I've explored that place before. The buildings are built like fortresses and the quality of the craftsmanship is amazing. I wish someone would buy it and save it from the elements for future generations to enjoy.
I live about 15 miles from there and I thought that no one could go onto the property. This is great!! Thanks for sharing! I've always been fascinated by the place.
Thank you so very much for the footage of the maintenance building. My father worked out of that building for over 25 years. Many many memories for me of that building. Loved it
Thank you for sharing your video. It breaks my heart to see this place than what it looked like back in the day when my children worked there.I always thought they would do something great with it,for our community. It was a beautiful village(which everyone here in the area called it)
Thanks for the look at Laurelton State Village. I didn't realize how big is was. As a small child over 60 years ago, I visited my mentally deficient Aunt there a few times. I entered only three buildings, the administration office, attended a church service and the cottage where my Aunt resided. I remember two rooms dedicated as visiting areas that were made comfortable and home-like for the enjoyment of the families. My happiest moments were the swings at the side of the cottage. The campus was quiet and beautiful with the watchful eye of state police. You didn't see them. But, do something unacceptable and they would quickly show up to clarify the matter. It sadden me to see so much decay.
When I was there in April of 2021 I read in the paper that it was sold to a guy that owns a construction company. Hopefully he'll rebuild it into something nice. I was just driving by and saw it from the road. It's pretty spectacular! Needs a lot of work. I believe the article said in the ballpark of $50 million to get rid of all the asbestos and other problems.
The building above the maintenance building ( yes you were correct) is very interesting. I’m not posting it on here but if you would like to know about it you can contact me via Facebook
It was beautiful really, the whole community came together and helped the West End Bible Church get out of last building of the Laurelton Center, which had been offered to the church for its use for the last 12 years, free of charge, but this new guy Jay Fulkroad wanted paid each month, even for back months that he didnt even own complex, so we all came together to make the point mote,........
I created this video with my grandson knowing is was not long for this earth, or so they tell me anyway. I want to apologize for all the curiosity seekers who have visited the center since this videos creation. There were several others to be sure but I am only speaking for my reasons and mine alone, these videos must outlive me, because when I am gone they can represent what can no longer represent itself, and it deserves to survive for that reason alone, however, this post comes with a warning to those who would venture to the complex now, you see these videos have been shared, viewed and downloaded almost four thousand times, and trying to destroy them now futile, but I have been told personally by the owners that anyone attempting to trespass on the property from this moment on is going to be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Its only fortunate that I only add that to four of our videos but I have given my word to do so, and so the word is given. John Christopher Shedlock

I love the video but I’m a local and we don’t want the name of the place being told and location bc people will ruin it.

My father worked here for a number years up until they closed it. I have a lot of memories of that place and would love to be able to go inside!

I would love to visit this place. My Great Aunt was an inmate there. It is beautiful despite what it was used for.
Whomever bought it should be ashamed of themselves! If they weren't able to maintain it why did they want it in the first damn place! IGNORANT!!!.
i just passed this place and now found out what is thanks
Wow! So many abandoned buildings!
Who did you contact to be able to walk the grounds?
I love how people comment about the facility. If you want to know more about it contact me. I know the place first hand . Enjoy yourself and be safe.
Can you get in? Or will you be arrested for coming onto property?
Would like to update everyone and say that all the buildings are still intact❤
