The game feels pretty good lately with all the patches and stuff like that, I just hope valve starts developing more casual oriented content like new game modes and ofc reintroducing old maps with brand new themes.
Something a bit miss leading is that the view model is now server sided as you can see in the patch note: Viewmodel position setting and left/right hand state are now networked and visible to first-person spectators. However it does only work in game and not during the demo feature (that's why it appears to be client sided for you). I don't know if the smoke tracer is different in live games tho
The left/right eye dominance argument is nonsense because both eyes are seeing the same flat 2D image. Left/right eye dominance only matters IRL or in any other kind of vision system where the image shown to each eye is different.

Going straight into a 'practice' server to play with friends has always worked in CS2, it just required very simple port forwarding for the host. It's nice of them to remove the added requirement though.

finally left handed but still the silly mirrored version with inversed stickers.. so I have now an animation to not switch hands but magically mirror my gun?!
That thing about eye dominance and being distracted is real. I'm left eye dominant and seeing clips of gameplay with the gun on the left makes me feel like I'm not able to see as much of the surroundings and it's making me look at the gun more often than when I watch a a gameplay of a game with the gun on the right.

At least in real life, switching hands is super useful for keeping your exposed profile small. I always switched to left hand when aiming left from cover. The target you present is so much less than if you stay right hand and aim left around cover.
A more sober take on the overpass removal: the map was prone to micro stutters and lag over time, especially on B site with a bunch of smokes. Less so now than on release, but people on lower end PCs probably have more problems than most of redditors and content creators.
they actually nerfed the zeus, before the recharge update, it would insta kill on the current insta kill distance, but would do atleast 70 dmg when a little further from the target, when it got the recharge ability, they actually made it so that it dealt 100 dmg in that range too, now it doesn't even deal the 70, i feel like that's quite a big nerf for no reason at all, i liked the longer insta kill distance, and i feel like it made the zeus actually a pretty good weapon.
They only added back things from csgo and some qol stuff.. barely feeding us enough content like they always do. They are aware of the cheater problem since forever I guess they never started working on it
This can't even be considered content tbh. Valve can push out an update that says "nothing added lol" and there will still be people with brain rot out there praising them.
Making a hole in the smoke be exactly where the crosshair is would effectivly make all smokes one way to those shooting into it; atleast at this point you have to move into the clearing.
3:57 "Now"? What do you mean "now"? You could bind that since the beginning of CS. They just introduced a new way to do so and put it in the settings. And the old way is still more "powerfull" as it let you toggle between as many zoom settings as you wish, not only two.
the problem with defending valve for giving back something they took away just because "cs2 is a new game" is that valve forcibly deleted csgo from everyone's steam libraries and replaced it with untested beta-level software that they didn't ask for, without even having the barest minimum of "decency" to announce that it was gonna happen.
Replacing OVERPASS boggles the mind. I can think of at least 4 maps on the active roster people would replace before Overpass: Mirage (just too old), Vertigo (footsteps throughout the entire map isn't the CS way), Anubis and Ancient barely see any playtime, and a lot of people never vote for Nuke. Overpass was a crowd favorite, not mine personally but one of the most voted for ones for sure.
7:00 As tf2 guy, i can't believe the only thing i am really jealous about that cs2 have but not tf2. is the ability to make private servers to play with friends . that also let you play workshop maps. I unironically want this more than full update... of course i want quick play back more.
it may just be placebo, but in all games with this option available I've always used my left hand and I can clearly notice the difference in the quality of my game (kd, gameplay in general) just with this change
Please don't idolize Valve for doing it. We should take updates like this for granted. They only did this because people were quitting and content creators made videos complaining about it.
They should make it so that you can see left hand / right hand in 3rd person that effects the 1st person experience to more balanced I guess because of shoulder or hand differences.
@evankim2406 there are cheats that were detected instantly in csgo that are undetected in cs2. Any time I get beyond 20k elo there are multiple obvious cheaters every game. I'll play again when whatever they have works at least as good as csgo.

I've been playing for a long, long time. I started with the default hand being lefty. For whatever reason, I have ALWAYS used left viewmodels, and I am a much, much better player with left viewmodels. I am SO, SO happy that they released this. My satisfaction with CS2 is through the roof.
Still no train, or cache, the game looks horrible, premier ranks feel meaningless, and competitive is trash now. What a downgrade this is worse than Ubisoft
The fact that your stove is in your kitchen island is futuristic to me. That is so cool. Personally I loved Overwatch (in cs) so my take would be: Put a set amount of players, per region, per rank. I'm bad at CS. There is no way around that. A ton of players worldwide would just make me quit the server. But I do know the game enough. And I know how to catch cheaters. I also know what idiots that are gold or lower do in my server in my region. Perhaps you do not. Which is also interesting to me. Sometimes I see Neok for example saying "again running with the knife". Yes, we do that a lot because A) we're dumb maybe and B) because you run faster with knife and you can maybe jiggle faster / trying to jump across some place. The knife pull is a lot of times because we think enemies are in other places (or our teammates give bad info calls) so we can rotate faster. In lower levels, is not expected anchor B to actually hold B, especially because anchor B usually either dies instantly or LEAVES B (on Mirage for example). So I feel having a different amount of players of different ranks could give better fair perspective on some playstyles. However, what I do think needs to happen is: Accounts must've played a very high set amount of hours. Say 1500 or more. Maybe even 2k or more. Then perhaps they should have old accounts. I bought CSGO and did a lot of Overwatch. I should have a better trust factor for reviewing cases than timmy with 800 hours that grabbed CSGO when it was free (for which I only got a stupid medal! Thanks Valve!) even if skill wise they might be better than me. There also should be a "hidden overwatch probation" where you meet the minimum requirements, and once you are "in as an investigator" you get 10 cases. If you get more than half correctly, you get to keep your detective badge. If not, you can't do overwatch. I feel this would weed out the bad reviewers as well. Although this last point is very flawed because how can you determine "what is correct", since if you go by overall amount of answers being the same, corrupting the system again could cause this to be very flawed. But I feel pretty confident that legit players would outweigh hackers... right?
i get why he's glazing cs, his life is tied to this game, but supporting this kind of behavior from valve is pathetic. the game has no anti cheat system and it has been out for a year. not only that, but it took them one year to add left hand viewmodels. the game has been in a horrible state for too long and it seems that they havent done anything about that.
The game has an anticheat and on top of that I personally haven’t ran into a single cheater since cs2 came out. If you’re running into cheaters it’s entirely due to either not having prime or not having high trust factor, both of which are your own fault. I never once paid money on this game for prime as I’ve played since before the game went free to play and have it, so I get if this option makes it feel as though you’re paying to play, but… you do that for most games already, and this one is only 10$ as opposed to 70$.
I haven't encountered a cheater either and I bought prime in 2021. Eitherway, if Valve implements a valorant like anticheat, I'm quitting tomorrow. There is NO CHANCE IN HELL I'm letting a rootkit live on my pc.
@@blocksource4192 you know a valorant anticheat can’t see your information right? Like… it communicates directly with the memory of your system. That’s it. Your passwords, your usernames, nothing that is saved on your computer long term is saved in the memory. It’s in the hard drive or ssd. If valve wanted to make an anticheat and make it as minimally invasive as possible, it’s not difficult at all. Read the terms and conditions before you let people who don’t read them form opinions for you.
@@Broqbowman Bro please stop talking about things you dont know. Im a software developer for my day job. Vanguard had an issue where PCs wouldn’t boot (BSOD on startup and be completely unusable) because of how shit the code was. Genshin Impact’s anticheat started being used as a way to make ransomware work because the driver had an exploit in it which allowed people to gain full system privileges. These are things that have ALREADY happened… Valve had source code leaks where people found how to remotely hack people who were playing TF2 because of bad code. We cant trust game developers to make anticheats that wont be able to be used to hack people. Imagine if VAC had a source code leak like csgo and it was a rootkit and now people knew how to take remote control of computers by sending a chat message in CS:GO…

Switching hands just completely rework how guns feel for me, headshots feel much easier to hit on left but normal shots just feel jenky, meanwhile right side is just right.
The original Cobblestone design was great. Slightly T sided with interesting B and A bombsites. When they gutted site A on that Holloween updated, the map was killed. I hope they bring back Cobblestone with the original design used as the base.
Cod4 pro play had inbuilt feature where the weapons automatically switched hands depending on which corner you peeked from Maybe cs2 should just drop the delayed mechanism and add this as a feature with the option of inverting the weapon hand switch (so that the gun is towards the wall instead of the physically correct outside the wall which will block more view area)
in old csgo, i used to rebind [a] and [d] to move viewmodels to right and left side so i would be able to see everything on the close side when rounding a corner. i wish i could do this here without being unable to shoot
Wanting cbble back is one thing, wanting tuscan back is on another level. Tuscan is such an old map now that if they ever decided to bring it back it will have to make a ton of changes, possibly overhaul the layout to fit the new CS meta. Just look at vertigo, it literally a whole new map at this point with 2 bombsite literally move away to be somewhat balance, and it still suck (at least it finally balance after 2 years worth of patch notes). Overpass got removed isn’t on my list of thing happen this year but aren’t a surprise either, even though pros love the map, casual hated it for some reason, anubis and ancient are pretty well received, mirage and inferno are wildly popular, nuke is a stable map for both pro and casual, vertigo is shit but valve love it for some reason, so when they need a stable map pool for the next major, d2 is literally the only choice. I would love if they put train in for ovp, or even cache, but d2 is probably make the most sense for valve since the map is 100% ready, and they probably want to establish the map pool now so team could prepare for the next major. D2 could potentially get even more Ts since the new smoke but we’ll see once they start playing it
6:40 It doesn't matter if this feature doesn't feel useful for players who are already in a voice chat and can just tell each other. It's always better to give players more information (that's relevant) that they can see for themselves
It would be awesome if Valve reintroduced Overwatch but only to people they are directly hiring, or existing Valve employees, to review cases. I believe their use of "trusted partners" kind of hints towards THEM deciding who gets access to Overwatch and not an automated system like we had in CSGO. This would be a huge improvement to how they did things in CSGO, and shows a more active effort to improving their AI Anti-Cheat than before where they just relied on the community to find and ban cheaters which of course led to cheat developers making an active effort to corrupt that system.
what still bothers me the most is that whenever you switch hands, the player makes the "switch gun" animation, which doesnt let you shoot straight away. In csgo I would constantly swap between Left and Right hand depending on the corner that i was holding. Ive had 3 or 4 different scenarios where i swapped hands and the animation led to me dying due to timming.
The beginning of the video lagged super hard for me and it was all cut up and wasn’t until ten seconds later when I looked down and saw I’d only been 5 seconds into the video that I realized it wasn’t intentional
i think the reason why they create this switch preferred hand with delay because they want this switching hand to be a part of the game mechanics. i notice it when watching some csgo pro player, they like to spam switch hand on specific angle and they get massive advantage which is clarity for some specific position without any negative effect.
As an old fogey I liked to put my view model center down in csgo like the original doom, I have been getting used to the right handed view though now, though I don't play enough for it to matter anyways xD
I think one of the biggest reasons that people stay right-handed is because the mouse is usually on the right-hand side of their setup, and it just feels more natural because of that
This is a good update, it appears the vacnet is now being trained with actual employees who are building a base data set and then refinement can come in later with public overwatch. Great stuff.

I will be grinding that shit
Yeah ready to be released around 2026 at this pace, we had Train in the trailer which is literally a revamp only and it's still isn't in the game...
@@gabrielpasqualini8413 FMPone is not valve
@@troublishone VALVE doesnt own cache so fmpone saying its gonna be released somewhere around 2025 means that it probably gonna take a while and we atleast know when unlike with valve who dont tell us anything about any of their maps.
Unfortunately, FMPONE said in his discord that he will finish cache late 2024 early 2025. But I think he took a large margin because of how long it took him to make thera and learn S2 hammer. It might take less time because he doesn’t need to learn the how to use the map editor once again
the best thing about the hand switch is being able to throw your knife around. my adhd loves it
1000 hours and 100 premier wins to access overwatch would be a good start
you realise most of the players who have these numbers would be the cheaters themselves, right?
@@doru.t98 Cheaters would not have 1000 hours tbf, I imagine it gets boring at LEAST by that point
@@bersspon3256 oh you sweet summer child...
@@bersspon3256You'd think so, but a ton of cheaters use boosted accounts for cheating (and scamming). Those accounts usually have CS, Dota 2 and TF2 up to 1-3k+ hours. There are a lot of these accounts unfortunately, so I don't think that alone is enough.
I really don't want silver kids to review my demo
Read the title, was excited and thought Valve finally did something about the cheater problem. Instead we can switch to lefthand weapons now. Yeah, this makes the game fun again....
Don't get me wrong, the updates are surely good. But the title is a bit misleading, they fixed issues with bottom priority while the top issue and reason so many people don't play this game anymore still doesn't get any attention whatsover.
This guy has been repeating that the cheating problem isn't that bad for the past decade when literally everyone is paying to closet cheat... what did you expect
Dude really put a gun on his head with the CS2 issues last week only crawl back and eat the happy pills for a meager change rivaling a tf2 update.

The game feels pretty good lately with all the patches and stuff like that, I just hope valve starts developing more casual oriented content like new game modes and ofc reintroducing old maps with brand new themes.

I DID NOT KNOW YOU CAN SEARCH IN SETTINGS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR ESOTHERIC KNOWLEDGE
Something a bit miss leading is that the view model is now server sided as you can see in the patch note:
Viewmodel position setting and left/right hand state are now networked and visible to first-person spectators.

Yes, I still can't enter the creative workshop with my friends.
@@Arthurklay-yt4vt In case you mean workshop maps, those work just fine, you only need to forward the correct ports.
7:32 How about not launching a half-assed game that's missing 1/3rd of the features of the game it's replacing (and making it so that you can't play the old game) in the first place ? And somehow they still don't seem to have addressed the performance issues of CS2, it's become unusable for certain players, even with good mid-range PCs..
they strip the game up, then they can hype up the game with every update now, technically pulling back people into it every time they do something, its a strong tactic if you ask me
performance issues of CS2??? this is the only game that isn't handicapped by engine or code. I get 500 frames on this game at high settings with a 5120x1440p monitor... Thats basically 2x 1440p monitors in one. This is the only game i've ever seen that lets me do that

The second I was able to change to left hand I finally had the drive to play faceit again. I always used the left hand on csgo and god it's nice to feel a bit more back at home.
Played about 6 games after the update dropped it was so nice
finally left handed but still the silly mirrored version with inversed stickers.. so I have now an animation to not switch hands but magically mirror my gun?!
That thing about eye dominance and being distracted is real. I'm left eye dominant and seeing clips of gameplay with the gun on the left makes me feel like I'm not able to see as much of the surroundings and it's making me look at the gun more often than when I watch a a gameplay of a game with the gun on the right.
Neat, but I'm sad they're just mirrored and not actually the left handed view of the gun. And the AKs rear sight leaf is still set to 800 yards 😢
I think that's also one of the reasons the update took so long, I think they were trying to figure out that problem.
They wanted to keep the Cs 1.6 jank
stickers, stattrack, etc.
@@shelletonianhumanit's not a problem, just make a new set of animations... 11 years of the same ones and they couldn't even be arsed to update the default ones, forget about anything new. Shows how much they actually care about it.
Before: OMG they took the left handed view from us. BRING IT BACKK!!!!!
Now: OMG they brought it back unchanged, it's still mirrored, VALVE IS SOO LAZYYYY!!!!
CS folks are surely hard to please, y'all can find anything and everything to complain about
At least in real life, switching hands is super useful for keeping your exposed profile small. I always switched to left hand when aiming left from cover. The target you present is so much less than if you stay right hand and aim left around cover.
See, after ONE video, they listen, its clear VALVE DONT care about the community before the RUclipsrs (WarOwl and 3KlikPhilip) points it out!
6:28 I like that he uses the auto shotty with the wingssss on it to showcase this feature. 🥳
A more sober take on the overpass removal: the map was prone to micro stutters and lag over time, especially on B site with a bunch of smokes. Less so now than on release, but people on lower end PCs probably have more problems than most of redditors and content creators.
Warowl during this vid: What u seeing and whats happening could atually be different: Valve before CS2 launch: What u see is what u get
they actually nerfed the zeus, before the recharge update, it would insta kill on the current insta kill distance, but would do atleast 70 dmg when a little further from the target, when it got the recharge ability, they actually made it so that it dealt 100 dmg in that range too, now it doesn't even deal the 70, i feel like that's quite a big nerf for no reason at all, i liked the longer insta kill distance, and i feel like it made the zeus actually a pretty good weapon.
I like that ”mic slowly dojoing back to the ceiling”-effect you used in this video.
Who would have guessed that the developers never stopped working on the game and are actively aware of problems with the game.
cope
They only added back things from csgo and some qol stuff.. barely feeding us enough content like they always do. They are aware of the cheater problem since forever I guess they never started working on it
This can't even be considered content tbh. Valve can push out an update that says "nothing added lol" and there will still be people with brain rot out there praising them.
Cheating is still wild tho
Making a hole in the smoke be exactly where the crosshair is would effectivly make all smokes one way to those shooting into it; atleast at this point you have to move into the clearing.
3:57 "Now"? What do you mean "now"?
You could bind that since the beginning of CS. They just introduced a new way to do so and put it in the settings.
And the old way is still more "powerfull" as it let you toggle between as many zoom settings as you wish, not only two.
best sponsor scene video i've ever seen in my entire life
the problem with defending valve for giving back something they took away just because "cs2 is a new game" is that valve forcibly deleted csgo from everyone's steam libraries and replaced it with untested beta-level software that they didn't ask for, without even having the barest minimum of "decency" to announce that it was gonna happen.
No, we had asked for vac improvement and vac live, which are not available yet.
7:00 As tf2 guy, i can't believe the only thing i am really jealous about that cs2 have but not tf2. is the ability to make private servers to play with friends . that also let you play workshop maps. I unironically want this more than full update... of course i want quick play back more.
7:30 No, Valve shouldn't get any credit for implementing basic features. It's their fault for releasing the game so unfinished
shame on Valve that Cybershokе probably transferred more than 20 modes to CS2 in half a year
it may just be placebo, but in all games with this option available I've always used my left hand and I can clearly notice the difference in the quality of my game (kd, gameplay in general) just with this change
Please don't idolize Valve for doing it. We should take updates like this for granted. They only did this because people were quitting and content creators made videos complaining about it.
lol i found u here
😅reg😅😊😅😅😅😅
Haha im shiting on valve look how cool i am
I think that they copied the inability to shoot while switching hands from Ironsight
Factor75 is actually really freaking tasty, had great customer service, and was a delight to work with. Highly recommend trying out the offer.
They should make it so that you can see left hand / right hand in 3rd person that effects the 1st person experience to more balanced I guess because of shoulder or hand differences.
Every time you say “yes” to a Volve update w/o an anticheat, all you do is support the problem …
Been watching for almost a decade and still finish your videos saying "Still have no closer" with you. Its like an ADD tick or something. 😂😂
I'm not opening the game again until they have an anticheat
So...never opening it again? Lol
Well, technically they already have an anticheat.
@evankim2406 there are cheats that were detected instantly in csgo that are undetected in cs2. Any time I get beyond 20k elo there are multiple obvious cheaters every game. I'll play again when whatever they have works at least as good as csgo.
@@The-Real-Jack You should've said "functional anticheat" instead then.
@evankim2406 non functional anticheat = no anticheat bro. If I put a few lines of code in that don't do shit it's the same as putting nothing in at all. No one is getting banned.
Having a Valorant mapper involved in the full remakes wasn't a good idea after all ?
"This CS2 Update is What We Asked For" no, i see the vast majority of player asking for a Anti cheat. this must be the gamer goldfish syndrome.
Nope, just the result of normalizing closet cheating.
Notice how everyone is crying only about spinbotters but never mention closet cheaters?
Also more and more known cheaters are making it to the pro scene. It's complete absurdity. I haven't followed it for years and saw today that Norwi is playing a LAN right now... This kid has been cheating on Faceit and ESEA for years and has many banned accounts...
It's not that easy, they can't use say " Alright let's work on an anti cheat" and have one magically appear in front of them, they are probably working on an anti cheat right now it's just that they shat out this update while working on the anti cheat too afterall they have no reason no not work on an anti cheat
@@naturalnoob7387 waht the hell are you talking about you are one of the gold fish ppl. they litterly said they worked on "Vac life" along with CS2 they litterly made a "new" anticheat, and ppl say it wont work and demand a stronger solution, so yes id did "magically appear" uneducated ppl on the internet are funny.
Imagine if VAC had a source code leak like csgo and it was a rootkit and now people knew how to take remote control of computers by sending a chat message in CS:GO…
@@blocksource4192 and I’m a comp sci major. Terms of service has nothing to do with software and is a legally binding agreement. They quite literally can not do anything that you don’t read in the tos. Please use your brain if you’re going to use “I’m a software developer🤓” as your only argument.
Switching hands just completely rework how guns feel for me, headshots feel much easier to hit on left but normal shots just feel jenky, meanwhile right side is just right.
Instead of fighting cheater they add useless features.
The switchhands command is actually really cool
The original Cobblestone design was great. Slightly T sided with interesting B and A bombsites. When they gutted site A on that Holloween updated, the map was killed. I hope they bring back Cobblestone with the original design used as the base.
But why did they nerf the switch hand. In csgo you switch hands by command and it didn't prevent you from shooting, so why the nerf?
You're one of the very few youtubers who I will watch an advertisement for, because it's just as entertaining(or more) as the rest of the video
at 20k still got hackers every game, enemy had 3 rage hackers in mirage just now.
Cod4 pro play had inbuilt feature where the weapons automatically switched hands depending on which corner you peeked from
Maybe cs2 should just drop the delayed mechanism and add this as a feature with the option of inverting the weapon hand switch (so that the gun is towards the wall instead of the physically correct outside the wall which will block more view area)
in old csgo, i used to rebind [a] and [d] to move viewmodels to right and left side so i would be able to see everything on the close side when rounding a corner.
i wish i could do this here without being unable to shoot
They will NEVER do that
I'd love if they added a centered viewmodel option (like doom and quake)
you can just download one of the viewmodel workshop maps and make it centered yourself just make sure u click the save button
viewmodel_offset_x -2
viewmodel_offset_y -2
viewmodel_offset_z -2
put it in your autexec cfg file
As long as Jericho gets access to Overwatch, we good 👍
Wanting cbble back is one thing, wanting tuscan back is on another level.
D2 could potentially get even more Ts since the new smoke but we’ll see once they start playing it
I have a feeling the bullet going through the smoke from the camera would be too strong and that’s why it’s viewmodel
6:40 It doesn't matter if this feature doesn't feel useful for players who are already in a voice chat and can just tell each other. It's always better to give players more information (that's relevant) that they can see for themselves
The bolts on weapons like the AK47 or the AWP will also magically switch sides on the weapon as well. I'm so immersed! :D
Ive had 3 or 4 different scenarios where i swapped hands and the animation led to me dying due to timming.
thanks for talking about the nametag update, didn't know that, many other youtubers didn't cover that neat update.
Only factor ad I've been okay watching on youtube, props for that. Very entertaining.
I mean u can also press H to switch hands. I accidentally pressed it yesterday while I was trying to inspect the gun and found that out.
As an old fogey I liked to put my view model center down in csgo like the original doom, I have been getting used to the right handed view though now, though I don't play enough for it to matter anyways xD
I think one of the biggest reasons that people stay right-handed is because the mouse is usually on the right-hand side of their setup, and it just feels more natural because of that
that's literally why i like left handed mode, mouse in left hand
Since this update, I have gone from silver to purple. No joke.
tf is purple
I really hope we get some WarOwl noir-themed Overwatch case reviews, as soon as he gets access.
I think they're definitely planning to do something with the hand swapping gameplay wise since they're making it take time to swap.
This is a good update, it appears the vacnet is now being trained with actual employees who are building a base data set and then refinement can come in later with public overwatch. Great stuff.
Iirc, in a Talking Counter podcast episode, they asked the Valve employees about new maps and Train was brought up as one that *could* be coming. Not confirmed though
3:06 lmao the howtobasic slapping
I’m an old school left handed player, because of the “right vs left eye dominant” argument, and I just wanted it back because right handed felt weird
As a left handed player IM SO GLAD THEY ADDED THIS BACK
