GAME 4 Preview:
A collective sigh of relief could be heard from the entire city of Chicago after Game 3 finally brought them a win in this hard-fought series against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Game 3 started much like the first two games, with both teams trading blows throughout the contest, but that all changed in the 4th quarter. The Bulls entered the period with a 5 point lead, but Chicago blew Philadelphia out of the water in the closing minutes of the game. The Bulls rattled off a 16 - 4 run over the final 3 minutes of regulation, powered by stifling defense, active hands in the passing lanes and on the ball, and transition shotmaking.
Edwin Kuminga finished with 29 points and 24 rebounds, but nobody else for the 76ers scored higher than 12 points, so it was a rough outing for Philadelphia in general. Sir Shved finished with 8 turnovers to go with his underwhelming 12 points on 6 / 16 shooting.
The Bulls pushed the pace and took all the deep shots they could find, finishing with 9 made threes as a team. Despite Pace Mannion and Richard Gill shooting poorly, the Bulls held on and outscored the 76ers by 18 when it was all over.
With the series now at 2 - 1, it's up to the Bulls to even the matchup in this crucial Game 4, otherwise the 76ers will head back to Philadelphia with a stranglehold of a 3 - 1 lead.
