Everyone i know has had this really bad cold/flu bug, hope you all get well very soon. I spent 4 days in bed with a temperature at Christmas, felt like a bus had hit me. Plenty of lovely spuds there, nice work ! my dear old Nan ( 97 ) also says dig them up as you need them like you for fresh all year round, the old people know the best tips. Good luck and take good care.
Oh no, it's definitely a very unpleasant one to catch, hope you are all better by now. We don't have a great deal of storage in the house, so tried leaving in the ground this year and it's worked really well for us, so your Nan is definitely right. It's time to get them out soon though, I don't want them to start growing.
Great to see you on Danny’s live the other night, hope you enjoyed it. I’ve got setts ready to go out, but the weather is looking really bad for a while, so I’ve just put them in larger pots for the time being. Hope you feel better soon.
Hi Jenny, the potatoes have done so well, you are getting so many. I've not decide on what varieties to grow this year, but those Caledonian Rose seem to be very productive. No rush on the oca.
Thanks Ady, I've not forgotten you. Yes, I really rate the Caledonian rose potatoes, they are really tasty and make good roasties and mash. I've bought some Caledonian pearl (early) potatoes to try this year.
@@myrustygarden That's definitely going to be my theme of the year, I have so many old dates packets of seeds that need to be used up. Desperately trying not to buy much this year, unless I'm all out, like with the onions.
I'm amazed they've lasted in frozen ground Jen ! Feel better soon 🎉
Me too, I'd read about keeping them in the ground but wasn't convinced, it definitely worked for us this time round. Would do it again.
Hope you feel better soon Jen ❤
Thank you. 😊

@@moorsidegardener I also heap more earth on top to protect the shallow spuds getting frost damage. happy growing !
@ESCAPINGTHEMATRIXFORGOOD Now, I have a bad feeling I should have done this with the oca, just have to hope it's ok.
Oh lord Jen not again 😢😢, but the supermarket keeps on giving 👍👍. Look after each other and hopefully your tucked up safe, Ali 🥶🥶🇨🇦
@@myrustygarden Will do Ali, thank you. Hope you are ok.

Thanks Pete, it was really good fun. Good idea to pot them up. I've got the first baby onions (Globo, from seed) popping up this morning too. 😊
❤❤❤

Seeds not sown are seeds not grown so always give them a go 💪💪

I find chitting seed helps me to see if they’re viable before sitting watching a pot 😂😂 especially big seed 👍
That's something I've never really done. I'll have a go this year Ali.
