@Oearth I've had the game installed for a few years now and played a little bit, maybe 15 hours total. I just started a new singleplayer and tried making a mining rover. It worked until clang and my hinges decided to make a child by flinging my miner all over and slamming it into my base. Luckily it only destroyed part of my drop pod, and one of my drills. I had to detach the hinges before more damage was caused. So in the morning I'll make one a little further away and test it lol. My main goal is to either make a giant driving base, or a hidden mountain base. Most likely a giant driving one.
Let me know how the build is coming along! This Friday you get another update on the mountain base, and get to see the hangar door which might give you some Klang-avoiding ideas. Good Luck and keep me posted! :D
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there, just watch that Bandit run! Keep your foot hard on the pedal. Son, never mind them brakes. Let it all hang out 'cause we got a run to make. The boys are thirsty in Atlanta, and there's beer in Texarkana, and we'll bring it back no matter what it takes. I could go on, but you get my drift. 😊
That rock spike, had the same problem with a small miner I made back in the day. The solution was to change from an X pattern to a + pattern for the drills. having alternating drill rolls adjacent diagonally resolved the issue while drilling a larger area in less time.
The merge block was a good attempt. I use a mag plate and battery on the side of my drills, and put a few blocks near it that are imbedded in the surface. 👍
The hinges are great! I almost always use them instead of rotor unless I need something spin completely in a circle - they're pretty stable. You can also set the 'Share Inertial Damping' on a series of grids (pistons, hinges) except for the first grid in the series and it really decreases the wobbliness.
@@Oearth doesnt the share inertial dampening only work in single player? Or do you have to select multiple ones to get it to show up? While im asking would a gyro also help with the wobleness? would a gyro help more? Thanks much. I came back after 9 years to the game thrilled we had all this stuff that actually worked and now my miner is basically just a bit long conveyer with drills on the end.
talks about survival kits and basic assemblers and using stone later talks about building many large cargo containers no mention of all the cobalt that'd take or where it was procured down vote
It's in the video titled Space Engineers Episode 0. The episode before this one gives news about the start of both this piracy server (and an ECO server), and shows the building of the miner, going to the planet, "pirating" the metal grids (a.k.a cobalt) from player Jorimoni, etc. True that episode 0 was a little weird as a mashup of server news, but it's positioned first in this playlist to try to help orient people. Sorry if you got confused about the origin of the series - but the confusion is on me.
Working through a problem and testing theories is the best part of this game. And that moment, when you figure it out, elation.
Absolutely!! I sometimes have to spend a couple days on a concept, but it’s very satisfying to get things working the way you want it!

@@Oearth Is the miner that you started with in the workshop or server starter only?

the middle of the X and + was a cockpit so the rock spike had been coming for my face.
5:25 no, you use a Rotor instead of hinge, set the angle limits anyway you want, then just use a single Button with 'Reverse speed'.

hey buddy are the hinges less wobbly than the rotor?

Great video thxs ✌️❤️🙏
You are so welcome!
does any one know who owns the jennings sever
Ep0?
Yes - It was a little of a mixed bag content where I introduced this mini-series, and you get to see my initial "acquisitions".
@@Oearth ok, i couldn't find it : / loved the other two episodes though! Keep up the good videos please
@chaoscowrhn It was part of this one. ruclips.net/video/qznzdKn9pMs/видео.html Sorry, I had meant to link it for you!

You put some strange emphasis on random words.
