  • In this session on Increasing and dcreasing function | Open Intervals where function is increasing or decreasing | , you will learn about the followings:
The definition of increasing and decreasing functions | Increasing and decreasing functions with the help of derivative, differentiation, differential coefficient. You will also learn how to find out the intervals where a given functions is increasing or decreasing. In other words, you are able to calculate on what interval a given function is increasing and on what interval a given function is decreasing.
If f′(x) is positive at each point in an interval I, then the function is said to be increasing on I.
If f′(x) is negative at each point in an interval I, then the function is said to be decreasing on I.
Rate of change of different dynamics | Rate of change of distance, height, or position of a body | Rate of change of Volume | Rate of change of population | Rate of change of velocity | Applications of differentiation in physics | Applications of differentiation in geometry | Applications of implicit differentiation.
We have already seen following topics in different videos.
The Concept of implicit differentiation | Why do we need implicit differentiation | Implicit and Explicit forms | Chain Rule for implicit differentation | Examples of implicit differentiation | Slope of tangent line to curve defined by implicit form | Equation of tangent line to curve defined by implicit form | Tangent line to equation of heart | General Power Rule of Differentiation | When and How to use Chain Rule |
Chain Rule for Trigonometric functions | Chain Rule for Polynomial functions | Chain Rule for Rational functions | Chain Rule for Square Root functions | Chain Rule for nth root functions | Chain Rule, Product Rule and Quotient Rule |
