Adam...I have been following your RUclips channel about 6+ years. I wanted to take the time to let you know that you are among the very few "rocks" of landscape YT content creators that have lasted and continue to create. I watch nearly all of your vids, unless one gets by while I'm busy with life, and comment on perhaps 5% of them, (admittedly, not nearly enough for the amount of free content you're putting out). You, sir, are a pillar of the community. You matter! I've heard you say that trolls and negativity can weigh down on you. You have to ignore that. There is nothing bad about the content you post. Your integrity is top notch. You give back so much via YT for free. Keep on keeping on. I truly hope the amount of effort you have put in over the years has generated fulfillment and success in your life. I try to "like" every vid of yours I watch the moment it begins to play, because I support you and don't want to forget to "like" while being captivated. I follow about 50+ landscape RUclipsrs, and you are in my top 5 of the most unselfish and giving of YT creators. Adam, thank you for all you do. I highly appreciate it.
So well said Ryan...I echo every word you have mentioned....Adam's YT is one of the best, and I try to make time to watch & fav ...just like Adam's openness, sharing the human experience of capturing reflections of reality & existence we witness on this beautiful Earth...
I often think about what lengths we push ourselves to in order to make our photographs. Or, if those who view and enjoy them realize the efforts it takes to capture these amazing scenes. As landscape/woodland photographers, we accept the physical challenges and even the occasional danger as part of our craft. But I often realize that others may never know what it took to make the images they enjoy.
The message in this video is priceless information! These experiences are life changing! As a fisherman I always said: “Catching fish is a Bonus!” Now, as a photographer I say: “Getting a great photo is a Bonus!” It’s really all about the journey! Thanks for taking me along!
It is not always "just the photograph", but the stories behind getting that photograph. I soooo enjoy your channel and your adventures because I can so quickly identify with all of your unedited and real emotions from going on a shoot! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Please do not ever stop making these! Cheers!
You made all the right decisions! It was a long time ago but while I was watching a football game the storm came the lightening flashed and most of the players were knocked off their feet and fell flat on the ground, one player did not make it he died the next day it was a direct hit! yes I am scared of lightening too! This video can be a warning to others who stand there with a camera on a tripod waiting for something to happen! Your enthusiasm for photography and advice is second to none, thank you for the advice and I hope you have dried out by now and your cameras survived all that water! There's always another day, god willing!
such beauty in nature and truth in your words, be it in nature or the streets during weather or rain with my camera is always such bliss and joy to my inner being
Just started watching, Adam, and had to pause for a minute. Gotta say: mate, you’re looking great! Fit!! And Medusa - what an incredible tree. I still have very strong memories of your past video. I was so moved by it, I knew immediately that you were a man of immense depth and substance.
Medusa, most magnificent tree ! Sorry about your back issues I feel your pain Fractured my L4& L5 . Glad you are up and about..Thanks for sharing too bad about the rain .
Thanks from Ottawa Canada. I find it hard to imagine living in the UK. So much rain. That would do me in. Here in Canada... It may be -30 in winter but it is often sunny, no wind and just amazing to be out in. There's a lot more sunshine here. Anyhow. Thanks for your videos. I enjoy them.
Oh Rick, that’s the beauty of it all; Lots of great Photographers (Adam, 😊Thomas, Henry… ) and beautiful Scenery. Even being a US Military Vet, things get much worse, I might just move to the UK! I have to add, lot of fine people up in the “Great White North!” Take care Peace
Fun getting out with you. I hope your recovery from your back goes well. I'm nursing a knee surgery right now (but can already ride my bike and hike) so I know the feeling.
I'm glad to see your priorities and good sense are in order. No need to risk your life for photography! Hope your back continues to improve and thank you so much for the videos. Your photographs are nothing short of inspiring -- for me and a whole lot of other people too.
Living out in the tropics lightning is a very regular occurrence and quite mesmerising to watch. Even though it seems normal I always remember to treat it with utmost respect. I have had strikes crazily close to the house and the noise of lightning is quite astonishing to hear. Nothing though can prepare you for the occasional thunderbolt, those are so loud and violent.
Enjoy watching your channel, I look forward to monsoon season here in SE AZ. Love to photograph storms & lightning. Storms have it all, beauty, drama, peaceful sound of rain & thunder. Some of the best sunsets are after a storm.
When I was growing up, my dad used to take me out hill climbing. When conditions or the route became sketchy, he would say something that’s always stuck with me - discretion is the better part of valour - and we’d either take a different route or get down off the hill. This video really brought those memories back, and you’re dead right - those memories never leave. Thanks Adam.
Nice one Adam, some lovely images and a great message. We don't often get much rain where I am but when we do there is a risk of flash floods so I have had to make a strategic retreat a few times.
Oh, WOW! I don't know you beyond watching, enjoying and taking a degree of inspiration from, your videos here on RUclips. I have a huge amount of appreciation and respect for what you do because you talk about mental health, and well being, and how photography can help us, and we can help each other. It's one of the reasons I keep coming back to watch these uploads and follow you on Vero. I felt every ounce of your discomfort on this sopping wet outing And, while not a fan of being out in rain such as that seen here, if I could have been there to share the experience, and offer some comfort to a fellow human being, I'd have gladly endured that ruddy awful rain (and possibly caught some nice images too) just to have maybe made things a bit less miserable while you went through it. Keep making these videos and sharing knowledge Adam, and we will keep coming back. You give us so much
Thanks for sharing your adventures, I always appreciate the effort you put into your craft. I really liked the bluebell picture in front of the Medusa oak. Thanks again!
Your commentary in the latter half of this video was very moving, emotional, yet connects us all to how helpless we can become in certain situations, this has been a really good video to watch and experience, and that I thank you for so much. Regards Rob.
@@FirstmanphotographyYeh, it's amazing how inspiration appears from seemingly nowhere, and how unaware we are/can be of inspiration's arrival, photography does this to us somehow, as you say perseverence driven by need pushes us into finding that shutter button moment. What a beautiful video, Adam. Loved everything about it. And the images are stunning. Many years ago, I was riding with the Victorian Police Motorcycle Riders’ Association off-road between Mt Buller and Falls Creek. It was extremely tough, and perilously wet. Sometimes we had to physically drag each others’ motorcycles up the hills. At one point, I’d lost touch with the group, and found myself riding INSIDE a thunderstorm - in the cloud itself - with lightning going off everywhere. I could literally feel and taste the electricity. Between wondering if I’d be struck, and dodging huge wild mountain cattle, I don’t think I’d ever felt more alive. The shower at the end of those ten rain and mud-soaked hours was incredible. Nature sure is is awe inspiring.
Superb Thumbnail and bonkers video. I really love a thunderstorm, but something I need to remember, is photography and making a video worth the 50 50 chance in life lol. I really enjoyed the video Adam, fondness and a pure sense of achievement 👍
Been watching you since i bought my first canon dslr (about 5 years ago) -I’ve now moved to Sony mirrorless , but hell I don’t know what happened to the algorithm but I’ve missed just listening to you in your videos. Really grounding . Cheers Adam 👍
No need to play with lightning... I was just this afternoon on the "Sam's Throne" trail (near Jasper Arkansas) with friends hoping for a sunset shot, but a local thunderstorm had other ideas. Lightning, thunder and eventually rain. We headed for the car. Better safe than sorry, but unless weather prevents I'll go back in a couple of days.
Just sitting in nature and enjoying the sound of the rain and the thunder all alone - sound bliss mate, if a little scary. Another great video mate, love the way you wear your heart on your sleeve and how you express your thoughts and feelings. Fantastic 😊👍
@@Firstmanphotography You're Welcome Adam. Good job on getting that shot with the Bluebells! Makes my ole’ back and knees ache just thinking of getting down on the ground like that! 😯🙄 Cheers!

Great story about your struggle with mother nature and amazing picture of that tree! I wonder how much easier it would be for you to shoot this with a camera with movable screen.
I really enjoyed this video. I have shared experiences with you. While rotavating the garden in my new house in 1999, I had an accident from my incompetence with machinery, resulting in 4 prolapsed lumbar discs and 3 cervical (neck) discs. The injury to my neck was really concerning. The damage was too severe and 2 neurosurgeons said the risk from surgery was too great to operate. 7 years later the continuing problems with my lumbar and cervical spine contributed to a serious fall on the descent to Saltwick Bay, resulting in another neck injury. My mobility continues to be limited, although I still walk as far as possible, but anything over 4 miles just becomes bloody unpleasant. 2010 I had just returned to my car from stopping to photograph a storm from the side of the road, about 2 seconds after closing the door my car was struck by lightning. It broke the nearside headlight, but it could have been much worse if it was 3 seconds earlier! The latin motto of the fly fishing club translates to "there's more to fishing than catching fish", the same can be said for landscape photography. Being out in nature is always a bonus, even when it's trying to kill us. I hope your back doesn't restrict you too much .

As many of your subscribers mention your videos are inspirational and I am very proud of you and wouldn't want you to do anything differently - but!!!!!
🤣
I hope you have What3Words'd the tree now!
Ha. It's definitely logged now.
You're right to not share the location. I greatly appreciate keeping such rare treasures safe. Cheers!
