Tories have three thoughts: punishing immigrants to look ‘tough’, cutting services to look ‘frugal’, lowering tax for the richest members of society-their actual only goal.

According to More in Common. Techne have a poll out today, with the same in field dates, putting the Tories on 19% and Labour on 46%. The issue is that we have a systematic error in the Tory poll numbers and have had for a while. I don’t think we can even trust the poll of polls here because Techne and More in Common are sampling different populations. I suspect there is some hidden assumption in the model of More in Common that is making it very hard for the Tory vote to drop below 25-30%.

The Tories have ceased to be interested in good governance since 2010. The sole concern of its leaders have been to keep the party from tearing itself apart and relying on the supine media to give the impression that they're actually governing.

51% think Keir Starmer represents change, 49% down. The last time he asked that question, it was the other way round. 41% thought he represented change, 59% didn’t.
Hilarious! A spoonerism, but with numbers! The other way round to 51-49 is 49-51, not 59-41!

The point is pensioners will be taxed on pensions because the tax free allowance is frozen until 2028. Anyone pulling a pension and voting tory is brain dead.

Maybe if Rishi focused on 'cost of living' instead of the Rwanda strategy and "Stop the boats" maybe things might have been different?
The Tories miscalculated and thought immigration would be THE issue. People care more about cost of living. Regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age... people are worried about cost of living. Attacking 'woke' won't solve anything. Culture wars won't get votes anymore.
