Had tickets for one of Billy's shows. We got there early, and I suspected Billy might be in the local pub near the theater where he was about to perform. Walked into the pub with my brother and there he was, sitting in a corner reading a book. He kindly shook both of our hands before he left. Lovely guy.
Remember telling my Dad that I saw Billy playing in the pavilion in the 70s Big Banana feet, only to be trumped when he told me he saw Laurel and Hardy at the Empire in the 50s
