- 41 migrants have been killed after a boat capsized off the coast of the Italian island of Lampedusa. More than 1,800 people have died this year alone, attempting to cross from North Africa to Europe.

I’ll never cease to be disgusted by the amount of people on the comments of these stories revelling in the deaths of people they have never even met let alone known.

that's the thing, the only thing theh know is that they were intentionally breaking the law and the consequences of them arriving successfully are awful. So i think people are not happy bc they die but bc they never made it and can't threaten them again since they're dead.
@@esser7678 What have these people done to “threaten” anyone in the UK? We never even met them, we never heard their stories, we never spoke a single word to those people before they drowned. You say the consequences of them arriving are “awful”, when Mo Farah was trafficked to the UK were the consequences of him arriving awful? How can you point at someone you never even met or knew and say with such certainty “that person is a threat to me and if they arrive in my country the consequences will be awful and so it is better that they die.” How on earth can anyone can even try to justify that without immediately resorting to the most base forms of prejudice and stereotyping is beyond me.
