- In Power Book 2 Ghost Season 4, alliances were always going to chop and change. After the betrayal from the Tejada's and Effie last season, it was always hard to see Tariq working with Effie again, however, this is Power and I did always maintain, I would not be surprised to see them working together to achieve a common goal at some point in Power Ghost Season 4 and that looks like it's the case going into Power Book 2 Ghost Episode 3. Tariq will be working with Effie who will help him get an in at the fight club, which is run by someone called Zion. In this breakdown, I run through all the key details, as well as a few parallels and connections we need to keep in mind going into Ghost Season 4 Episode 3.

Tariq letting Brayden know that he’s going to be working for Effie again just to keep his enemy close shows his loyalty to Brayden because he could have kept that to himself letting him find out last minute. Brayden is making a decision to be apart of the game with Tariq so of course he’s going to follow behind the one person who hasn’t turned his back on his since they first met. Tariq is playing chess in his own way to get back on top just like how Kanan showed him in the past. Plus we’ve seen ghost do the same thing in book 1 so I’m not surprised.
Tariq working with Effie is similar to Ghost and Tasha working together to set up Kanan with out Tommy knowing.
Ghost could trust Tasha back then

Ghost never had to keep his enemies close because he always saw his enemies coming after him, maybe that’s something Tariq has to learn.
Ghost never saw Kanan, Milan or Dre coming after him till it was too late and when he did, he kept all of them close till he had a plan in motion to get rid of all them.
@@MaxZino45 He knew Kanan, that why Kanan when to jail for 10 years, he never trusted Milan and he tried to take Dre off the streets to give him a chance to raise his daughter.

Zion will be fighting Cane in the cage. Zion could be dangerous as Milan as Tariq new connect. Pinky could move product for Tariq to keep everything unnoticed from Noma.
Tariq cares about Brayden a lot, but remember Tariq’s back is always against the wall causing him to do shady stuff to survive. Tariq has always kept Brayden in the dark about certain things feeling like he didn’t “need to know” until he finally lets him in on the details later. Brayden hasn’t always been honest with Tariq either like when he let Effie kidnap Lauren from him and didn’t tell him. Don’t forget Brayden also secretly sold drugs & hit licks with Cane behind Tariq’s back, knowing that Cane was out to get Tariq. Brayden also helped cane hide Detective Ramirez body and then allowed Cane in their dorm room where Cane planted Ramirez’s badge and got Tariq locked up for murder. (eventho Brayden agreed to stay away from Cane) Nobody is perfect, but Tariq & Brayden have had eachothers backs more than anybody else on the show whether right or wrong.

Effie is not going to make it to Stanford, she's gonna get arrested after being framed by Tariq and this is only gonna happen after Tariq ascends in the drug game, this will be payback for all the times Effie backstabbed Tariq, mark my words.

I don’t believe he just forgave Effie. Tariq most likely wants leverage. Ghost was great for having leverage on everyone, otherwise he’ll just ruin their lives if they attempt a move against him. Just like Tariq is doing with Dru, Diana and eventually Effie.

Breakdown on point as usual
This is very much a lesson for Tariq to get an adult perspective as to why his Father made moves the way he did. Tariq often called Ghost selfish & that his moves were only for himself. Now, Tariq is learning first hand what it takes to be the biggest damn drug dealer in NY, while protecting his family at the same time. Later, he'll have a better view of his Father as a man, once he himself has fully become one.

Tariq’s “Third Way”
Courtney Kemp in her interview of the future of Power Universe stated after season 4 …..the show would shift in a direction where Tariq would have a woman making him choose a new life.
Anya Covington it seems to be Tariq’s “Third Way” .
Anyone who has been in relationships understands sometimes the past is convenient, the present has no growth… then to move forward you need someone new who makes you grow and no fall into the same cycle.
If you paying attention to Ep.1 in the SUV and her conversation with Norma, the writers are taking Norma’s daughter from naive to full awareness in the season. She will have the most in common with Tariq. And I speculate Diana’s child is not Tariq’s but, She will use Tariq to not have to deal with Salaam. Most fans should know they are using a common theme of secrets of the child. Tommy and his father, Kanan and his father, possibly Kanan and Shawn.

The Wire makes Power Book look like a damn soap opera. The ending episode of last season spells betrayal, vengeance, and some people getting took out. Now you have Riq working with Effie who not only set him up but fired shots at him. Effie would be decomposing in a vacant building if this were The Wire. LMFAO!!! This is horrible screen writing.
