I'll come clean, the last game I played on Xbox 360 before migrating to Xbox One was Battlefield 4. Even then, that experience wasn't really comparable to what horrors lurk in 2042's last gen servers.
Bro bf4 and bf3 was kind of flawless on ps3/xb360 compared to this. Bf4 was more buggy but atleast optimized for last gen. I also remember when I migrated from ps3 to ps4, was day and night.

I’m going to be honest, I have an SSD on a PS4 slim along with an upgraded cooling fan, and cleaned heat sinc, 2042 runs well, but there are just too many game breaking bugs. Especially the polygon textured assets, and I don’t even get to see my character in loading screens the majority of the time.
Same here with an SSD but no cooling fan, the textures mess up for like a second now when you load in a vehicle that's it. And the "delay" he's talking about is his potato aim

The version of the PS4 if downloaded on the ps 5 does not load the textures. This means that the game has been very poorly optimized and the graphics have been loaded low
I would've given anything for dice to have continued work on Battlefield 5 and Battlefront 2. Those games had just gotten good when they dropped support to devote all development to the rushed 2042. They both deserved another dlc of maps/modes and support before being dropped. Battlefield 2042 should've launched in 2022 exclusively next gen.
And cancelling Battlefront was one of the stupidest decisions DICE ever made and thinking about it that really was the beginning of the end for DICE shame

game breaking bugs aside, visual bugs take me back to battlefield 4 on the PS3 days, where if you encountered an enemy at the beginning of the match you couldn't use your gun because either it didn't load yet or it loaded so low poly you didn't have a sight on it

i play the xbox one version on xbox series x and ngl, Battlefield, after i saw that season one came oui and i tryed it again, it actually started to make fun but i have a problem with the aim assist :i i think it should be a little bit stronger actually idk i can play without it and if i turn it of it dosent make a huge difference,. Im still playing it for hours about 2 days now., but there is still alot they have to do... maybe they could remove the Hazard zone mode and put in a actual Multyplayer mode, even if they have Battlefield Portal they still can make an extra multyplayer mode with all guns from the battlefield world and all that it needs for an multyplayer
I got the ps4 disk version for $20 brand new a few days ago. Graphics can be wonky when spawning or loading in for the first few seconds, but I haven’t really experienced any lagging in gameplay. This may be due to 2042 being on an external SSD connected to my ps4. Matchmaking is still F’d up. Coming directly from BF4, I don’t think I’ve played a single match where I got less than 30 kills. Either BF4 taught me well, or kids these days have terrible hand-eye coordination.
I got the Xbox series S, but still playing BF4, great community still plays that game, you repair a vehicle, you dropped ammo, get a revive, and always get a cheeky Thank you!...it runs smoothly too
I personally have been enjoying 2042 when it first launched it was almost not even a fun game, but the last time I actually got on 2042 I was loving the portal Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 it was almost like experiencing it for the first time in a way, I miss the good ole days of when all my friends actually all got on and played bf3 and halo reach.. I miss those days, but base 2042 is something I try not to play, I just like the older maps and modes. I havent had graphic issues either
I play ps4 and a lot of the time I’ll get out onto a map I can see straight through. Takes about 2 mins to sort itself out which is pretty bad. Tbh I enjoy finding a hardcore lobby and just slaying out it’s a lot more fun than core.

Playing on PS4, if you destroy the Shuttle on Orbital, or those oil drums on Breakaway... It can (and usually) crashes the game. (CE-34878-0). The rendering is terrible. Especially starting out.

Yes it the worst recoil ever in a bf game on ps4. I don't even think it's just a recoil problem because when I try to use the AK the fist shot recoil is impossible to control ill go from shooting above their head to shooting under there feet in the span of like 2 bullets it insane
Ik what you mean by the aiming lag. I think it's just playing a PS4 version on PS5. It happens on Chivalry 2. My friends have PS4s so I have to play the PS4 version with them. Got similar aim lag there. But it doesn't happen on games like bf4 or 1 on PS5. Works great. Must be something with games with 2 versions.

Bf2042 on old gen isn't actually that bad. Me and my friends only play on last gen and we hardly come across bugs. The only reason it's bad on ps5 is because your playing a version of a game on the wrong console.(Please excuse my English it's not my first language) Great video though
That's not the reason at all. The game should run Better on Better hardware. Textures not loading despite the SSD, mesh and polygons colliding, almost 1 second input lag: these are not hardware issues, rather optimization ones.
1:54 your guns barrel to close to the trailer. Yes, I know you can see the enemy through your scope, but your bullets come out of the barrel of the gun, not the scope. 2:43 slow down to 0.25. miss. its not the games fault here.
I think it's caused by the game not running on a faster drive, like a SSD or a USB Stick. I noticed using flash storage for external, my load times have been better and model/texture pop in is far left often.
i played bfV on my friends xbox one and the faces went potato mode while i was reviving a bunch of ppl on a bridge in the middle of a firefight and combined with the expressions they make when getting revived it was just the best laugh i’ve had in awhile

But when I play it, in the outside its so ridiculously bright that it's like watching directly into the sun and when watching into inside from outside its the same as to try to distinguish smth inside black hole, can't see shit. And yes it also happens on pc. Also try to make melee kills, it's absurd how much delay you get with that. Makes it impossible to make a killing machine challenge
I remember there was also issues with BF4 on the at-the-time last gen consoles, reduced sized maps and reduced player slots. I don't remember if the graphics were that bad/glitchy tho.

Ik what you mean by the aiming lag. I think it's just playing a PS4 version on PS5. It happens on Chivalry 2. My friends have PS4s so I have to play the PS4 version with them. Got similar aim lag there. But it doesn't happen on games like bf4 or 1 on PS5. Works great. Must be something with games with 2 versions.

Even if I know why they do it, it still sucks for the player, because with a pregame lobby you know you're going to start every game from the beginning instead of joining late game. Also it's fun if u have the same lobby each time, you'd start to know each player by name

Bf2042 on old gen isn't actually that bad. Me and my friends only play on last gen and we hardly come across bugs. The only reason it's bad on ps5 is because your playing a version of a game on the wrong console.(Please excuse my English it's not my first language)

That's not the reason at all. The game should run Better on Better hardware. Textures not loading despite the SSD, mesh and polygons colliding, almost 1 second input lag: these are not hardware issues, rather optimization ones.

I think it's caused by the game not running on a faster drive, like a SSD or a USB Stick. I noticed using flash storage for external, my load times have been better and model/texture pop in is far left often.
i played bfV on my friends xbox one and the faces went potato mode while i was reviving a bunch of ppl on a bridge in the middle of a firefight and combined with the expressions they make when getting revived it was just the best laugh i’ve had in awhile

It's beyond me how people talk positively about this map. But when I play it, in the outside its so ridiculously bright that it's like watching directly into the sun and when watching into inside from outside its the same as to try to distinguish smth inside black hole, can't see shit. And yes it also happens on pc. Also try to make melee kills, it's absurd how much delay you get with that. Makes it impossible to make a killing machine challenge

I play in ps4 and it isn't bad, instead it is good, also it has it's problems but in the ps5 the ps4 version seems like it's broken
I remember there was also issues with BF4 on the at-the-time last gen consoles, reduced sized maps and reduced player slots. I don't remember if the graphics were that bad/glitchy tho.
TBAG, I play like this every day on last Gen. Some of us can’t get their hands on a PS5 even though we have the money because scalpers are still running rampant. No one is doing anything about it.
if money isn’t a problem go to stockx that’s what i did for my series x but tbh be careful with ps5’s this year, i’ve heard a dozen horror stories from friends i play with and others on the internet about them braking and controllers stop charging and hdmi ports falling out etc..
