I know someone who did that. A guy from where I work one day spent 50K on an airplane kit. He was going to put it together so he did some preperation on the garage to make it higher and after a few months lost interest and the thing sat in crates for 25 years or so and then he died.
Hello Silas! you should fix the airplane into a swing for your kids! Spray paint your favorite colors onto the airplane. Airplane would look new. You could length the airplane when you fix it, adjustable seats!
Oh Silas, that beautiful glass patio table someone could have used for their patio, if it had been painted because a lot of people can't afford to buy something nice like that. My mom had one just like it with an umbrella and there were many good times using that table. You could have taken it home and put a small ad in the paper and you could have made $75 to $90 dollars. Oh well. Stay safe and may God bless. Happy metal scrapping! 🤗
You do get some interesting things. I've lived in the deserts of California and Arizona, and as a little tip, a little squeeze of lemon or lime in water is very refreshing. It is difficult to explain, but it is very soothing.
I like your ideas Silas, you think outside the box. You have a very creative mind and the means to make it happen. You have the tools, machinery and know-how but most importantly you have so much cool stuff to build projects from. Take some time off now and then and build projects, it can be just as good rest and relaxation as just resting on the couch (which I somehow can't see you doing) Please share the results with us, I'm certain that I'm not the only one that's eager to see your creations.
I guess you already got rid of those wooden pallet collars. If not, try to sell them on Marketplace or somewhere. They make a good planter boxes for garden.
Glad your getting to sell some parts and trucks. Shame all the clean parts from the factory can’t be reused as they are, but I hope you all make reasonable money on them. Stay safe and God bless you and your family. Peace
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch Of course it is. Just like everything else. And you'll be lucky if they don't try to make you pay more for it, once it does finally show up, LOL.
Hi John hay from London ont canada i love junkyard videos about 4 months ago your videos came up on my RUclips and i enjoy every adventure from old video's to new ones keep posting and there is nothing wrong with the content you post making a blog is difficult when you have so many ideas sincerely John hay from London ont canada
Another cool adventure thanks for taking the time to share with all of us. To bad you had to buy all that wood and stuff with that metal but I know it is what it is happens more than people realize. You could burn that wood in your junk yard cabin stove. And that swing was really cool you should take that home and put it up for your kids they would love it. Well once again another great video thank you just love watching your videos keep them coming.
It's kinda discouraging seeing some stuff smashed or stuff like what was in those crates having to be recycled but at least it's all not just sitting somewhere not getting any use out of it and has a chance to be recycled and come back as something
I know that you tried to sell it, but it was hard to watch that Chevy Viking get mashed! Ford helped ease the pain! Lol That '45 Chev truck is awesome! I'd be surprised if it (or at least the cab) doesn't sell! It is amazing to see all that left over brand new stuff get sold for scrap!
I love 💕 your videos Silas, they're the best! Crushing that white truck crushed me, as I don't have a vehicle and to see that crushed?! Ouch! Hey are you going to look through cars again like you usually do? Love when you do that. 😁 Stay safe, may God bless you and your family, you've got some cute kiddo's, and happy scrapping! 🤗
1945’s were probably unused from the end of war production. Seems some of those trucks made there way into civilian hands as new vehicles were in great demand after three years of military production only. Military vehicles didn’t have chrome because of expense and glare. Either way, a 1945 civilian truck is one rare bird. I would think the title and tag would have value to a military truck enthusiast, as 1946 models were pretty much unchanged Some of the last civilian production autos and trucks actually came with wooden bumpers in 1942
GIVE CRED TO GM AND FORD TO RE USE THE PARTS AND MERGE THEM INTO CIVILLIAN USE, BOEING TOOK FLYABLE B17S AND FLEW THEM FROM PLANT TO ARIZONA SCRAP YARDS DRAINED THE FUEL AND CRUSHED THE AIRFRAMES
Shame you can't sell most of that factory clean up stuff. Some of those parts could be good stock for throwing in a lathe to make spacers, washers or stand offs. But all that wood can be piled up for firewood at your cabin. I know many others don't watch your videos with a business mindset, but I do. Being an eBay reseller myself. I see money just waiting to be made all around your yards. Man I wish I lived out there. We could partner up and do really well on eBay, etsy, market place, and craigslist.
You have Tons and Tons of Clean and heavy S/S to Scrap - Crates Full ! Also You are making Head Waves about all those Trees - Yard is Looking much Cleaner and opened up some more Storage Spaces - well done but more to do ! You need to go inside and have a Cold Drink ! Glass Table Crusher - ha ! Great - now You can become a Pilot - got Your Plane already - still Neat Looking - we would not Scrap it - can maybe resold - any Kid would be Proud owing it ! Another Great Video with All Sorts Action ! Many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
Your prices are reasonable, it’s just that some people will want to talk you down if you were selling a bar of gold for a dollar. But you can only do so much to sell stuff. It’s not going so much where the money is at, but where the interest is at.
That old truck is pretty cool. I think I have that handle in the dash of this one figured out. If you turn it it pushes out the front window for air right? If that 's not it I give up. 😃
Salis that was great loved it like your plane that is a lot of scrap in those boxes weight wise I would save for high scrap prices but well see what dad dose nice old truck thank you.
High 90's is almost a daily thing here and common in Riverside, Calif. I just got home from Lake Havasu City, Az and thier normal tempsare beteen 109 and 120 with yur high 90 's at night for a low. Enjoy it while you caan... lol
That 61 Chevy was cool would of thought the doors were worth something those parts are hard to get I used to have a 61 short bed stepwise I was the second owner loved it then totaled it .
Here I am near seventy three, and that 1945 truck is the first one I've seen, heard of but never seen. Sad the stainless has to be destroyed as its got a lot of value for many good jobs
Wow !! As somebody who is in manufacturing as a machinist, thats a LOT of money in scrapped parts !! My guess is they are out of tolerance or the company went bankrupt. Or, they could be cheap Chineseium parts that that were rejected and its cheaper to scrap them than to ship them back. But holy cow !! Now if only scrap prices were like they were 3 months ago, you could have retired on that load.
I wish I lived closer to you you got a lot of stuff I would love to have and that is a fair price $300 over scrap value absolutely maybe someday I can make it to that area great video by the way keep up the great work
I got one of those airplane for free for my Grandkids n they love it n play war with they're Bird guns n have lots of fun with it , but mine has a base n it's a teeter tooter
This was great. Love the variety of stuff. Keep the plane.
I know someone who did that. A guy from where I work one day spent 50K on an airplane kit. He was going to put it together so he did some preperation on the garage to make it higher and after a few months lost interest and the thing sat in crates for 25 years or so and then he died.
Good on the Jeep. Glad you didn't have to crush it. Hopefully the '45 Chevy has the same outcome. Great video
I swear Silas, your videos and you explaining things and joking have gotten way better, Ive been subscribed to you for a while now.
Love the way you dump the oil on the ground awesome!
I guess I missed that part. I’m assuming you’re new to the channel and don’t know about my oil drain tubs.
There is a container on the ground to catch the fluids
Hello Silas! you should fix the airplane into a swing for your kids! Spray paint your favorite colors onto the airplane. Airplane would look new. You could length the airplane when you fix it, adjustable seats!
thats awesome kids airplane ride kids would love that good video stay cool
Good Evening There My Good Big Bro Silas Of Adventures Made From Scratch
Sad to see the Viking go. A decent cab with a seat and title is worth a few bucks here in Florida.
Oh, Silas! Ridin' with you is funnnn!!!! Nothing is ever the same....never boring....what a great show!
i wasnt kidding about that adjustable wrench in that bucket silas , i like large old tools like that
Oh Silas, that beautiful glass patio table someone could have used for their patio, if it had been painted because a lot of people can't afford to buy something nice like that. Thanks Silas for more more of your junkyard adventures! Great to see the Jeep sold and thanks for the handy tip on the oil change!!
Enjoyed watching thanks for sharing. Blessings everyone

When I can’t stomach plain water anymore, I run to sonic and get water with cranberry in it. Helps a ton
Lime water is wonderful.
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch Sounds good. I'll have to try it. Right now our lemon tree is covered in lemons, so for me it will be lemon juice.
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch I'm blown away with how much information you store in your head and how much work you get done!! 😴😴😴🥨🥨🥨🥨🥨🥨🥨🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟🦞🦞🦞🦞🦞
Silas comes along Just as I was about to watch some of his older videos.😀
I have videos scheduled for every Saturday and Wednesday for at least the next 2 weeks!

Hello to your channel thanks for sharing
Silas!! You're a violent man...I love your videos 😊😅😂
I think the homemade vehicle was a little loader shovel , you can tell whoever made it very skilled. good channel , watching in U.K
Morning Silas, that 3/4 ton Jeep is well worth $900!!
Thats a lot of good wood for your bus cabin build
Glad your getting to sell some parts and trucks. Shame all the clean parts from the factory can’t be reused as they are, but I hope you all make reasonable money on them. Stay safe and God bless you and your family. Peace
Can't wait for the brush cutting videos to come...
My brush cutter is on back order 😞
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch Of course it is. Just like everything else. And you'll be lucky if they don't try to make you pay more for it, once it does finally show up, LOL.

Awwww man !!! I'm an airplane guy, and you got me good. Well played, Silas.

Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎 👌 👍
So use the wood crates for battries and alternators and so forth
I would love to and I’ll probably use some of the pallets, but they won’t accept the wood sides.
It's kinda discouraging seeing some stuff smashed or stuff like what was in those crates having to be recycled but at least it's all not just sitting somewhere not getting any use out of it and has a chance to be recycled and come back as something
Yah,no kidding! Those collars, huge washers, copper? Who cares! Use the damn cables!!
It's sad. IMO, he's sitting on a so far untapped gold mine.
Then build a reuse network 📡
It always amazes me when you run the loader your a pro at it man
Cool airplane
That airplane could be turned in to the neatest go kart fairy easy! 🤣
Enjoyed the video, keep them coming. 🙏🏼🇺🇸

Wow. Great technique.
Loved the glass table very cool slow motion video.
Cool airplane
If I didn't live so far away from your scrape yard I seen a lot of things I'd like to buy but I live in Michigan you have some pretty cool stuff

Thank you for another great video. Be careful in the heat. Its 101 here in NW Arkansas.
It’s hot here too! This coming week will be in the 103-108° range every day, but fortunately I’ll be in another country where it’s much cooler!
The BEST part of the video was the Ford truck

That's a Thingamajig X5000 Pro Competition GT Twin Turbo, it is/was an AWD articulated skid-steer loader. 😉
All cool gear but big kid having fun
That 61 Chevy was cool would of thought the doors were worth something those parts are hard to get I used to have a 61 short bed stepwise I was the second owner loved it then totaled it .
Those crates are parts for compressors and the company that makes those parts are all over the country
Man you got a cool job on a hot day.
That is a good project for you set a big block in it
My first driver was a 1946 Chevrolet flat bed wish my dad had kept it.
Some of these trucks sell really well in the U.K. Export costs have got really high recently though.
Johnathan W and Mustie are just sick with all this being scrapped
Great video, Silas.
Those 2 big fans on the cooling unit. Hey u make some shop fans on rollers for shop.

Those various sized pieces of stainless steel pipe looked like future sockets to me that hadn't finished being machined.
Very nice. 22:25
Wish I could buy about 20 of this round steel things I saw in that box. 😀
I know, right? They reminded me of outsized beads for a giant's necklace, earrings and bracelets.
6.5 toppers for the 2002 and up are hard to find where I live..people want 12 to 1500 for them here.
I hope you took that plane for you children.!!!
awesome
Would love to have that dakota... Got the exact one in the front yard..

Popular mechanics build one at home
It's now a115 here in the netherlands
It's a shame you crushed that Viking. Those are getting rare as chicken teeth.
Is that what you call body work that's cool
