This park is in my top 5 bucket list parks in the world. LOVE the history and nostalgia. You're both smashing it on this trip. Denmark really knows how to compliment its natural surroundings.
Honestly, this was the best surprise while I lie sick at home. This is my home park, and I almost started crying when you said how much you loved Rutschebanen! 😅
Dang get well soon!! But wow that's fortunate for a Danish theme park vlog to drop right on time! I also just wanted to mention that I'm going to Tivoli April 21st and I am really excited to try Rutschebanen! And my first drop tower :)
This is going down as one of my favorite series of videos you both have done ever! Farup and Tivoli are beautifully different and have already made a place in my heart. Thank you for the wonderful content and inspiration.
Charolette's laugh is pure happiness! It's a pleasure to hear! There's something, extra special, when you guys explore new things. I still think about the one where you guys operated the rides, yourself! Thank you for bringing us along, on your adventures!
Yup. Whats funny is that Copenhagen's Tivoli Gardens originally started out as a copycat of a similar attraction in Paris, but the one in Paris closed over a century ago, while Copenhagen's Tivoli is well... still around in all its glory. The closest Paris has to Tivoli now is that small amusement park with the Gerstlauer Bobsled coaster and the steampunk theming... Man city centre parks love their steampunk don't they?
True. Though I personally found the old breakdancer before it to be more enjoyable as a ride. That one especially was very fast and had a lot of whip to it. The new ride isn't as fast or as whippy but the spinning via the new angle definitely makes it more nauseating. Not to mention its probably the ride that has the most downtime out of any in the park, Like I haven't even seen Vertigo break down as much as I've seen for this ride.
Such a lovely & small but great theme park. And Copenhagen looks really nice in general as well. The park is also very well themed & very clean which is a big thumbs up for me.
I love when an older vlog I haven't seen appears in my queue. I know of Tivoli, but haven't seen much of it. This vlog is great, I would so love to ride the scenic railway. I've never had the chance to ride one like that with the on board brakeman, but from videos I've seen, this looked the wildest of them all. Also loved the park at night, so many lights everywhere!
Ones I was in Tivoli Garden, the one that was braking in the Rutchebanen was having a race taking time. Who could come around the fastest. It just got wilder and wilder, so me and my friends just ride it again and again.
I love this theme park it's so beautiful! I highly recommend going at Halloween, it's incredible. You can feel and see where Walt Disney got his inspiration.
@@ThemeParkWorldwide Definitely. Also fun fact, during halloween they turn the Fun house into a scaremaze! But yeah Tivoli during Halloween and christmas is incredible. Especially as the whole central field always gets decked out with brand new themed buildings, stalls and rides. Like for Halloween they almost always have a big old haunted mill in the middle of the park, and for a few years they had a railway themed christmas event with train carriage stalls, a mini drop tower with railway decorations on and a central station building with lots of stalls and a train driver simulator! Heck, that wave swinger used to be one of those rides that would be temporary and would be brought in just for Halloween and Christmas. Same goes for one of the caroussels but ever since 2020 they've both stuck around as permanent additions.
The old city center amusement park is not used anymore since the Second World War. Most of the rides were scrapped for steel and any material the government could get. Only Coney Island managed to stay intact. Japan around Tokyo and Osaka have the rooftop amusement parks where a number of buildings have thicker roofs and put little amusement parks on top of. It used to be purely dependent stores that did this concept to draw customers to stay for the day but after the war a lot of buildings were done up in many ways. Some roofs have a nice little green space park, others a little amusement park, and some have a full on zoo or aquarium up there you have to look them up to see what buildings hold what. I know a few department stores out there use their roofs as beer gardens in summer and an event space year round.
I love Tivoli, I’ve been very lucky and been here two times already and I’m going to Copenhagen in the summer so will defo make another trip here. That rollercoaster has to be one of the best rides ever my mum and I went on it so many times!
There's probably no audio because it's a city centre park with apartments nearby. It'll be so no residents get disturbed by the park. Gorgeous park. It was closed when I was out there the last time, so didn't get to go, sadly! I was in Copenhagen for 6 weeks in the 90's, and absolutely loved it. The Danish people are amazing! 💖🏴
Themed audio just doesn't seem to be very popular at Danish parks in general. I think it might have to do with a couple of factors like maybe the price for ordering custom music for everything is too high. But I think more of it boils down to many people either not caring, or finding themed soundtracks like that a bit annoying. Like it feeling corporate and stuff.
Rutschebanen is my favorite coaster in my favorite theme park. Love to see that you guys enjoyed it too! I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to coasters, but I always enjoy this one.
I went here before discovering the youtube theme park community and RODE NOTHING just walked around. I can't believe what I missed out on. Debated going on the dark ride but I wasn't a thoosie yet I was just developing the itch. Thanks for bringing me along!
Great Video. Reminds me of Disneyland in CA, built right in the city. Was suprised at that, after going to Disney World, and seeing that park away from everything.
London actually did once have something similar but not so grand, Battersea Pleasure Gardens which closed in 1974, although it cant be compared to Tivoli I am sure if it had survived it would have grown and improved, sadly its demise was tragic due to a fire.
Hi shawn and Charlotte Wow what a beautiful park. Love there scenic railway looks great . What a treat being shown around it. Beautiful park especially at night . Thanks for sharing with us. Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
Tivoli is awesome, i love this park (especially at night). Been ages since i have been there. What i really like and are impressed by is how it still looks like the good old Tivoli, even with all the new modern rides they keep it classy and "old". Great vlog, and fun seeing Charlotte in Tivoli for the first time :)
I went here in the evening when in Copenhagen for the Xmas markets, a few years back and it was gorgeous. I'm pretty sure they had Xmas music playing round the park. Only went on the wooden coaster cos my friends weren't big rollercoaster fans but one came on with me and I loved it, especially the history and the age of it. Would love to go back to get on more of the rides with friends that enjoy that kind of thing 😊
There's something so magical about a Theme park at night. It comes alive! The lights, the sounds, the smells. It's a completely different world. ^_^ And yes, Very romantic. even for you cute lovebirds. :3
I really wanna go there. But the Fata Morgana ride, there's an actual Huss Condor in my "home" park in Lake George, NY. that's still operating. There's also a sign stating the installation date in 1989, still operates every summer.
Hi Shawn and Charlotte! Been to Tivoli Gardens today and this vlog helped massively! Watched it before we came and again just now! Totally agree that the speed of service is somewhat laid back 😂 thought the demon was excellent but loved the 100 year old one so so much! Finished with this as our night time ride! Thanks again to you both, keep on riding! 👍
Yeah Shawn, I can see where Walt got idea later for The Matterhorn ride. Hmmm... I can even see where he got the buliding for It's A Small World. Double Hmmm....!
