I just want to make sure I pin this comment at the top to your popular response that you like the old version better LOL! The old version was never bad, it was just ALL over the place in my opinion with the technique, application and products. 2020 is far more clean and refined and more red carpet ready and 2016 is more “Instagram glam” again not bad, just different!
I also want to do the other style of video with half my face being the old style of makeup and the other half being 2020

This seems to be the popular opinion bahahaha I just thought the old version was a little much for 2020 Melissa, like I wouldn’t feel comfortable in that makeup now a days
@@MelissaAlatorre I like the 2020 version better. I could not recreate the 2016 look and comfortably go out like that. I have deep set eyes and especially that black liner all around the eye makes me look weird and like it's just too much. However I'd make it more warm toned, I dislike cool toned browns like in ND Glam palette.

I loved everything about the 2020 face makeup! So much more skin-like in texture and shine! I do think I like the 2016 eyeshadow just a teensy bit more though. It may just be me but it seems like the cooler tones make your eyes look more green??
I think the 2016 one looks more similar to the picture of the girl, but I like the 2020 version better :)

I remember that video and I love this idea of recreating it! Your eyeshadow now is definitely how I also do mine. As I’ve gotten older I prefer smudging and smoking out to create hazier looks more than harsher lines. And also mixing warm and cool toned shades in the same eye look to create depth. Would love to see you recreate more of your old videos!
2016 eyeshadow look for the win! Plus I’m kind of disappointed that you switched to warmer tones- what I loved in the original was that it was a perfect cool-toned look for fall. People are almost always pushing browns, oranges, burgundy or mustard yellows this time of year, but your look wasn’t even close to that. I loved it, and I want to say I tried recreating it a few times. It was saved in my favorites for a while there :)

Good to know! The brown I used is cool toned tho! Just thought it was more flattering then an all grey eyeshadow look in my person opinion but I totally get it!

I love your techniques now especially the eyes. Very flattering for your eye and face shape it totally transforms you! Love a natural lash or a half lash to accentuate the outer corner. Laura mercier always comes in clutch. Nars climax extreme is my ride or die right now
I love both looks, 2016 is perfect/doll-like and 2020 is so flawless it looks like you're just wearing eye shadow, your skin looks beautiful.
Your eye brows are just gorgeous in the 2020 version. Old version = holiday party. New look = magazine cover. I like them both, but eye shadow looks more defined in old video.
I think back then everything was super structured now everything is more soft an airbrushed looking, even when super glam it looks minimal of that even makes sense

2016 looks waaay better. 2020 looks messy fr. I think the bushy brows and new eyelashes do it. The blush/contour application maybe looks better. That's all I can see. Generally 2020 looks more caked on but technically not better.

The 2016 is precise and color is put in a specific area. (Probably takes more time as well) Vs. the new look is more REAL and enhances your features since the colors are effortlessly blended/diffused into the skin 🤍

Yes! I will never forget that lip color. It was one of the first videos of yours I tried for myself. This and the pop of blue color eyeshadow one a year prior. 😍 I could not find a red that I liked on me, but this plum/blood red is just... 😘👌🏼

Personally on me , nothing lasts more than 40 minutes if I don't.. I use urban decay eden eye base so it covers too
She says that a long lasting foundation is meant to last long and not crease and the eye is no exception so she just wears a long wearing foundation because its meant to last a very long time

Literally no eyeshadow lasts with anything else other than a good solid eye base

@@shriyaraje9928 with the dark lipstick and the cool tone eyeshadow, yes. No need for the bronzed goddess face and tons of contouring. If it was summer and it was warm tones then that’d be fine. I think fall/winter looks with the fair flawless skin is my fave.
Literally the most uncomfortable comment I have ever read as a brown person. This is just literally her skin colour, she barely added any bronze or contour. No one needs to white face themselves in order to fit some weird racist '80s' fall aesthetic that you prefer. This is a beautiful look and she accentuated her own natural skin colour perfectly.

I love the look and you're drop dead gorgeous but I'm not a fan of the unplucked brow. I feel it makes the look more editorial than glam. But that's just my personal opinion of course
