- The overwatch 2 battle pass price actually isn't that bad, unless you really want to spend your money, then there is an option to spend a lot using overwatch 2 coins.

The overwatch 2 battle pass skins are actually pretty good, especially the overwatch 2 battle pass genji skin from the first season of overwatch 2. In this overwatch 2 battle pass showcase you'll get to learn how the Overwatch 2 premium batle pass works as well as what to expect from a free to play Overwatch 2 battle pass. There's also an overwatch 2 premium currency now called overwatch coins which you use for purchases in the Overwatch 2 shop. This Overwatch 2 new currency can be used to buy things in the shop and not just the battle pass. Also the Overwatch 2 currency price is around $10 for 1,000 coins in the United States.
There is a lingering question about whether or not this is an Overwatch 2 money grab from Blizzard, but I honestly don't think it is, the battle pass seems fair, the only unfair thing is locking new heroes behind the battle pass. Another interesting thing is that the Overwatch 2 store has some things that are sold for straight money and not Overwatch 2 premium currency which is interesting. Also with Overwatch 2 challenges, specifically the weekly challenges, you can get overwatch coins as a free to play player. you did not lose your progress, before you bought the 20 tiers you were level 5 with about 80% into tier 6
after you bought then you were level 25 and about 80% into 26
Also if you buy premium you instantly get the new hero, you don't need to get to tier 55
so when you said, buying the 20 levels is not enough to get the new hero, it actually doesn't matter
ah yeah you're right I thought it was +25, you right, and yeah I messed up, I forgot that just buying the premium gives the new hero.

Facts
Each season you get 480 coins if you complete every single week of challenges. Assuming they keep the 60 days for every season.
One thing that is pretty hard to miss, but is a decent source of battle pass FP that you forgot to mention is queueing certain roles. If the queue is short enough, and overwatch wants more players to queue a role (most of the time support) at the top of the role card it may say something like “100 Battle Pass XP”, and if you queue that role then you get more XP towards the battlepass, leveling up quicker than just playing normal games
They give you 500xp once and then 100. So it takes 95 matches to get one extra level. Really not that impressive. I feel you but no

Many people can't see the upgrade battepass option or the shop. I've seen speculations that the account merge has something to do with it, but some people have said merge status made no difference. Hopefully fixed soon. I've only seen the shop in-game once this whole time lol.
Funny thing is, for some reason I had Kiriko unlocked when I downloaded the game. It was likely due to my account merge from Xbox, but it was still weird
The main thing I want to know is, are you able to continue the season and level it up after the season ends like in Halo infinite? Or are they treating it like Fortnite and Apex where you only have that season to get everything 🤔
If that's the case, I don't think it's worth it for people who just want to play the game.

You also get a 20% increase of XP earned from games from the premium battlepass from what I can see. Buy the premium pass early

They should follow Rogue Company in-game credits distribution which is low to buy your favourite contents but good enough to buy new battle pass. They offer free Rogue Bucks from Login Rewards and Seasonal Contracts as well as 1000 Rogue Bucks from the battle pass.

I can farm two tiers easily before I'm bored. I keep it casual and fun, so it doesn't feel like a chore. Gonna enjoy this season. So far it's a good game

I don't really understand. If what you are saying is true, we will eventually be in a position where some players can play a hero that not everyone has access too. Also it is very silly that we gain 10,000 exp and then don't even get an item for it.
Right off the bat, iirc if you didn’t play OW1 or buy the watchpoint pack, you don’t have access to Kiriko. They are trying to move it to a more like league/Val/Smite character unlock, where you have starting heroes, but not all of them. The problem with this versus those other 3 games, is that it’s a LOT harder to unlock one hero. It feels stupid that they are changing this so that everyone cannot access the content, but it is the direction they are going towards. I’m not sure if you will be able to unlock those heroes after their battlepass ends, but I’m wondering if they will make it so you can purchase with OW coins or smth after their battlepass ends
@@ankgamer9567 I haven’t played OW2 since launch so I haven’t checked myself, but new characters will be unlocked at level 55 in different seasons?? Assuming similar exp gain to OW1.. that’s like 300-400 games per season just to unlock the new hero?
@@pikeeplaya from the information that I know of, that is probably what it is going to be. Daily challenges can help a lot, but it’s going to be a grind. Maybe they will make it that the hero will be free for everyone after that one season, but if you want to play it during the season you have to unlock it. Kiriko is also one of the best supports in the game, so if only some people can have access to her, it’s not going to go well. I disagree with the direction that they are going in with heroes, but the battlepass change is understandable. I guess having that paywall to unlock new heroes without spending a ton of time is one of the reasons they might be successful with Free to Play.
@@ankgamer9567 yeah I understand the logic. It’s just another change that will push me away unfortunately. I consciously don’t want to grind a multiplayer competitive shooter just to even the playing field. This is no longer cosmetic loot boxes. This is pay to win.
Yeah especially since kiriko is one of the best and arguably the best support. This is literally the definition of pay to win.

She has a 1/5th of most characters. So buying some like Ash’s everything would take 25 years of playing… 25 years of your life 😂. They’re charging 20 per golden skin, that’s right 20 dollars. Overwatch and 2k are now the two most expansive games in the world.

This battle pass is bad in my opinion in terms of items in it.
Also, you haven't mentioned the worst thing they've done to this battle pass, which is there is absolutely no way to gain coins from the battle pass subscription which also means you have to pay 10 bucks every two month in order to get the battle pass.
Every game I played with a battle pass has some way to get coins so you don't have to pay every season since the battle pass Will give your coins back.
This should be a Free to play game like all the famous free to play games in the world, and if overwatch community didn't say anything about this it will be so bad specialy for players.

How much time would it take to unlock the hero without spending money?
I covered this towards the end of the video, it depends on how much you play, it could be a week, it could be 8 weeks, it depends on how casual or hardcore you play.
A bit of criticism: I feel like the new world videos were more detailed when you explained the game's systems. This video made a few miscalculations with purchasing tiers to 20 and I'm not sure if you answered the question of how long a f2p player could reasonably expect to grind for all content. If you get 60 coins per week in challenges then it will take about 5 weeks to earn 1000 coins for a seasonal battle pass. I haven't checked my research, because I'm not the guy making the guide.. but for some games the premium battle pass sometimes gives coins too, making it easier to continue farming for f2p. I love that you've branched your channel out of new world. hopefully you can excite us about some in depth game mechanics for other games :). Now is your chance to prove it to us before we only come to you for new world, you know? Idk your core community so I may be way off base, I'm sorry that's how I see it.

Nope. You have to wait 2 seasons to earn 1000+ coins if and only if you complete weekly objectives every week. For that, you have to complete all 11 weekly challenges which will give you migraine eventually.
Nah this system is scummy. Revert to making all heroes free and I'd honestly be fine with loot boxes if they made them character specific. Let me play kiriko day one and let me earn coins to either buy exactly what I want from a rotating selection of things or let me spend coins on character specific boxes.
This pass is pretty awful. Its mostly garbage emotes and sprays and some of the skins in the shop barely change anything yet cost $20. And the battle pass gives no currency like most other games do. Usually when you buy the pass they give you enough to purchase the pass the next season which is a pretty good system

playing with my friends? great they are all pc and my pc account refuses to merge with my switch account. even though i play with my old py account content on pc, they dont want me to play with my friends.... there is nothing i can do becasue thay say my account will merge in a minute but its been over a day now and the support doesnt give sh*t about some non-streamer rando who has problems with his account. man i love this game already :)

Absolutely terrible process of getting coins in the game. Not even coins refund from battle pass. Forcing win objectives in PVP where you loses 70-80% time. You have no control over the match like when you play against A.I. Weekly challenges in the game are so bad for PVP, they would give you migraine. Devs are not just greedy but they have evil intentions for you. I'd stay tf away from this type of leech game.

I’m new to overwatch & I gotta say it sucks that you can’t earn your coins back in the battle pass like cod, apex,& fortnite all you gotta do is buy the battle pass once and you’ll earn enough for the next pass if you finish it. Guess that’s not the case for this game sadly 🥲 makes me not want to buy the battle pass now
