    Can I connect to a uniden MHS126? We bought T605 set and can't get them to communicate?

    • @wsi_radios
      @wsi_radios  2 года назад +1

      The Uniden MHS126 is a marine band radio, which operates using VHF frequencies. The T605 is a consumer grade UHF. These are two different bands and cannot communicate with each other. You would need to purchase another "marine" radio in order for it to work with your Uniden. Hope this helps!

    We have about a dozen RDU4160d radios and need to set up an emergency channel. Facility emergencies not environmental emergencies) How can we do this?

    • @wsi_radios
      @wsi_radios  2 года назад +1

      Hi Jim,
      Great question! The RDU radios don't have an "Emergency" function with true override functionality, HOWEVER you can achieve something similar to this with auto scan turned on and designating one of your channels as a priority channel. This can be done in the customer programming software.

      @@wsi_radios Hi, I downloaded the customer programming software and designated Ch6 as the Emergency channel. I have Ch6 as the priority scan and have auto scan checked off. This did not help me set up the 'all scan' that I was trying to achieve. So I went in and set all 6 channels to auto scan (on a different radio). This allows all channels to hear each other but when someone is talking it broadcasts it across all channels at the same time. Which defeats the purpose of having 5 different channels. My ultimate goals is to have one channel that will cut across all channels to alert other radios that there is an emergency or that they all need to evacuate the building. Is something like that possible with multiple RDU4160d radios? Am I doing something incorrectly?

      @@JamesJimKays Great question, please make sure that you're editing your "scan list" to include ONLY the emergency channel as a member. This should do the trick. If you continue to have issues, please contact us and we'll help you out via sales@wirelessradios.com

      @@wsi_radios WOW! That makes perfect sense. We only use 5 channels (6 with Emergency/All Call) so I edited out channels 7-16. I will do as you suggest. 🤞You have been the only person that has had a response we wanted to hear. Our current vendor said "it's not possible" when asked if it could be done.

    Can the other person hear me if their walkie talkie is turned off? If not, how would I communicate to them to turn theirs on to hear my message?

      Most radios will not receive unless they're turned on. We do have a radio with voicemail available that could work for you, which uses wi-fi enhancements to achieve this. Would this interest you?

    Can this radio work with Motorola model RDN2070D?

    • @wsi_radios
      @wsi_radios  Год назад

      We're sorry, but this video doesn't cover any specific models. With that said, we believe you're asking about the RDM2070D, which is a radio made specifically for Wal-Mart. If that is what you're referring to, then the RMM2050 is a radio that we have that is compatible with this specific radio.

    I have a rdu4100 and would like to get another walkie talkie that’ll pair with it. So my question is how do I know it’ll work with the rdu4100? Any uhf radio will work?

    • @wsi_radios
      @wsi_radios  2 года назад

      Hi Vic,
      Yes, almost any UHF analog radio should be programmable to work with an RDU4100. Keep in mind that there are two different UHF bands, G6 (403-470 MHz) and G7 (450-512 MHz) so be sure to notate which frequencies your RDU4100 radios are programmed on to ensure compatibility.

    what about a fcc lic. do you need one

    • @wsi_radios
      @wsi_radios  3 года назад

      Great question. Our radios ship with business approved frequencies, and a license is not typically needed unless programming custom frequencies or transmitting at a higher wattage (above 5 watts). If you feel more comfortable, you can register with the FCC for usage with the factory frequency settings or register for custom frequencies.

      Yes that is correct, except Motorola's 900 MHz FHSS radios (DLR/DTR) are ALSO license free. We have edited our initial response to be a bit more descriptive... Thanks for pointing that out!

    One of the things that I haven't seen is radios with SIM cards actual radios actual radio that only have radio not a phone but then actually have SIM cards by Motorola cuz it's something I haven't seen yet and I wish to see them the clothes the near future why could that mean to the radio can work worldwide and can also work worldwide two individuals I should be able to speak to you why for one reason there's a SIM card in there it's called a mobile radio is called a mobile radio the problem is that that comes with a phone I want to see something that don't have a phone that's only the radio and that basically just has a SIM card with a few channels except either with a display or with an app or something like that and basically that radio would basically work worldwide why because it has a SIM card in it and once again it is not a cell phone it doesn't have a number pattern of any resemblance to a cell phone but that's what it is

      There are several phones with actual radios. Motorola made several of them up to around 2012. Remember the old Nextel and Boost Mobile phones that had PTT buttons? Well a lot of the ones made by Motorola had what they called Direct Talk, and the ones with Direct Talk had 900 MHZ radios and you could use them without service just like a walkie talkie. People still use them today as walkie talkies. The phones used a service network called IDEN, and IDEN no longer exist today, so you cannot use them as phones today, but they work as walkie talkies. Also, do not confuse Direct Talk wit Direct Connect. All the Direct Talk phones use Direct Connect to use as walkie talkies over the carrier, but only the Direct Connect phones made by Motorola had Direct Talk and can still be used today as walkie talkies without phone service. You can find list of all the Direct Talk Motorola phones that can be used as walkie talkies, and you can get them used. Some are flip phones, some are candybar phones, a couple look like actual walkie talkies, and one of the last Motorola Direct Talk phones was the first and only Android phone that did not have a touch screen. It is called the Motorola i886. So today you can have an android phone with slide out keyboard, that is also a 900 mhz walkie talkie, but again, they have no way of having service today, but you do not need service to use Direct Talk phones as walkie talkies.
