull im not sure. Ragnar at least has super boost which can juke those slow shells with ease but Hull got a super heal... idk lol.
Hull out heals Ragnar and has much stronger AP that will arm on ragnar's hull with enhanced auto bounce.
the only way you win is if you catch hull nose on so she can only use one gun, otherwise it's pretty GG TBH

Hull will never out DPM any true DD gunboats. The thing with Hull is that you need to kill it in the first round of engagement. If you don't, then it'll heal up and come back to finish your low HP DD.
@@shatteredstar2149 Thing is Ragnar has DPM roughly equal to Yueyang ( 140k something ) but with better dispersion, So it appears to have better DPM because it actually hit something more than Yueyang
Ragnar have better shell ballistics, more accurate, comes with radar, 30% speed boost, lots of HP and a heal. Ragnar plays more like a mini colbert than a true DD. at the ebd of the days who gets the most team support wins the engagement. The right way to play Ragnar is usally shooting at long ranges with cruisers. Only way to win is either side make a mistake too so don't make one yourself.

Conquerer, Venezia, Mino and Goliath would be great counters, what a luck that most of these ships are irrelevant nowadays. So the only half reliable counter are DM and Sherman

These Turrets look so wrong on this ship! When they start to rotate at the begin of the battle, i was just like WTF Wargaming? If this would be a real DD one broadside and the whole ship do a barrel roll.

USS Hull is objectively inferior to Ragnar
After playing both ships for a while I have noticed Hull has great trouble doing much of anything during the game. If the enemy team has even remotely competent DD players it just gets thrown out the game and has to spend it's days far back trying to farm damage. The consumables are genuinely just bad. Ragnar has better dpm way better accuracy is a more nimble ship when needed thanks to a better speed boost is armored and can destroy dds thanks to radar. You trade all that potential for 2k hp per heal and the desmo guns but the dispersion feels insanely bad you can hit about 1 shell per salvo even at close range. For the same purpose kleber is also better than hull. F Sherman is also better thanks to smoke hydro combo. The amazing gun paper stats are severely degraded by the accuracy and Hull needs a small dispersion upgrade maybe in between regular dd and ragnar to make those guns shine.

So if some one doesn't have some gunship dd at lvl 10 (Marso, khaba, kleber) it`s better to buy Hull? What better to priority in buying from all of this ships? Why Buy french dd if some one can buy this - go in rank, fight vs dd for spot, kill and have heal`s than fight another one dd. 60k of health it`s like 2.5-3 dd health of 10 lvl.

i think the ship could be easily changed to a fun design. NOT A SUPERHEAL. give it 1 less heal like sherman has 1 less smoke. otherwise its a ship everyone has dreamt of.

Regarding the planes-
1-He doesn’t have immunity - they are skip bombers
2-he’s not even striking you and only at the edge of your long/medium range aa
3-you still killed 6 planes in roughly 10 seconds from the notoriously hard to shoot down Russian cv squadrons

One Word: Sevastopol. Sevastapol has 380mm guns with better pen and a super heal; nobody calls Sebastopol OP. Hull looks like an American Sovastopol in DD form.
Regarding other lines: some players are a little bit Nationalist; they don't play other lines. So havong a Marcequ'esq DD in an American line, for American captains is most welcome.
