It was so great growing up as a little kid and a teenager well into my 20s watching these masterful professionals play at venues such as Bridgeport, Milford, when the season was done up north going back down south to Dania in Miami. There was nothing like it. Going from Long Island to Connecticut for a matinee having a few beers, some hot pretzels, and watching one of the best sports ever be played was my definition of a great day. Very sad when the day tournament that Bridgeport closed then Milford the only way I can watch it is if I want to South Florida. the players back, then were the best from that time to now, bolivar, Warrior and Steve, Joey, Celia, Mendy. I love you all. Miss you. I wish the sport can come back in full force, cousin Joey. I love you.

Bridgeport, CT And Milford, CT Had Some Great Rosters In The 70’s And 80’s!

Nobody gathered the spot light like Juaristi...they called him Hollywood. He played to the crowd and was loved so much. I had fake I'd and got into bridgeport n mikford in late 70s early 80s. Watched zulaica n boniguen defeat remen urgquiga partido at milford. Boniguen caught everything. Didn't get to see churucca...heard he was great. Guisasola bridheport would miss the ball and do a fk u with cesta and arm to the front wall.

    Nothing like Jai Alai.
Best sport to play by a 1000 miles.
I would be texting for an hour trying to explain all the intricacies of this great sport.
I'm glad I was able to watch from 70s on those superstars.

PS, going this Thursday to Danielle for a night session just to watch some of these players, it has been two years since I’ve been there last. Way too long, but I know it won’t be the same. See you guys Thursday at seven so damn excited.

I would even entertain investing in this great public sport with some of the greatest players, if we could bring it back

Boy, I wish jai alai was the same as it was back in the 70s 80s and 90s. Truly one of the most exciting sports and live betting to become public. I have played the sport I have family that are professionals. There is absolutely nothing like it now only in Dania And Miami where are used to hold thousands and thousands of people on any given night, at Dania jai alai the maximum is 75 people very sad what happened to the sport? I wish it would come back in full force, Joey and bolivar, Zabala, Jusristi, and so many more that I want to mention, but we will be here all night. I wish they could bring this fort back in full force, low pili for now back then and forever.

    3) Galla/Mendi II (Orlando)
    4) Napa/Beltran (Daytona)
    5) Arra II/Carea (Tampa)
    6) Bolivar/Felix (Palm Beach)

It was always going to be those 4. Orlando and Daytona were just there to make it 6.

Assine comment. You make it sound like Galla and Mendi are chopped liver. Both played at several frontons in addition to Orlando and were elite stars. Just watch the points in the video. @@frankpinmtl

      @@shanedavis3637 Sigh...
There is elite - then there is elite. You wanna say they're as top shelf as the others - sure, that's your opinion. Jeez - Joey wasn't even there. Neither was Miami's Arra. Cachin. Elorduy.
If there was a list made of the top players in the world, at the time - where do you think Galla/Mendi II & Napa/Beltran would appear?
Maybe they were great for non-Miami/Dania/Tampa/WPB (when Boli/Felix were representing them) but...be realistic.
