I am also going to be trying to tackle my tbr this year! I really need to get to dear senthuran as well D: As I love everything I have read fiction wise from akwaeke emezi. I did really enjoy the count of monte cristo!! But yes, it's a big commitment. Maybe one to audiobook? It was fun to hear about your tbr! I hope you have a fun time getting your read on.
I think you’re right about monte cristo needing to be an audiobook, in part at least! I am looking forward to dear senthurian too. Here’s hoping we get on top of those TBRs this year!
Oh I actually LOVED The Count of Monte Cristo! I know it's a chunky one but I felt like it flew by because it was such a rollicksome adventure, but I recognise that was maybe helped by the fact I did it on ebook so didnt have to hold the thing, plus I read it while on holiday in Paris so it felt very apt 😂
Gosh, 'Sylvia' has a fabulous cover, shame the plot/character construction is perhaps a little lacking. Yes, I love compression, so not sure I'll ever get to 'The Count', but never say never, I guess... I've never tried Ali Smith, so it was interesting to hear your review... 'Weyward': great cover & title, & it sounds fun, I'll be interested to hear what you think of this one. In Australia we have a thing called I-View (ABC on demand), so I'll be able to watch your brother & 'Swan Lake' when it is loaded on I-View. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for another fun & stimulating video, lots of books that are new to me, & many sound great.
Sylvia grew on me once I got what was going on. It’s an interesting concept. The ‘main’ character is glimpsed through snapshots in what are effectively interconnected short stories. I think you’d like it.
The answer is indeed bigger bookshelves! Such words of wisdom. 📚
This is exactly the sort of support and encouragement I am most grateful for!! 😂

I’m confident I’d like it, I’m just not sure I’m ready for the commitment!! 😂 It will happen….one day 👀
