    This is hands down the best and most need-to-know review I've found for this tablet. I've been thinking about getting one of these 2 in 1 hybrids, but a laptop seems a better solution for me, especially considering their low weight these days.

    Hey Dave, I love the quality and thoroughness of your videos! I would just maybe suggest that for music in the background, you don't pick something that is soooo repetitive :P it makes it really hard tune out after a while, it can get pretty annoying...

    I am buying this for college. its only $475 at Amazon, so cheaper than the surface 3 I was looking at originally, has double ram and memory, and I can still use an active stylus for one note, plus I don't have to pay extra $100 for a keyboard. Looks like a great little device, can't wait to use it for procrastinating while telling myself its a great machine for homework and note taking.

    Great review. I bought the T300 Chi Signature Edition and I am very pleased with it. Having the tablet standing in portrait position (tall&thin) is especially good for reading sheet music and it is light enough to sit on the piano without any fear of damage.
    I also like that you can insert the screen the opposite way in order to use it in the tent position.
    Mine came with a micro to micro cable to charge the keyboard so that there is no need to use the USB adapter for this.
    One question; does it work well with a stylus? Which stylus do you recommend for art and note-taking?

    Since you said that the keyboard works over Bluetooth, is it possible to also attach a bluetooth mouse or is that something that wont work? Planning to buy this device for my study (Mostly just writing essays/notes and some browsing and a movie from time to time). If not are there any comparable devices who arent much more expensive in the ~12 to 14 inch range (doesnt have to be a convertible)

    its crazy that they used to make 2-1 devices with a connection (my old tf300) that shares a battery, and added a usb port and sdcard. its like they went backwards

      @marcoarecibo2173 9 лет назад

      Daniel Duncan Yes, I'm waiting for the next iteration, or an updated version of the t200 or something.
      The 300Chi is very sleek but ultimately disappointing.

    • @Splenda257
      @Splenda257 9 лет назад

      Daniel Duncan I have a first generation Asus convertible Windows tablet, the 11.6 inch Vivotab, which has a shared battery in the keyboard, and Atom processor, gets well over 10 hours battery life, and I love that part of it. The 300 Chi would be nice upgrade with the Core M processor and 12 inch screen, but the battery life is a disappointment. It is like Asus went backwards. They made compromises so the device could come in at a low price point and so Asus could advertise that the Chi is lighter and thinner than air, to compete with the MacBook Air. I would rather pay more for it to have better battery life even it that caused it to be a bit thinker and heavier.

    Hey Dave, I'm having a bit of a struggle deciding between two laptops and I was hoping you could help me. Both of these laptops are currently under $500, and they're both sporting the same processor (Intel Core i5-5200U).
    On one hand I have the Dell Inspiron 15 i5548 Signature Edition 8GB Memory/1TB HDD, and on the other I have an Acer Aspire E5-571 with 6GB Memory/1TB HDD. They both have similar specs, I was wondering if I could get your professional opinion on which would be the better buy.

    Help! Hi Dave, I really need to get a 2 in 1 laptop like this one soon. Is this decent enough for Photoshop/Lightroom, as long as I don't open that many apps? I'm not sure about the processor (Intel Core M?) compare this with Intel core i3 or i5? I'm so confused. My other option is Acer Switch 11 (with Intel i5 at Amazon). If this Asus better than Acer Switch 11 (with i5), where to buy this? I don't see it on Asus site. Great review!

    • @Dave2D
      @Dave2D  8 лет назад +2

      +Tienny “Francis” Latif the acer switch is more powerful but the build quality on the Asus is better. Whats your budget exactly? Can you fit in a older surface 3? (not pro)

    • @tiennylatif7168
      @tiennylatif7168 8 лет назад

      +Dave Lee Well I can stretch my budget to Asus Transformer T300 but if Acer Switch 11 is more powerful then I take that one. The one thing I don't like with Microsoft Surface is the keyboard. I like sturdy keyboard and their keyboard looks flimsy. Too bad Acer Switch 12 will come out later (if it comes out before June, I'll get that one). Thanks Dave! I appreciate the fast reply. :)

    Hey I would love it If you could get a review out about the Asus k501lx. It's a part of their multimedia series, although there isn't a touch screen it seems almost a "toooo good to be true" package for $799 usda. Just thought what your opinion would be about it or if you could get one to show off to the viewer as the only review isn't in English and there is a quick one at a convention that doesn't do a great job about actual usage of the machine. Otherwise I love your videos! Keep up the amazing work!

    My Struggle if I choose this would be finding the cases created only for this Laptop unlike macbooks, that theres a lot of cases available for it, not just only that but it has available screen protectors and plug in caps. almost every gadget store offers many accessories for macbooks compared to other laptops. im using a windows laptop and since I was not able to find a case designed for it and if there is, its expensive unlike in macbook theres class A, very similar to the original at a lower price , my laptop ended up having scratches quickly and I hate that. Tired of using universal cases.

      Ok so if you are wanting this for simple things you can get the 128gb SSD and 4gb ram version its cheaper and will still run your web browsing and other things here's a link to buy one on amazon www.amazon.com/Transformer-T300CHI-F1-DB-All-Aluminum-Detachable-Touchscreen/dp/B00T7XR888
      And if you don't want this one you should check out the HP Pavilion x2 12t
      store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/Laptops/hp-pavilion-x2-detachable-laptop---12t-t6s89ua-aba
      it has a slower processor but if all your doing is basic web browsing you will be fine. also instead of metal this one is plastic so if your looking for that premium feel definitely go with the Asus T300 chi.

    David Lee, love your videos, what would you recommend for a student that is majoring in mechanical engineering? I would be doing online graphics and running a cad system that allows me to write and run programs for CNC and milling machines. I want something lite, something durable and something that I can keep long term.
    thank you.

      I myself have tried out my ASUS T100ta (64 Gb SSD version) on following Mechanical eng. software:
      - Matlab
      - Creo Parametric 2.0 (3.0 should be np)
      One of my friends did try out some version of CATIA (think it was v5 something) and it kind of lagged just modelling stuff.
      But using CAD (except CATIA mentioned above) for CAM operations and studying single models (no assemblys, began to laag 😯) have worked out just fine!
      Matlab calculated all inputs ok but bringing up plots and animations went a bit to far resulting in laag. Considering a more terminal work session should be thought of here but the transformer series isnt really suited for this (even if Ubuntu right now has been optimized for ASUS T100).
      This T300 Chi has 64 bit system and better processor while also avoiding the Intel (hell...) Family integrated graph. series cards (chi has HD 5300 and is comp. to HD 4000 but is perhaps 20 % better while also using less energy).
      So short answer, yes this upgraded version of transformer book should work (and by specs. much better for the laagy ones mentioned above).
      Hope this answered your question!

    What about the multitasking performance like web browsing, playing youtube videos, photoshop simultaneously? I would like to buy one for my basic tasks like use of MS Office, Websurfing, wathing youtube videos. Gaming is not important to me? Would u recommend this? Plz reply!

      @Dave2D  9 лет назад

      +Mehedi Sojib Multi-tasking works fine but it really depends on how extensively you're using photoshop. for minor photo editing in photoshop, no problem. If you're doing a full illustration in photoshop. Then no, this wouldn't be a good device for that. Hope that helps!

    Would've been cool if they used induction charging to connect the two batteries. Not the best or the most efficient solution but cool none the less

      Dan G That would have been super cool. And it TOTALLY would have worked considering how battery undemanding a wireless keyboard is.
