The balance technique at 1:06 along with one of my favorite Office episodes at 3:45 solidified the thumbs-up from me. Nice review, Dave!
Andy | MyTechMethods Such a good episode hah. Glad you liked!
Nice I made an appearance! Ha. Great review. So much better than mine lol
Ayy lmao
Danny Winget Hah. That Beat Booster video of yours is one of my fav videos ever.
The spinning... you're... brave. I had a mini heart attack xD
ikr
Wow! The best reviewer I´ve seen: your are so eloquent and elegant, man. I liked your style.
Dude, you are probably the chillest reviewer on RUclips.
There's always therelaxingend
Congrats on reaching 30k+ subs. Your videos are getting better each time.
I am so SCARED when you play with gravity like that... Great review as always my friend! Still loving your wallpapers :D good night from México!
This is hands down the best and most need-to-know review I've found for this tablet. I've been thinking about getting one of these 2 in 1 hybrids, but a laptop seems a better solution for me, especially considering their low weight these days.
Hey Dave, I love the quality and thoroughness of your videos! I would just maybe suggest that for music in the background, you don't pick something that is soooo repetitive :P it makes it really hard tune out after a while, it can get pretty annoying...
Easily my favorite Office scene ever...Kudos for integrating that, love your reviews!
love how laid back your videos are, keep them coming!
Screws are under the feet just a fyi you can easily see them at 1:10. And is common for plastic fantastic bottoms cause "reasons".
Nice review as always and I'm digging the music choice in this one, last one I wasn't feelin it. Side note that is my favorite episode of The Office.
Sawk4Soup I regretted using that last track instantly. Sorry! =)
Yay! Awesome work, Dave!
Phil Vierno Thanks man =) Looking forward to that RX100 review of yours!
Fantastic review, love the depth of this video!
Can't wait to see more of your videos
Antnie Thank you! Always more to come =)
Nice review David like always!
This still good for students in 2018?
Up
I am a student that uses one you can get the asus t300chi for around $500, so i would recommend it.
Great review Dave! :D
MKBHD watch out!
+LachlanKnight My thoughts exactly!
lol
MKBHD no need to watch out, he resides in the phone world, Dave otherwise is in the laptop category
Shrapnel doesn't damage towers anymore
Really good, solid review. I'd never buy something like this (I'm an old guy and a Mac guy) but I like to keep up on tech trends. Dig the soundtrack, too.
Nice well engineered review!
Bought it in Sep 2015 and I'm in love with it with the asus stylus. Best 2in1 ever!!
Sachin Doolarchan docking station as in the hinges on keyboard on which the monitor rest -> no
Sachin Doolarchan no I haven't had any these experiences. Infant the hinge is so strong that can even hold the screen while the keyboard is hanging.
im thinking about purchasing it dont want to walk aroud with my 17 inch laptop need something a bit more portable that can do everything
I guess this laptop is a good choice as this one is cheaper than the new laptops.
Hi everyone, can you edit 10 minutes videos on this thing? BTW, I use Sony Movie Studio 13.0.
Thanks, I'm a student, and was looking for a tablet/laptop for work. I knew it wouldn't be good for gaming or even intensive web browsing, but I'm glad you recommended it for students, cuz, I already bought it, so, yeah. ;P
ZallCaTor nice. i'm sure you'll love it!
btw one of the best reviews about this laptop, mabey even the best
I am buying this for college. its only $475 at Amazon, so cheaper than the surface 3 I was looking at originally, has double ram and memory, and I can still use an active stylus for one note, plus I don't have to pay extra $100 for a keyboard. Looks like a great little device, can't wait to use it for procrastinating while telling myself its a great machine for homework and note taking.
Amazing video Dave, keep it up!
Awesome videos btw, I'm surprised barely anyone knows about your reviews yet! Quick question. In your use, how long is the battery life on the detachable keyboard?
your background on your mac is awesome :D
Dave will you one day make review about mouse or keyboard, for example for gaming?
Keep it up!
Looking for an iPad replacement. this for $676.79 + micro SD, Asus Zenpad S 8.0 (android) at $299.99 + micro SD, Dell Venue 8 7840 (android) at $438.95 + micro SD, and the Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 4K at $1399.99. I won't settle for 1080p or less. This is a very good option, considering the free upgrade to windows 10.
your review are so cool and so complete..
Dave, I really recommend you to evaluate and do some review a phone named "坚果 Pro" made by Smartisan.
Great review. I bought the T300 Chi Signature Edition and I am very pleased with it. Having the tablet standing in portrait position (tall&thin) is especially good for reading sheet music and it is light enough to sit on the piano without any fear of damage.
I also like that you can insert the screen the opposite way in order to use it in the tent position.
Mine came with a micro to micro cable to charge the keyboard so that there is no need to use the USB adapter for this.
One question; does it work well with a stylus? Which stylus do you recommend for art and note-taking?
Great review Dave!
This looks like a great hybrid!
Since you said that the keyboard works over Bluetooth, is it possible to also attach a bluetooth mouse or is that something that wont work? Planning to buy this device for my study (Mostly just writing essays/notes and some browsing and a movie from time to time). If not are there any comparable devices who arent much more expensive in the ~12 to 14 inch range (doesnt have to be a convertible)
that piano black is soo yummy, still the best looking tablet out there (sans the keyboard)
I need a two in one powerful enough to do all my work. What is the best one under $600?
good review. looking forward to more
its crazy that they used to make 2-1 devices with a connection (my old tf300) that shares a battery, and added a usb port and sdcard. its like they went backwards
Daniel Duncan Yes, I'm waiting for the next iteration, or an updated version of the t200 or something.
The 300Chi is very sleek but ultimately disappointing.
Daniel Duncan I have a first generation Asus convertible Windows tablet, the 11.6 inch Vivotab, which has a shared battery in the keyboard, and Atom processor, gets well over 10 hours battery life, and I love that part of it. The 300 Chi would be nice upgrade with the Core M processor and 12 inch screen, but the battery life is a disappointment. It is like Asus went backwards. They made compromises so the device could come in at a low price point and so Asus could advertise that the Chi is lighter and thinner than air, to compete with the MacBook Air. I would rather pay more for it to have better battery life even it that caused it to be a bit thinker and heavier.
AHHHH! Are you trying to make me have an anxiety attack! I mean cmon your unboxing at the edge of a roof!
love that office episode 😂
Very nice review :) but I've a question, bro
If it's between Asus Transformer book chi and Acer Aspire Switch 11 with the same specs, what are u gonna choose?
This is the earliest I've ever been to any vid btw XD
Make the music louder next time, I can still hear you talking a bit...
haloShAdOwSnIpE haha. Sorry. I edited this video with M50x's and that music is def too loud.
But I like your idea, I'll just make instrumental music videos with product footage next time.
***** Thanks.
Hey Dave, love your vids! I've got a quick question. Regarding Tablet/Laptop hybrids are there any yet that you do recommend with a rigid keyboard? I'm currently awaiting the info on the Surface Pro 4 from Microsoft but I wanted to know if you know any great offerings from other companies with a rigid keyboard.
thanks great review! I think i am going to buy it, But i have 1 question how long is the keyboard battery life?
hey Dave, i love your videos and i am like the look of the t300 chi, i have a spending limit of about $1'200 are there any 2 in 1's that you can reccomend?
Another excellent video bud
McLovin Life Thanks!
~ Hello Dave, need your help please!
Did your unit come with a micro male to usb male & micro male to usb female dongle or mini male to usb male & dongle?
Can I ask you that which games are you already playing and which are your favourite? Which your recommend. (BTW Watching you when you had about 2000 Subs.) PS: Sorry for bad english but Im from Slovakia so my english is not best
Thanks
So many good games out there heh. TOO many. My favorites right now are heroes of the storm and the new batman. Thanks for the support!
Hey Dave!
Will you be reviewing the new Microsoft Surface Book?
Great, great, great review. As usual. ;)
Fabio Gamberini thanks!
Hey Dave, I'm having a bit of a struggle deciding between two laptops and I was hoping you could help me. Both of these laptops are currently under $500, and they're both sporting the same processor (Intel Core i5-5200U).
On one hand I have the Dell Inspiron 15 i5548 Signature Edition 8GB Memory/1TB HDD, and on the other I have an Acer Aspire E5-571 with 6GB Memory/1TB HDD. They both have similar specs, I was wondering if I could get your professional opinion on which would be the better buy.
What will U use it for?
IVIusicFiend I'd go for the Dell. If everything else is similar, they have better support than Acer does.
Hmm, mainly graphic design and a little gaming here and there though nothing intense. Maybe some coding down the line as well.
@Dave, Sounds good. I had the same thought but wasn't really sure which. I was leaning towards Dell as well but I had heard a few things about text being fuzzy on their screen. Thanks man.
IVIusicFiend you should go for something with a dedicated gpu.
Do you use the Moto X as your daily driver? Is it still worth it and are you not bothered by the "warm" whites in comparison to non AMOLED devices? Sorry for OT :)
Christoph I switch between several phones. S6 active/iphone6 are my current dailies. I use the Moto X for sound tests because for some reason it has the most accurate mic by FAR when compared to a regular DB meter.
Help! Hi Dave, I really need to get a 2 in 1 laptop like this one soon. Is this decent enough for Photoshop/Lightroom, as long as I don't open that many apps? I'm not sure about the processor (Intel Core M?) compare this with Intel core i3 or i5? I'm so confused. My other option is Acer Switch 11 (with Intel i5 at Amazon). If this Asus better than Acer Switch 11 (with i5), where to buy this? I don't see it on Asus site. Great review!
+Tienny “Francis” Latif the acer switch is more powerful but the build quality on the Asus is better. Whats your budget exactly? Can you fit in a older surface 3? (not pro)
+Dave Lee Well I can stretch my budget to Asus Transformer T300 but if Acer Switch 11 is more powerful then I take that one. The one thing I don't like with Microsoft Surface is the keyboard. I like sturdy keyboard and their keyboard looks flimsy. Too bad Acer Switch 12 will come out later (if it comes out before June, I'll get that one). Thanks Dave! I appreciate the fast reply. :)
Hey I would love it If you could get a review out about the Asus k501lx. It's a part of their multimedia series, although there isn't a touch screen it seems almost a "toooo good to be true" package for $799 usda. Just thought what your opinion would be about it or if you could get one to show off to the viewer as the only review isn't in English and there is a quick one at a convention that doesn't do a great job about actual usage of the machine. Otherwise I love your videos! Keep up the amazing work!
ytmike100 Might have one in soon but I have a horrible backlog of videos to do and I'm getting crushed at work
How is 99% sRGB + 76% Adobe RGB not good!?
cwongtech Um.. Prank bro
what need to be made is a hyper thin notebook running chrome os and switching to android when disconnected from keyboard, and the keyboard would have the connection of a microsoft surface pro, if it cost less than the price of a normal laptop and tablet divided by 3 times by 2 then i would buy
Really nice review
Leonardo Rivera thanks!
Did your attempt to play Dota on that cause your two teammates to leave, Dave?? :p
WOOT!!! first!! finally =p Great review as always!
No youre not xD
Justin Okoh is
Ian Simard haha oh well next time then xD
But your second :D
youre content is really good :)
I have the old version I envy the new one it's dock is so thin so is the laptop and I love the silver inside the clicker
Great review! all i wanted to know is stated. Sir, can i ask about Asus t300fa? If ever you have that device, does its keyboard needs charging too? And how does having an ISSD storage work (i will be installing softwares, like photoshop, that i might not have enough space for videos and photos on the main tablet without the HDD keyboard of the asus t300fa) Thanks. Im kinda new to this hybrid laptop. Sorry for asking this in t300 chi review. 😊
Hey there! Where you buy all your stuff?
Cool video! How well does it work with a stylus? Does it have palm rejection?
Simon Noah It does have a stylus available. Didn't get one with my unit so I can't say for sure.
Hey Dave, whats the wallpaper youre using behind you?
Nathan Hockridge file link in the video description
***** thanks for adding it in!
Hi Dave may I know where are you from? I mean are you Chinese, Japanese or?
Why not both *mexican music*
He's African
I want to buy this as a working notebook. now i'm using n550JV and it's heavy when i bring adapter with it. I have to walk upstairs to 7th floor with 2.6 kg notebook + books in my bag. Any hard drive upgrade?
Do you know of any good covers for this device that can be used with the key and tablet connected?
Good review, thanks!)
How it would it perform with windows 10
Nice review, good job :P
Thanks!
My Struggle if I choose this would be finding the cases created only for this Laptop unlike macbooks, that theres a lot of cases available for it, not just only that but it has available screen protectors and plug in caps. almost every gadget store offers many accessories for macbooks compared to other laptops. im using a windows laptop and since I was not able to find a case designed for it and if there is, its expensive unlike in macbook theres class A, very similar to the original at a lower price , my laptop ended up having scratches quickly and I hate that. Tired of using universal cases.
How can I get one of these with 128gb SSD, 8gb ram because I can't find any legit looking ones. Where did you get yours?
Niceee, The Office, what a great show! :)
Can you put on the screen backwards? so I can watch a movie and don't have the keyboard in front of the screen... if u know what i mean..
+ProgamerEU Yes you can.
Matjaz Podjavorsek thanks!
How do u keep getting laptops evry week I need a Alienware so I can render my videos ;(
I would love to see you review the Lenovo y50 gtx 960m if it's not too late for you to do so
can i used this laptop for developing purpose like app development in android studio and windows software development?
what I hate about this keyboard? No backlit and I don't know why don't asus make keyboard magnetic like surface pro 3 keyboard? and why no full size USB? I don't mind if it add a little thickness
What do your recommend for a good hybrid (tablet/laptop) within the price range of 600-900 USD that would be able to run a game like GTA V or MW2? And dont bother recommending any apple device, Im not a fan of their OS
nice dave u rock boy
Hey there, I've been planning to buy a 2 in 1 for basic stuff, web browsing, office, mails, etc but I'm short on budget. I've read and seen thousands of reviews and can't make a choice. Can you help me a bit?
Ok so if you are wanting this for simple things you can get the 128gb SSD and 4gb ram version its cheaper and will still run your web browsing and other things here's a link to buy one on amazon www.amazon.com/Transformer-T300CHI-F1-DB-All-Aluminum-Detachable-Touchscreen/dp/B00T7XR888
And if you don't want this one you should check out the HP Pavilion x2 12t
store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/Laptops/hp-pavilion-x2-detachable-laptop---12t-t6s89ua-aba
it has a slower processor but if all your doing is basic web browsing you will be fine. also instead of metal this one is plastic so if your looking for that premium feel definitely go with the Asus T300 chi.
hu dave would you tell me how much maximum capacity for microsd card slot thanks @Dave Lee
David Lee, love your videos, what would you recommend for a student that is majoring in mechanical engineering? I would be doing online graphics and running a cad system that allows me to write and run programs for CNC and milling machines. I want something lite, something durable and something that I can keep long term.
thank you.
I myself have tried out my ASUS T100ta (64 Gb SSD version) on following Mechanical eng. software:
- Matlab
- Creo Parametric 2.0 (3.0 should be np)
One of my friends did try out some version of CATIA (think it was v5 something) and it kind of lagged just modelling stuff.
But using CAD (except CATIA mentioned above) for CAM operations and studying single models (no assemblys, began to laag 😯) have worked out just fine!
Matlab calculated all inputs ok but bringing up plots and animations went a bit to far resulting in laag. Considering a more terminal work session should be thought of here but the transformer series isnt really suited for this (even if Ubuntu right now has been optimized for ASUS T100).
This T300 Chi has 64 bit system and better processor while also avoiding the Intel (hell...) Family integrated graph. series cards (chi has HD 5300 and is comp. to HD 4000 but is perhaps 20 % better while also using less energy).
So short answer, yes this upgraded version of transformer book should work (and by specs. much better for the laagy ones mentioned above).
Hope this answered your question!
If you can get your hands on a Lenovo Flex 3 11' can you please do a review for it?! That would be great!
i had this for 4 days and took it back cause of the keyboard would not connect to the tablet only sometimes
Hmmmm that must be faulty.
Whats the keyboard battery life ?
i wonder, is it better to use it whit windows 8 or windows 10, i mean, which one is more compatible and if it is the same which one is better
dat. intro. badass.
Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series (i5, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD) or Asus Zenbook UX305?
What about the multitasking performance like web browsing, playing youtube videos, photoshop simultaneously? I would like to buy one for my basic tasks like use of MS Office, Websurfing, wathing youtube videos. Gaming is not important to me? Would u recommend this? Plz reply!
+Mehedi Sojib Multi-tasking works fine but it really depends on how extensively you're using photoshop. for minor photo editing in photoshop, no problem. If you're doing a full illustration in photoshop. Then no, this wouldn't be a good device for that. Hope that helps!
+Dave Lee Thanks for ur quick response!
that's all i needed to hear... recommended to students...
think i'll buy it.
+Alireza Ekhtiarzadeh and, already bought? What do you think about it? I think I'll buy it too :)
+Niels288 not yet... maybe tomorrow!
+Niels288 bought 1. its sale in my country. got it for $550. pretty good for casual use. it can also handle some older games
+Bacon Waffle bought 1 too! for sale in my country for €495,-
Watching this on asus t300 chi
why filming outside?
Would've been cool if they used induction charging to connect the two batteries. Not the best or the most efficient solution but cool none the less
Dan G That would have been super cool. And it TOTALLY would have worked considering how battery undemanding a wireless keyboard is.
