This was a great vlog, loved the different perspective on both the rides! Such a shame you had such rough rides on Voltron, i thought it was glossy smooth every time i did it, leading me to think it was way better than Hyperia. Both amazing and perfect Mack Produkts either way! 😂
Omg Digital Dan!!! Sorry fanboy moment 😳 watch every one of your vids! I know Voltron is your number 1 so typical the video you watch from me is slating it 🤣🤣🤣 I'm sure I just caught it on a bad day. Hopefully I'll bump into you at a park at somepoint, thanks so much for the feedback, it means the world. RS
Nice video Sam. What's amazing is, if you go back 10 years, the 'world class' list of coasters was really quite small. Nowadays there's SOOO many good rides and seeing Mack really ramp up their rides in terms of layout and dominance is amazing. I've been an enthusiast since I was around 10 years old, but unfortunately as I clocked over to 30, I got diagnosed with vertigo out of nowhere - so no rollercoasters for me in my foreseeable future. So saddening as I eagerly awaited Hyperia to finally land and finally have a big standout coaster in the UK. That said, it's great to see others enjoying it and I'm still following along with the comparisons and reviews, that way I can still experience them vicariously.
I think their's so much great competition now days its bringing out the best in all manufacturers, what a special time for theme parks and rollercoasters we're living in. I really hope you're back riding rollercoasters again ASAP! RS
I was at EP last week (i.e. a few days before your visit) and got on Voltron a few times - I was a little underwhelmed by my first ride (single rider queue = left seat) on row 3 but went through the main queue after and got middle seat front row and it started to grow on me then. I did the SRQ a few more times and never felt it was rough (so may have got very lucky on the trains?). By the end of my trip I really liked it. (not done Hyperia yet, obviously as it has only run 1 day and I was coming back from Germany! ;) )
Hey Sam! What a great timing, you uploaded this vid only minutes before my flew through Europa Park station and I was watching it as we passed 😂 Thanks for the great review and honest comparison. If anything it makes me hyped for Hyperia and wanting to try it out immediately! As for Voltron I feel the same, particularly in Germany it was so overhyped to a point where I think no matter how well it performed it can’t live up to the expectations. Still I found it a great ride. Not a single element stands out but the variety of so many different elements make it such a relentless and complete experience. Rattle or jolts were not present when I rode it (or my brain was occupied processing all the other sensations). I rode back and front, outside seat only, and found no real difference in smoothness. I’m going down there again with friends in a few weeks, let’s see how things settle in. I hear they’re experimenting with wheel types. I’m excited to see how it feels with a crowd of your own and a fresh mind. And if I hadn’t been desperate to visit the English parks already I certainly am now! Hope I get a chance soon. Keep up the good work and much fun in Italy! Cheers, Arian
Hi again Arian, thanks for the detailed feedback. I would love for you to come over to England and experiance our attractions, I'd love to host you aswell if you were so inclined! I mean I thought Voltron deserved all the hype it got (aswell as Hyperia) but just goes to show you can never judge a coaster or any ride for that matter until you actually get out and ride it! Apologies for the delay in replying I wanted to make sure I'd read everything properly. I'm currently having a beer in Karlsruhe and going to be travelling to Baden Baden Airport shortly to fly to Italy. Hopefully Europa park vlog will be on either this afternoon or evening :) RS
@@rollercoastersam_ that is so kind of you thank you so much! I was expecting a lot of Voltron but the elements flashed me most came as a surprise: the zero g stall and the high voltage music installation in the queue. Karlsruhe is great, nice zoo (even has a gondola ride) great beer gardens! I didn't even know Baden-Baden had an international Airport😅 If you are ever near Berlin, let me know (sadly: no roller coasters here). Safe travels and happy coastin'!
Had 15 rides in total on Voltron Nevera April 24th and 26th in all rows and seats. I can confirm the "headache-problem". It really depends on the trains. As far as I know Mack Rides is aware of that Problem and is going to fix it. Can`t wait to ride Hyperia, whenever it will be open again, LOL
which row were you on I know in the Front row on The Bandit at Movie Park is about the same as been chucked down a hill in a shopping Trolley and for headaches you can't beat Iron Claw same park never again
It depends where you're flying from but the public transport (particularly flixbus in my opinion) is very good in Germany. Baden-Baden proberly the best airport to fly in to although I flew to Frankfurt!
Good video sam. Ive heard mixed reviews with voltron and hear the outer seats are rough. Its a front ride apparently and its a shame you didn't get in the front
Agree 100% Who’d have thought it 3 months ago? I absolutely expected Voltron to be the better ride, but Hyperia is just so much fun, and Voltron just too much of a chore, and not at all consistent. I rode Hyperia with a couple of enthusiasts from Germany, and even they agreed that Hyperia was better!!! Great video, thanks for sharing. :)
@@rollercoastersam_ No definitely not going mad. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised by how much Hyperia blows them away. The sheer size of those elements makes them impossible to judge off ride in terms of speed and forces… Then you ride it, and it’s incredible. Can’t wait for it to be fixed, gutted I had to cancel my return trip today and tomorrow, but it’s worth the wait.
Ive heard way more good things about Hyperia than Voltron, alot of people have said Voltron can be very rough on the outer seats, then theres the fact that for a launch coaster its actually pretty slow and has hardly any height too, despite it having a pretty cool well created layout, also ive heard some people say it just lacks abit of intensity, hyperia i've only heard positives with people coming off saying there speechless and that its easily the Uks best. I guess with all coasters its subjective to the rider and what they like but Voltron has had alot more mixed reviews leading me to the conclusion that hyperia is better.
That's all wrong already. Voltron is more intense and aggressive than Hyperia, calling Voltron force less is like saying that Hyperia doesn't have good airtime moments. But you really can't compare them, because only one thing they have in common is manufacturer. Oh and Voltron has a great pacing always keeping great speed, not the the fastest, but it does have small tight aggressive elements unlike Hyperia that has large and drawn out
Well Hyperia is Closed and reopen on 8th June with long waiting times poor theming where as Voltron which is open now no issues with better waiting times and fantastic theming there your answer
I haven't done either so I haven't got a leg to stand on commenting but my personal opinion is voltron isn't a bad coaster by any means if mack sorted out the rattle it would be world class like hyperia I'm on a review page and volton has a score of 98.8 per cent with a ranking of 18th best coaster in the world the biggest complaint it has is the rattle , the website is coaster captain and its for coaster enthusiasts , hopefully the rattle can get fixed soon if it can be
Wow 18th in the world is some going. Before riding it I could've easily seen it being a top 20 coaster. Hopefully next time I ride it I will be blown away!
Great video. Love that you did both in one video. Personally, I think Voltron wipes the floor with Hyperia.. Hyperia finally gives the uk a standout coaster which doesn't rely heavily on theming and rock work (here's looking at you Nemesis)
Thanks it was a bit of a big undertaking and I was proper moody when I woke up exhausted before going to europa park yesterday morning 🤣🤣🤣 I expected it to wipe the floor with most other competition in Europe but maybe I just caught it on an off day 🤷♂️

Eurostar to Brussels, ICE to Frankfurt, overnight stay, ECE to Milano drops you off at Europa Park gates right in time for park opening 😁

Definatley not!!

Sounds like Voltron needs Icon/Hyperia trains.
