RIP Dear Mr. Longworth. God bless you so much for all you have done and continue to do for all of us. Condolences, prayers and love to you and your family always
I LOVE THE TONE!!! Oh my gosh, it's just so RICH and BEAUTIFUL!!! And I love the little conversation that went on between the instruments-their voices could be heard loud and clear (unlike how it's fuzzy for some musicians when played weirdly). Amazing :)
I play clarinet and so have played this on clarinet. But is it any surprise that I prefer it played on viola? The tonal range and colour on the viola is absolutely gorgeous.
Traumhaft schöne Aufführung dieses perfekt komponierten Meisterstücks im gut phrasierten Tempo mit mildem Ton der Bratsche und anmütigem Klang des Klaviers. Die Virtuosität zweier Solisten ist echt erstklassig!
Wow you have a great tone... ooooh! :) (and intonation as egun82btv said).. loved it! Would have been nice to hear even more vib on some notes that didn't have any or hardly any at all. The performance was lovely. Thank you for sharing! You are a great violist.
The viola is a gorgeous instrument that's too often overlooked. Stunning tone and touch on this! Wonderful performance.
Thanks Beryl! Agree 100%.
Definitely!! Agreed.
Glad to hear you playing. Bravo.

His viola seems to be really special; it looks like a 15 2/1" and yet it sounds so very rich, I really would wanna know who made his viola:)
A true master piece. Brahms impresses us once again!!!

Thanks for watching and sharing Isaac!
I prefer it on clarinet
Also played for grade eight clarinet :)
Beautiful playing Keith!
Nice silky, smooth sound.
Bravissimo!!! Great musicians!!! Thank you!!!
very impressed! impressed with the construction of the Viola too such a rich full tone for its size.
Absolute beauty from emotional restraint!

I wasn't a huge fan of Brahms until I heard this.

Wonderful playing. Best wishes!
Brahms è davvero un compositore meraviglioso.Grazie a questi due fantastici esecutori
Deliciosa interpretación !!!!!
Impeccable intonation, beautiful phrasing. The piano is not bad either.
This is such a lovely viola piece. And Mr. Hamm lookis like Christoph from Frozen, just saying. :)
He kind of does, doesn't he? lol
I though that too!!! Haha 😂
Thought*
Can anyone tell me the meters, dynamics, genres, form, and etc. for each of these movements?
He's a fine player both he and the pianist.
It's fucki** beautiful !! I would like NO I WANT play this with my viola !! Thanks for this video, you are amazing !!
What kind of string did he use?
3 years late but most likely catgut strings, that's what most professionals use I believe
very nice intonation

Tres bon c-est. mervelloux
lovely and awesome
Does any one know which edition this is? I cannot find one with the same octave placements?
some people mix and match the octaves from different editions
Oh my god
❤️
Viola > Violin

Change my mind
Well viola is definitely better for those juicy lower notes.
Both Are Best.
