    My third attempt at failure.
    150 turns of 0.5mm around a plastic spool. 3.5-ohm resistance on each coil.. All wound the same direction. All three connected in wye configuration just like yours.
    2 pairs of 1 inch N52 neodymium magnets, back to back the same side facing out.
    Placed the coils ( 1 1/2 diameter size ) at 120 degrees about 1mm away from the magnets.
    Supplied 12 volts DC. The magnets seem to go back and forth just a little.
    I used the same exact controller as you do.
    There is just one difference between your setup and mine. Your coils are on plastic angle brackets. Mine are on wood.
    One more difference between your setup and mine. Your rod is held by bearing on both bottom and top. Mine is held just in the bottom, just to see if it even works. No, go. Nothing.
    First I screwed the center of the coils to the wood bracket but then I thought that maybe the problem., attracting magnet to the screws. So I took the one screw out of each spool and hot glued the back of the spool to the wood. Nothing, no go. I also span the rotor with my hand and in both directions clockwise and counterclockwise. No success. zero, zilch.
    The only success I have had is with 12 coils and 4 poles magnets and 24 coils and 8 pole magnets. No success with the above set up and oh also no success with 2 pole magnets and 6 coils. Flunk.

      Identical poles outward? The magnets on the rotor should be positioned so that they have different external poles - S and N. See 1:01
      If you have 4 poles on the rotor, they should alternate: S - N - S - N.

      Please take safety precautions: If the magnets come off as they rotate, you may be injured. For example, place plexiglass (glass does not fit) between you and the motor.

      You need to mark the beginning of each coil when making them (wind the wire in one direction). Then connect together the three beginnings of the coils or the three ends of the coils. There are three wires left that you connect to the electronic control.

    Are the two magnets the same side facing out and if so are the repelled or attracted to the coils when they are energized by the controller? Thanks.

      All magnets are facing the same direction with the same pole. Which pole is facing does not matter, it will only affect the direction of rotation. To change the direction of rotation, it is enough to swap two of the three external terminals that go from the coils to the controller.

      The current was maximum for my power supply 5 amperes. And the voltage was most likely small, since there are few turns and the voltage immediately decreases. I do not remember already, but I think no more than 5-10 volts. That is approximately 25-50 watts.

    I think your magnets are not facing the same direction. I think Your magnets are facing opposite directions from each other. But what do I know?
    But whether they are the same poles facing out or opposite pole it is hard telling since there are no labels on the magnets in your apparatus nor can I tell which of the above two statements is the correct version as the two statements don't seem to say the same thing. But maybe they do say the same thing. I am neither a professional nor English is my primary language.
