Really good video buddy, lots of food for thought. Quick question. I just started to build a MBT for multiple purposes and I use an awakened Steel fighter on the unit for a base shield. My main unit is a Vanguard Heli with an awakened Valkyrie / Golden Eagle partnership. As this unit has the most HP in my line up, would I it better to swap out Valkyrie / Golden Eagle for Steel fighter when the Heli is garrisoned, then swap back out when leaving my base. Hope that makes sense?

Yes the unit with the most HP will give you a bigger base shield. Remember to awaken Thorn so you can get the base shield.

Steel doesn’t add shield to the base,Thorn add it. Stell give us 30% skill dmg reduction and can be on any unit ,must be only trained.

Can anyone give me some advice please I'm fairly new to this game only been playing about two or three weeks and I'm really struggling with what units I should build I'd like to play as a defensive player but have no clue witch five units I should build for this purpose I'm not a base to base player or a field player

They give unit buffs for having multiple of same camp. They don’t tell you it’s to force you to spend major cash. It’s hard enough to make one mod camp unit let alone 4 or 5 or 6. My suggestion make 2 tops then use three of same camp in hangars and leave them lower level.

is there a difference if I have SH 8 units or, like you, 11 units distributed in the shield that the base receives? Will the shield be larger with more? or maybe it is enough to have 1 unit deployed to have a shield?

The shield is only calculated on the unit the officer is placed on so that's why its on my unit with the most HP. For the base to have the base shield the unit with the officers with shield must be in the base.
