    I like this very much! I plan to make 3. One each for my son and daughter starting with the day they were born until their first birthday, and one for my husband and I starting with the day we got married to our 1 year anniversary. I am in the middle of another project, but this will be next!

    If you're going to have fringe, you can leave a tail long enough on each end instead of weaving the ends in, avoiding the sides being wider than the center.

    Love this ❤, but thinking I'll make a baby blanket of only 3 months: their last month in utero, birth month & month after birth with sparkly yarn for the day they're born & multicoloured yarn or textured yarn to mark the change of month & popcorn stitch to mark rainy days! It will look soooo cool! 🌞I may decide to create a tassle edge so that I don't have to sew in ends that create bulky edges, but thinking through safety aspect for babies. I'll do trebles (you say double crochet) for each row & use 4 ply baby yarn & 4 mm hook. Should be cute! 🌼Thanks for your tips Christa!💛💜💚💙❤

    If you don't weave in the ends and alternate between each row, so you get ends equally on each side, can they be used as a small edging on each side of the blanket for decorations? Is it ideal? Could add extra yarn to the single pieces to make it thicker. What do you think?

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Jody! Yes - you can leave your tails on each row, and use them for tassels! And you have it exactly right: you cut some extra lengths of yarn to add when you make the tassels. You can even add tassels on all 4 sides for a uniform look. Hope that helps? tag us on Instagram if you have pics: @thimblesofhope !! Christa. xx!

That aside, I drool over your blanket every time I see it! And that wall of packs of yarn behind you! It's so gorgeous and you have it arranged perfectly according to the color spectrum! I think it is a great idea to buy yarns in multiples of 6 in order to have them show up in the bags the merchant has them stocked in already! No slipping of yarn from skeins as you remove one to use it, then put what's left of that skein back in place wgen you're done with it! No tangled wads of yarn in my cubicles!
