NOTES/CORRECTIONS
1.) To be clear (and correct because that was totally delivered wrong), I did NOT mean to say Doja cat started her career from 0 with MOO. She'd been making music for a long time. MOO was the beginning of the formula that proved to work for her in terms of gaining exposure. It put her on that metaphorical pop/pop-rap highway.
2.) Not sure why people are viewing this comparison as a negative thing. Doja can take a page out of Nicki's playbook and it be smart? No one's saying that's a bad thing? No disses were made in this video.
She's been doing poprap even on SoundCloud and nicki didn't make poprap other female rappers have took the poprap root before

Doja did NOT start off making songs like moo her earliest songs were a fusion of hip hop and r&b. They were weird but in a good way so distinct would be a better word Ig bc she stuck out. She was just not popular back then.
I’ve been a doja and nicki fan for a very long time and I honestly would’ve never knew that doja copies nicki. They both sound very different and distinct in their own ways. Doja respects nicki way too much and she even gives nicki credit for being her biggest inspiration. It’s always somebody trying to pin artists against each other.
I think "copying" worked out to be good clickbait, but imitation is flattery! There is absolutely nothing wrong with seeing a good plan out there, and executing it for yourself. They're both great!

@@leoncervantes4276she didn't start calling herself the queen of rap out of the blue, she really had every single big music blog calling her that BEFORE her debut album came out, she smashed the game and changed it forever, just take a look at most new gen female rappers, even the ones who claim to hate her have been her fans for a while (latto and cardi b for example). so yeah, she really IS the queen.

You know damn well she didn't have any competition for years, she was waay too comfortable giving weak ass collabs here and there until Cardi became popular. And then her 2018 album fiasco happened. Nicki even felt the need to blame it on a baby for her failures.

Idk why I hadn’t previously thought on Nicki using pop to get to the top. I guess because she always seemed to enjoy it somehow? Like being loyal to hip hop wasn’t a concern, just the money. I think Doja expresses herself more effectively than Nicki as Nicki can’t really sing and doesn’t have a strong artistic inclination. I’ve mostly ignored Doja all these years but was pleasantly surprised with her creative expression. Conversely, I think we’re all dumbfounded now with what she’s done with her clout. I’ve not been impressed with her newer songs… I wonder how this will all end…
