Wow 😳 so many memories. My uncle was a professional player and road player. I've either met, played or known some of the best players to ever play the game. I even remember going to this tournament one year with my uncle but i was so small I don't remember how things turned out. The older I get the more nostalgic i get. Gr8 clip sir
Great video. I remember Stan Fimple playing soft breaks in the BCA Nationals in the eighties. When he played the first soft break in the final match, the crowd booed him including me. He gave us all the finger and went on to take first place. The best times in my life. 🤑🤑🤑
I absolutely love these types of videos you’ve done . I am familiar with plenty of these names but this is a journey through the actual history that they’re a part of . Absolutely amazing man , thank you 🙏
Excellent- I live in Dave Matlock country here in Kansas City. shooters in Olathe Ks, has had some high end tournies over the years so I’ve been lucky enough to see some of the best of the best. Thank you for this video !
Wow this video brought back a lot of memories. I would sometimes during the summer travel with my uncle (r.i.p.) who was a shortstop. I remember meeting several of these players as a youngster
1983…Classic Cup…Joliet…was it ‘86? Those days…forever in my mind…can never be repeated or properly told…life and pool was special…if you lived a pool life then it was…no words can describe…
One of my great friends played very very strong back then too in the 80s.. he was from the south.. he name is Buster Merchant.. super strong player back then also
those days of the early 80’s l’ll never forget...Classic Cup...pheasant run...Martin Scorsese getting extras in Joliet for his movie...Efren was a Mexican with a 6’9’’ black bodyguard who was covered with a mink coat from head to toe...my god l miss those days...pool was a LIFESTYLE
Awesome video, it brought back lots of memories, as I either knew, or played, or at least I got to watch many of those guys. I used to live for pool, but back in those years especially. Those were special times, and we had some very special talents in those days.
Bar box pool then was harder than it is now. Now with the small cue balls and fast cloth it seems easy but then with that Slow cloth and that damn soft ball size cue ball made it a tough game. Lol you had to have a stroke to get that thing around.
I grew up playing in StLouis in the 80s I could walk in the pool room and see Louie Robert’s ,Rich Sager ,Larry Hubbard, Watch Matlock a lot, there was a ton of good players in StLouis in the 80s Little Ricky Van um could play with any of these guys at any given time. The good old days
I’m 43 from Saint Louis and always loved watching Rich play!
61 years young here. This brings back memories of some great players. Awesome video, thanks!
