Tunnel vision
Something changes when you pass around160. The wind pressure feels like it triples. I have had multiple 1000cc super sport bikes and currently have a CBR 1000rr. Its a workout maintaining very high speeds for a long time.

Agreed. Even though my Busa becomes more stable the faster you go, I find it difficult and/or frightening to break the 160mph mark. Maybe because I'm always wearing a backpack and it disturbs the aerodynamics?
@@commonsense7057 Man ya gotta TUCK better. Life begins @ 170 and the adrenaline is incredible. However, if you are pushing that or beyond maintaining it you'd better be fit. It is not for the faint of heart. But even 160 I had a screw pop out of a lower fairing and it caught wind wrecking the dynamic and of course I had to stop by the house for a pants change. If you are doing this on the regular pulling a Street Rossi, your clock is ticking and one day will stop. I enjoy a good spirited run just like the next adrenaline junkie, but over 150 in traffic is simply walking the line of death. I do it only when the road in front is clear and so am I. Ya may run into some traffic but heavy traffic no onw is expecting dudes running 150 anywhere and I have had more close calls than I wanna remember. But If I go at least it will be doing what I love the most.
My biggest fear of going high speed on a bike is that you’re going so fast and people don’t have time to notice you and all it takes is a sudden lane change to change your life forever.
Over about 70 your life is ended, over 130 their life is ended too.
Dude 100mph in any vehicle a crash means death unless it's a built race car
@@joebone3151 not so. I have been in a pickup that went flipping tail gate over hood and walked away but it did kill one guy that was involved so all matter of luck!

@@joebone3151 wrecked an 06 eclipse when I was 18 doing 135.. back tire blew out, slammed into the guardrail and proceeded to barrel roll down the interstate. All 4 people in the vehicle lived.. very lucky that night..

Fastest I've done was 155mph with the c8 top down. Speed governed. Gotta try with top up. Just hate going that fast. Not that the car doesn't feel good. I just don't wanna die cause a deer walks out.

I'm 73, the last bike I owned i did 173 mph. Hayabusa was not for me but I did it! Age 72. I've driven my 1967 Shelby Cobra at 130mph and I've ridden and driven all over the world, never had a problem except with police at 40 mph!!!!

I'm old, not too old, my runs can be over a 1,000 miles so I get passed by car/truck/Moto like some of these without a chance to ever see them, Police having a "no chase" policy probably lowers the overall risk to just the rider and his target, Peace3ed

Church traffic. He'll end up going to a church, but in a casket if he keeps riding and acting like a joker. I survived those days and learned you can make errors in judgement and one of them might cost your life, or possibly mangle you up so someone else has to feed you vegetable soup through a tube. Excuse me, my soup is here, I have to give up my typing arm/finger.
Yeah you either live long enough to stop or a pothole or texter stops it for you. All the close calls give me nightmares sometimes. Some things you just don't get over.

When going that fast thru highway traffic....do you lean or do the opposite turn trick with the handle bars.
Its always the bars leaning will only turn you a tiny bit even at low speeds. You just keep your ass in place and feel the breeze! hug the tank with your thighs and balls and hope no one cuts you off. My top was 140 on my CBR and I prolly had 2500 or so RPM left in 6th. And TBH I didn't think it felt much faster then my cruise of 90. And at 140 if you plan to look back tuck your chin into your shoulder and kinda look down and back so you don't get whiplash.
