Running FCAW .035 wire with the tension at 3 1/2 it started making build up at the drive roll. Making my wire flat and not push anymore. I just learned about the drive roll for FCAW wire that has ridges and grips the wire better. So I don't know what I am doing wrong but I am having trouble with the feed.
Hi. Maybe inside of your welder you have the small steel wheel on .25 instead of .035. You have to uncrew the black plastic knob and flip the small wheel where the .035 face to you.
Thank god there was no demo on the fluxcore portion lol that wire sucks and snaps easy. Just got this welder today and I’d say the thing runs like a champ
Is there a way to get this box to run hotter or stronger?. I was on a job in Pennsylvania and these electricians hooked this little Miller stick box up it was pushing 1/8th rides like nuttin with some thicker wire and gauge I believe it was awesome. Also it was ran off a generator. so how can you make that happen if it's possible? Does anyone know? Thanks
You'd have to have a large generator to run most any welder and no this machine has set capabilities. It's a multiprocessing machine which limits each process to certain parameters.
From thoroughly reading the specs, no. This is DC only. The only way to weld aluminum is with a spool gun MIG. I have never done this before, so cannot give any information about this process.
@@cobes11 you are right, this is a DC only machine. When welding with aluminum you need AC current for the "cleaning effect". Mig welding aluminum with a spool gun also requires a significant amount of prep acetone etching etc. It's works and is effective faster then tig but requires prep and doesn't look as pretty.

The TiG is just lift start and not that great. For $750, even from Lincoln, it should come with it. I've had mine over a year and put many 2 lb spools through it. Welds smooth for an inverter. Best 120V machine on the market hands down. I tried Eastwood, Everlast, HTP. This is better.
I prefer HF tig in general, lift start has its place in areas with frequency issues. I agree it should come with it for the price. I cant see myself utilizing it with this machine so much as I mentioned. All in all great machine runs super smooth and I couldn't be happier for my mobile jobs its fantastic. Can you run this off an extension cord?
You can id suggest getting one that's rated for 20amps meaning a thicker cord is always better 👌
Every time I try this my roll of flux unrolls it’s a smaller one like you used in the video
Set a little tension on it and don't let go of the wire.
there's a white spacer you need you'll see included. it happened to me also, i lost half the roll before i found it last night lol.

Argon, is cleaner. Flux core, leaves more residue, but is more practical, you don't have to carry a tank with uou
Thx for the tutorial

Can you not just let the tensioner off and hand rewind the wire back on to the spool, or is it not worth worrying about?
It's such a minimal amount of wire and re winding it may cause feed issues. It's not worth worrying about IMO.
