Thanks for the great advice about my home city ! , you could easily spend a week visiting the hundreds of attractions available in the 2nd most popular city for foreign tourists in the UK. The hotels are definitely not the most expensive in Europe but it has the highest occupancy rating of any city which will obviously inflate prices in peak season due to supply and demand. The unique city centre is a World Heritage Site , Old & New Town along with the Forth (rail) bridge , which was built in the 1880's , is an amazing feat of engineering for it's time. Fun facts: There are more Americans living in Edinburgh than any other UK city apart from central London , the US Consulate has been operating since 1798 and the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the Old Calton Burial Ground was the first of any president overseas and still the only monument to the American Civil War outside the US !. Really enjoyed your fun , entertaining and informative style of presenting , 'haste ye back' , which is Scottish for come back soon , there will always be a warm welcome !.
it's so cool to see this city! We've been to London...our friends told us about Premier Inn's (nothing fancy shmancy but clean)..we stayed at the one next to the London Eye...on the other side of the building was a 5 star Marriott and our end was Premier Inn..it was awesome! Next up a trip to Edinburgh!!!
If booking hotels months in advance , the prices can be reasonable and with dozens of hotels recently opened or in the planning stage , it should limit the peaks of dynamic pricing when demand is highest , prices in early summer 2025 ( as of September 2024 ) start off at £58 for 2 at a city Premier Inn and £63 at a Travelodge , so £29 per person !!! , which is amazing value.
I bet! Easyjet is known for being the bare minimum. Their gyms in London are something. That’s all I’ll say. We were showing all price ranges in this video. Haha
St. Giles Cathedral is celebrating 900 years this year, 2024. And Grey Friars Kirk is still having services on Sunday. We know because we went to one in July, 2024.
@@YourGuidesAbroad I like the fact you tried to get it right and you did mostly, although a few Edinboro's slipped in 😂. To be fair the pronunciation of the city name even changes depending what area you're in. Travel to some of the schemes (housing projects in American I think) and you get "Embra", in Corstorphine you get every letter pronounced "Eh-din-burr-rah", but the majority say "Edinbra", so don't worry about how you say it. Great video and thankfully you never raised my personal bug bear which is people touching Greyfriars Bobby's nose for luck, a lot of videos about our city say this and it has helped ruin the statue of the wee dug, who's nose has been rubbed clean of patina. It was untouched and not damaged until this started around the year 2000. Hope you come back for another visit soon. Maybe try some of the areas and attractions around the city, the Falkirk Wheel is the only Fully rotating boat lift in the world, it has the Kelpies next to it, a public artwork (Kelpies are water spirits from Scottish folklore in the shape of horses), Jupiter Artland a surreal sculpture park to the South West of the city. East Lothian as a couple of Major hosting golf courses and beautiful countryside, North Berwick for the Bass Rock (Largest colony of Northern Gannets in the world) and Berwick Law.

Wow! Thanks for the lovely comment from a local! We love your fun facts, thanks so much for sharing. We are looking forward to another trip!
The National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street deserves a mention. You could easily spend a day there, it's huge, central and free.

thanks for sharing! That is great to hear prices may go down with more supply hitting Edinburgh.
Remember there is about 15 miles of beach between South Queensferry and Portobello!
Thanks for sharing the tip!
Haha I stayed in that EasyHotel you show on Princes St. The rooms are the size of a broom closet and there are no windows. It’s pretty bad.

And it's pronounced, "Edinbra" not "Edinburrow".
Thanks Karen
