@@Profanumx you can be Turk if you are yerli but your ancestors were Georgians. In the middle ages our part transformed into modern Georgians and other part into modern Turks. Thats why we look like each others.
@digmeli digmeli How do you know about my ancestors? We intermarried, thats why we share smilar DNA, but calling all the people who belong to the culture Georgians seems a bit disrespectful for me. I met dosens of people who tried to convince me that i was in fact Georgian in the beginning but they simply lack any evidence. There are Turks who accept they were georgians and they know georgian language too. But we do not. We are Turks. The focus here is that songs like Atabarı or Cilveloy are in Turkish and you know these songs in your own language. You automatically think, "Oh, they were one of us then, then they were forced into Turks". It doesn't have to be like this, there are songs sung in both Turkish and Slavic in the Balkans. The origin of these songs is unknown. Or even if they were originally sung in a language other than Turkish, when Turks sing them today, it does not make Turks belong to another race.

Muslim Georgians of high mountain valley of Shavsheti region who saved their language and is performed in local Georgian dialect. They just translated their songs into Turkish as North Caucasians translate sometimes their songs in Russian too but that doesn't mean those songs are Russian. Its easy to see difference between Slavic and North Caucasian or South Caucasian/Lesser Caucasian native and Turkish songs by their melody. Low Shavsheti people forgot their language mostly. But they are exactly the same in their antropological appearance, culture character with Imerkhevian and then other Georgians. Make dna test and find out who you are. If you turn out to be Turkish, then lets you be. But Meskheti local population was ancient paleo South Caucasians whose descendants are modern South Caucasian paleo peoples (Lazes, Megrelians, Svans, Georgians + Turkified Lazes (Karadenizli till Trapzon) and Artvin+Ardahan Turkified Georgians.
