It’s interesting seeing the difference between the edited and the full versions. In the first one it seemed like John wasn’t interested in the game and barely did anything, but here he’s basically mvp with all those quick creative ideas.
That's one of the things that's so cool about new players... they're not as accustomed to what can and can't be done, so they come up with the most amazing ideas.

Liam is the best person possible you could sit next to as a newbie. He bleeds DND and wants people catch the bug because he knows what it's done for him. At least that's the vibe I pick up. ETA: Now that I think about it, this is the best TABLE to be at as a newbie. Liam rocks tho
And he's such a giving player, there's been so many times where something's happened where he doesn't necessarily want it but he rolls with it because other people having fun is as much fun for him as his own. But most of all, he doesn't try to drive the story, he just sits back and lets the newbies take the lead, adding in where he can or they need.
Just realized, that all the "classic" lines from magnificent Dupont Dupont are a reference to the Critical Trolls extravaganza. Gosh, I love these one-shots!
I have seriously never clicked on a video so fast in my life. This is also the only CelebriD&D that I've watched more than 5 minutes of. I cannot believe ya'll were able to catch such a beautiful actor but this has got to be the best one yet.
Great session! I really loved how the players interacted with each other. Makes me want to play again as well.... Unfortunately, no one really plays in my area.
This dude is the shit but it would be cool if he started using a map with figures because there was no indication that the tiefling was nearest the entrance when those attacks came. She was chosen because she went first in initiative. Perhaps a trifle unfair to that character

@@EightThreeEight What do you call it when you have six seasons working up to the reveal of a character's birth parents, only for that information to have absolutely no impact on... anything?
@John F I read the books and watched the show through it's entire run and I still enjoyed the final season. The only problem I had with it is the way they handled Cersei's death. everything else I loved. Could it have ended better? sure. But it is what it is and I was hooked all the way through. Loved it.
How did Liam get sneak attack damage on 33:05? There was no allies next to the orc he was attacking and he wasn't hiding either. I'll take that back cause Liam seems to make sneak attacks every attack what seems some kind of a homebrew rule or is imbued to hes daggers.
Assassin subclass gives you advantage during your first turn in combat, sneak attack can be applied when you have advantage (such as steady aim, flanking, etc)
I was hoping the gang would break the wagon wheels and use the spikes as wooden sticks/quarterstaffs/clubs. But honestly amazing idea by John using rings as knuckle dusters :)

What do you mean? CritRole was their only big hit. Their other programming scarcely ever crested more than a thousand viewers. They were a blip before CritRole came along, they're a blip again now that CritRole has separated from them.
Hey geek and sundry can you do another knights of everflame like campaign I loved that one and I miss it so much it got me hook on your channel and if not that's ok I understand have a good day the geeky crew.

Sooo I’m actually quite curious as to why they left G&S, and if there relationship with them is still good. I would love to see more guests in campaign 3. Especially from the G&S peps. I’m talking about Crit Role.
From what they have said, Critical Role was starting to grow at an exponential rate and needed to become its own company because geek and sundry couldn't keep up with supporting that show plus all their other projects at the same time.
CR grew too big to continue as a subsidiary, that's all. Pretty sure there's no bad blood, they've continued working with G&S folks and guesting on each other's channels from time to time

The look of John going from a little overwhelmed, confused, to having absolute fun warms my jaded little heart.
Hehe for me, he looks like ''do I have to be here?''
Props to John, he did really well. Looks like he enjoyed it, too.
Such nostalgia seeing/hearing younger Matt Mercer and companions (gotta love the twins) 😀

A tip for new players, Dollar Tree now sells full D&D dice sets in their toy section.
