For 60 bucks, I want the front piece honestly, even if I end up not using it. Also I think the thinborne has extra adhesive on the back piece, at least I'm pretty sure it does on the revised version. Mine should be in today, I'll probably have the video up tomorrow.
Thanks shane for yout recommendation i just got my pixel 9 pro fold and needed a case asap i used your affiliate link it will be here tomorrow 😊 thanks again!
Ive had that case for a week so far. I like it alot. I never use the front case, i always throw it away....so I don't care if it doesn't come with one. Its been pretty good, I like it.
I just got my revision 2 of the thinborne case. I keep the alway-on display of my phone off because I use my pixel watch for notifications. I've noticed that when I put my magnetic ring grip on, if I move the phone at certain angles, the front screen will turn on, so it appears there is some type of interference going on with the magnets of my grip and the magnets of the phone used for detecting the opened/closed state of the phone. The case also came with a note from thinborne saying "when your phone is in low power, your front screen will turn off when magsafe accessories are attached. You need to unfold the phone, then fold it to activate the front cover." I'm not quite sure what they mean by" in low power", and my problem isn't exactly what they described, but it obviously is related. When using the phone with the grip on it, I have not noticed any problems. I don't think this is a big deal or will cause any issues with the phone over time. Does anyone have any opinions on this? I really like the case and I really like using the detachable grip.
Great review as always. Loving my Mous case. Slapped a spigen magfit ring on it. I actually put my ring high like this case has because it's better for my grip and magsafe wallet placement.
Aren't you afraid you're gonna damage the front of the phone with this case? I've always been a fan of pitaka cases for regular slab phones, but I just can't understand why none of their cases for foldables has a front piece. That's just unreasonable to me...
I am not liking pitaka at all this year with the foldables cases missing the front. Massive fail, Even though a small amount of people probably don't mind it.
What type of cases are in the review pipeline for you? I want something more sturdy/grippy in the hand, don't really care about bulk. Also something with an integrated stand + magnets. Lots of specific requirements but I'd love to hear your thoughts on a possible case with those specs! Amazing video as always 😊
The 1500d will just have thicker fibers which generally makes The case a little bit thicker or bulkier. The weave isn't going to be as tight I would assume.
I went with the thinborne. I wanted the pitaka. The lack of the front piece was the deciding point. Why you ask....I broke my original pixel fold. Cracked the outer screen. I had the pitaka back piece on, but not the front. The device slipped out of my pocket at a low height. Guess where it landed...yup... On the outer screen bezel. It cracked the cover screen. Cost just over$200 to repair. So🤷🏼♂️. I rarely do my phone's. This was being my control....🤷🏼♂️
How much protection will these cases give away from just scratches etc. Like how much testing has been done from 4 to 6 feet for example? What sort of drop tests ....
@@shanecraigtech oh dear, I mean I kinda knew it. Have a thinborne on order. Using the Google oem care which I like. Not as slippy for me as others have found. I have the revised Thinborne case but MagSafe charging still does not work for me. I noticed from this video that the position of the magnets in my case is lower than yours but something is still preventing a consistent charge. Perhaps the issue is the aramid fiber itself? Tested on two different magsafe wireless chargers (15w, and 7.5w). I even turned off adaptive battery just in case it was the phone itself limiting the charging. Anyone having better luck with the revised version of the Thinborne case?
Keep in mind the original Pixel Fold snapped in half in the same way. Maybe I missed it, but there was no rash of Pixel Folds snapping in half. Don't intentionally strain the thing like he did and you'll be fine regarding that "issue."
I'm not gonna lie, I don't buy the whole "the front part is hard to get right" part. That might apply to these SUPER slim case. I've had a case on my 9 pro fold and didn't use the adhesive on the front and it's STUCK on there. It has to be pried off. I don't even bother with the adhesive. Just saving it. And it's relatively thin. I was just using it until the spiegen case came in but I might be returning that if it ends up being not as good as this cheap $20 case
And there's also cases with the front and back attached by a hinge (without an actual hinge protector) WHY ARENT MORE MANUFACTURERS MAKING CASES WITH ACTUAL HINGES
Yes that was the one thing I'm willing to give for this instance. It is a trade off for feeling like you have no case on your phone in the first place. But for nearly everything else, I'm tired of these adhesive strips. Very thankful I was able to find a couple that didn't need it. Especially since the market for cases isn't as big for these phones in general
@@loganniko9109 .. $2k device, oh I personally don't have funds to toss away, so I believe in protecting my investment .. so I want hinge protection and I know I can rely on Spigen every time for hinge protection 👍🏾 .. I recommend Spigen with hinge protection for anyone who has a Foldable Phone ..
In my review I literally described it as being the folding phone to beat lol. Let's not make things up. I said I didn't like the way it looked and I preferred the old form factor. That doesn't mean I don't think it's a good phone.

Does the Mous has mag safe for pixel 9 pro fold?
Pitaka is sending my replacement on September 20th. I started my return for the case and they responded with that answer.
West Virginia in the house ! Love your videos!
Kind of quessed it, by looking at the pics on their site that they do have the same issue like the Thinborne ones, misaligned magnet position.
Aren't you afraid you're gonna damage the front of the phone with this case? I've always been a fan of pitaka cases for regular slab phones, but I just can't understand why none of their cases for foldables has a front piece. That's just unreasonable to me...
Yeah I'd rather get Latercase, they support the front. Or Thinborne.
I am not liking pitaka at all this year with the foldables cases missing the front. Massive fail, Even though a small amount of people probably don't mind it.
Waiting for my replacement as well
Bought an Aramid case from Aliexpress for around 40 Bucks. Fits perfectly, but no magsafe.
Best case solution for Fold 9 Pro. Very thin and robust.

I generally don't look at bigger bulkier cases because I just don't like them lol. My opinions on them won't be super useful to people.
I have both 600D AND 1500D and i actually like the look of the 1500D better. I have dropped and banged up both and they have held of great.

@@shanecraigtech Thanks brother. Aramid type cases are the way to go.
The ring looks to be in the wrong location for it to be compatible with magsafe chargers
I never put the front on my foldables, HATE IT...Gesture along is a mess with it. Also, Pitaka cases are not in stock on their website
Does the case make it easier to open? I'm using a pitaka on my fold 6 and it does help with that. (I'm sending back the fold 6)
when you pull the magsafe attachment off from the case, does the case pull off the phone a little?
This was resolved with that strip of adhesive I added
Do you know why they dont have the other designs like they do for the iphone and samsung phones?
Likely due to volume

Shock absorption is definitely not the strong suit of something like an aramid fiber. Think of this more like a very durable skin.

Leather Skin & install your own magsafe ring FTW :)
So is your thinborne the gen1 before they start shipping out the new version with correct magsafe location?
Yes. Both of these cases are wrong.

I love my UAG Plyo Clear Case , try to test
Is the front piece an absolute necessity?
Not for me
You and Pitaka case I wouldnt buy one because its too expensive and really thin and I feel like it wouldnt survive a drop test
We need a thin case that also offers hinge protection. That Jerry rigs video bend test has got be paranoid
Yes I have insurance on my phone but I’m not eager to use it

get insurance and just enjoy the phone :) adding all this bulk to the phone makes it to hard to use imo
If you are dumb enough to bend a foldable phone in reverse then you should just buy a traditional candy bar phone and call it a day
