      The taxes are so high on the cars in India. Here in Australia it's just under 13 lakhs (ex-showroom). I wish the price was somewhere nearby in India. It would have sold quite well then and also boosted the sales of EV

My Prius prime has the door on the rear right side and there have been many times were I have to park in reverse (which is really tricky in the parking spot that the ChargePoint is in) otherwise the cable from the ChargePoint won't reach. Id so rather have it at the front

    Its better that one should purchase renault duster top model which is of Rs.14lakhs on road.
    And invest rest of amount 18lakhs in a bank for 5 years Fixed deposit.
    The interest generated at the end of each month will be used in petrol expenses as well as maintenance of the car.
    Electric cars are only practical in India when they are available at affordable prices

      Dude my father drives 300 km a day (mumbai pune updown)
      His salary is very good. but we still own a swift diesel, just because it gives great mileage(24-25 on highway). But fuel costs us around ₹180000 per year.
      We would love to get a bigger car but that would mean paying much more than this.
      Electric cars could save us a lot! But sadly no EVs are there in India. I hope it launches soon.

      It's the most convenient place to have the charging port. It's made for US and europe where charging points are already available. You can just drive your car to the point and plug it in easily if it's on the front. If it's on the back, you'll have to reverse the car and if it's on the side you'll have to park on the correct side of the charging point and everything for the cable to reach the charging port. There's no point in saying that it'll get damaged if you hit something. Then place the headlights and indicator on the sides so you won't damage it in case of a crash.

    Tha charging point should be given on the sides. It is not secure at front or back.

      @@SanthoshKumar-ye3sh then why don't other cars have the fuel point at the back or front? The companies know that it is not safe to place it at the front. Even other electric cars like mahindra provide the point at the sides.

    vess - virtual engine sound system ,
    expensive electric cars have this feature , so when you drive an electric car it becomes really boring sometimes to drive without any engine sound so company gives virtual engine sound to make driving more fun :)

    I would buy a Hyundai Verna and boost it off market instead of buying this car. Moreover is wise to wait since it's just the start of ev era . Maybe in future the oruvela may drop or a better EV car might be released at this price

    we need EV infrastructure in india to make these kindof cars practical... all manufacturers should join hands to develop and set up a common type of charging system for all makes and models...

    Am a Tata Nexon EV owner. Have driven this car 5000+ KMs till now with more of highway driving. Am sharing my experience with EV.
    Mileage to be considered for Tata Nexon EV is only 150 KMs with AC on and drive freely like petrol cars, it is nowhere near 312 KMs as claimed by Tata. On drive mode, I get 190 KMs on limiting my speed to 70-80 KMs/hr. with AC on, only driver (no load) on highway. Forget about the sport mode, have never dared to test it!
    Battery onboard AC to DC charging module is to accept only 3.7kW, Hyundai Kona has 7.4kW. Charging time reduces by half and company can go upto 11kW charging easily without much additional cost.
    A Tata representative have been appointed to all Tata dealers to promote EVs. Sadly not the one expected from Tata, this guy also went on assuring of getting a minimum of 240 KMs. on highway with AC on and full load.
    Difference between the real world and ARAI standards mileage should be considered to 50% of what ARAI standards give to EVs!
    Nexon EV has been given only a single parking brakes option (hand brakes), and not 2-3 braking options like in petrol car. I feel this is a major safety compromise made by Tata. On putting off car, it automatically switches to neutral mode making it necessary you apply parking brakes else, the car might move!
    Nexon doesn't have a "hill lock" function, on gradients you have to be very careful, as you release brakes car starts moving backwards!
    On comfort levels car is good. There are minor issues which I am sure will get corrected in next service.
    Tata dealers suck. I bought car from Puneet motors, Malad, Mumbai. This dealer didn't give a test drive inspite of umpteen requests made; went all out to get full advance from me while the car was yet in Tata Motors, Pune. Activated my car sim afyer about 45 days of buying the car! Forget about many small issues like no signed copy of invoice, chassis no. on fasTag, 5 no. alloy wheels mentioned in invoice whereby you get only 4... I have been to lots of harrassment by this dealer right from I purchased this car. Tata doesn't seem to have control on their dealers.
    If we compare with Mercedes who have launched an EV recently with a battery pack of 80kW, claiming only 240+ KMs. on full battery. Tata Nexon has only 30kW battery! Tata should go the German way. After all this is the impression we all have for Tata, an "honest" company.
    They make Mercedes Benz for India!
    By what I have learnt from my first EV, my next EV would be:
    1) 1000 KMs mileage claimed by company (so that I can get atleast 450-500 KMs. "Drive like petrol cars" mileage;
    2) 0-100 KMs/hr. in about 7 sec. in normal drive (Nexon gives 9.9 in sports mode, drive mode is super boring);
    3) 11kW onboard AC charging capability module, 3.7kW in Nexon takes whole 10 hrs. to charge!;
    4) OTA software updates, why should I visit service center just for an update?

    • @josealfredfernandes
      @josealfredfernandes 3 года назад

      Visit the service center. Wait for few years boss, Mercedes-Benz EQS 700+km range coming by 2023. Price is expected around 2 cr.
