Lithium batteries are cheaper now. I bought a 200Ah Renogy for $480 USD, an old Bluetti PS70 700Wh power station for $200 USD and I have a refurbished 160Wh EcoFlow portable solar panel I bought for $180. Smaller ones would work well for charging your phone or flashlights, even run a battery charger for tools, etc. Biggest difference between a lithium battery and a portable power station is the power station has the charge controller built in, less wiring.
I have the 2002 Chevy Tracker. I'm hoping to do something similar, but with a folding platform to retain the seat when needed and have room for two passengers. I got a few ideas for mine here! I just got it today and installed speakers in back. Stereo mounting bracket is on the way. I might build a box with the bed as a lid for storage. That would save space and material over a drawer. I'm just trying to maximize space without removing anything. It's taller and wider than my Subaru Forester, but shorter. Still, almost better. I just would like storage. I may put my roof box on top, but I also have a small trailer.

1st must do something to hold the door open...
thats a very good point i need some form of lock to hold it open as in the wind it will slam shut
Mine has a hydraulic shock. Would be simple enough to install one. I put one in the engine bay to hold the hood open.
Solar panel with battery and inverter.
I don’t have one yet this is something I will look at in the future

A cheap camping pad is way better than 2 pillows😂

‘Day camper’ is such a dumb term, every car is a day camper
