I listened to the game on radio but tuned into TV to watch the OT, and holy balls am I glad I did. One of the most entertaining OTs I've seen in a long time
was it really? It wasnt the best ive seen, not even close. It was an above average overtime, sure but its a bit overrated by you leaf homers eh

Everyone is talking about how fun that ot was and I am jealous of them because as a rangers fan I was straight up naseous until the last 5 seconds that was stressful

Exactly.. It becomes fun after we win & think back, but during the OT I’m squeezing my couch every time the Leafs shoot..
Esp after Shesterkin came out to clear the puck, stopped at the blue line, save about 30 feet out, just missed an open net & then a pass across to a wide open Matthews while being screened & Shesterkin makes another unbelievable save! Followed by Mika getting gloved & Panarin ending it! Too much in just 30 seconds.. 🥵
So unbelievably fun to watch

2. The Bread Man, Artemi Panarin, has to be one of the best Free Agent Signings in Rangers & NHL history.. 115 Games as a Ranger, 50 Goals, 106 Assists, 156 Points! 🔥😰🤭🚨
Yes, 156 Points in 115 Games. Was on pace for about 115 points his 1st year, but Covid stopped him at 95 Points w/ 13 games left. Last year, in the shortened season, he played 42 games & had 58 points. Easily should’ve been back to back 100 point seasons. Guy is amazing!

The 3-on-3 is probably the best idea that the NHL has had in a very very very long time. It's almost never boring.
Are you kidding? Two-thirds of the teams in the league stifle the game by spinning the zones through a dryer where the circle around and around in slow motion and take the puck out of the zone if things get remotely uncomfortable so they can change and maintain possession. Coaching has destroyed attacking (read: entertaining) strategy for the less talented clubs and it's torturous to watch. Granted if you're watching teams like Tampa, Edmonton, Toronto, Winnipeg, (and others, don't start screaming at me that I didn't include your team please) where there is actually elite forward skill and a coaching staff that will let them loose then yes, it does get entertaining but for the rest of the league it's just painful to watch.

No, it's not hockey. I'd so much rather have one 20 minute 5 on 5 OT. I want to know who the best hockey team is, not who the best pee wee hockey rules team is. I also hate the shootout though. I do understand why they changed it but it's just not hockey.
@@2buxaslice the players association would never allow them to play up to 20 extra min every game. It's either this or ties at this point

Get used to this Igor, this is how we rode Lundqvist for 15 seasons til we literally broke his heart.
Igor moves the puck much better. That was one thing Hank didn’t help out much with. We have some good young ones if we can keep them it might be something good sometime soon.

holy sh1t that was insane
So happy they implemented that 3 on 3 back in 2015, it's rare to see an overtime now that isn't exciting as hell. Every now and then you get those "keep possession" moments that drag on WAY too long, but other than that... Mostly bangers!

I almost passed out about 4 times..
- Matthews chips one just over the net
- Shesterkin turnover, save about 30 feet out
- puck slides off Matthews stick w/ a wide open net
- another pass across to a wide open Matthews w/ Shesterkin screened & he darts across & makes another unbelievable save
- Mika gets gloved

Having finally seen this ending, I dont feel bad. Every bounce has been going against us to start this year. Campbell should have had that OT goal though.
The Leafs outplayed the Rangers the entire game and ran into a hot goaltender. This game is just proof that sometimes things just don't go your way. Boy, was it exciting though.
Seems like every game for the leafs nowadays. These random ass goalies turn into vezina winners only against the leafs it seems like.

As a huge Rangers fan I am happy we won but we had no business winning that game. They played a terrible game and Shesterkin bailed them out. They need to improve!
Take it, come April it doesn't matter how you got the points. For most of his 15 seasons it was "They played a terrible game and -Shesterkin- Lundqvist bailed them out" Classic Ranger hockey.

Generally speaking, Trouba should be kept on the bench as much as possible; specifically speaking, Trouba should remain on the bench whenever it’s 3-on-3 OT: he’s slower than a slug and other teams know that and exploit it.
As a Ranger fan Trouba is my least favorite player.In fact for the money he gets he's Horrible!Can't stickhandle or put shots from the point on net.Not the best hitter,Lindgren is and rarely fights,not intimidating.
