Aw we're in Lancashire. We love the North East coastline, and visit every year in October. We have dogs who love the beach. We love beach combing for drift wood, and sea glass, which is common on your coastline. Debbie, your hair looks lovely. 😊
Some beautiful beaches to visit here, I was brought up going to most of them for our family holidays so hold fond memories ☺️ and I love them better in the winter months where there’s few people around ☺️👍
Hi guys my dad fought me years ago collect seaweed give quick wash in collected rain water then add to compost been BRILLIANT Accelerator really works well chop into small pieces your compost will be fantastic and anything you grow in it will really benefit. I’ve been doing it for years.
I was initially going to collect it for the compost but then seen an article to soak it in a bucket of water for minimum of 8 weeks then use it diluted in water as a fertiliser, I used half of what I collected soaked in water and the rest I’m going to put in my compost ☺️🙏
Nip to Roker beach, just down from Morrisons theres a storm wall there, it traps loads. I never wash mine, been told as the sea salt is natural its another mineral added. Not sure if thats right like.
Seaweed is excellent and I am after a load this week. You might find its better to collect from rocky areas rather than sand as weed washes up more there. Kelp is better for quick rotting, Bladderwrack rots down much much slower. The rules are that you are only allowed with landowners permission, but I worked on the fact of "what harm am I doing and who is really going to complain" In fact we are doing good as seaweed in water makes Methane whereas in compost it makes Co2.

Be sure to give the seaweed a good wash before putting in the bucket to remove any salts!
I washed it about 3 times before soaking it ☺️👍
I live on the North West coast near Blackpool I never thought of getting seaweed for fertiliser I’ll have a look after the big storm 😢
It saves buying it and if you get fish and chips too then it’s a win win ☺️👍
