Lucky you had 103 dBs. The time I was there (2014), our event was 92. Had my PSE permanently on and blew a 94. Had to short shift into 4th coming out of T5 and putz all the way up the hill. Gave the folks in the hut the stinkeye every time by. Also had a lap where I early apexed 8A (like you did in lap1) but mine was more severe and started me on the way to my version of a Zanardi (google it). My car made a horrible sound and I thought I'd bottomed out and left half my engine in the corner. Slowed down, watched the gauges, nothing abnormal so I sped back up. Next time thru the corkscrew I saw the drainage grate that I'd driven over. Whew! Made a hell of a sound but no damage.
Anytime you don't hit the wall is a good save. Was your stability control on because honestly it looked like the car did most of the saving. Buy new track day tires if you're going to track a heavy car like yours with a lot of horsepower. It's not to go faster but to stay predictable through the session as the heat builds up in the tire and on the track. Buy an extra set of rims so you have track tires and street tires.
Hey! Nice save. Yes, it was a rookie mistake... bet you don't do it again! So you got fade using the CarboTech's? A little surprised but suppose not knowing what you did to get them that way I'll reserve judgement.
Yep! Learned my lesson! Went WAY too wide at that turn. So the brake issue was more about the motul fluid than the pads. I think I boiled the fluid. I used motul 600 and should have used 660 at least.
Not sure how you kept it out of the wall, but certainly glad you did! Would have really put a damper on the day! Luckily all you have is a fun story and maybe a little poo in your underwear :D
😆 maybe? 😆 Lot's of other mods coming before I think about a bigger turbo. Such as... Rear differential inserts, adjustable upper control arms, ignition coils, downpipe, KW coilovers, better tires, etc. Etc. Dialing in the handling is more important than speed/power at the moment. I'm already at around 500hp and getting 3.5 second 0-60 runs so... I'm good with stock turbo for now. 😎
@@midlifemods Yeah no I get what your saying its just I remember you saying you might want to go big turbo at Summerfest this is Cyrus btw I was with my two friends that came up to you. Also I forgot that you don't have a downpipe if you got that and went stage 2 e85 you'd be making even more power
@st33d57 what's up Cyrus?! Yeah man, you're right. I do want a bigger turbo...someday. I want to build to that gradually and enjoy the incremental steps. Thanks for supporting the channel! And look out for your summer fest video! 😎
The car understeers so badly at high speed. I think the only way to compensate is to drive more aggressively with the steering. Watch Largus videos to get some ideas.
I wasn't. It was in sport mode. Manual mode isn't actually full manual. It still downshifts when floored and upshifts at red line. So could I benefit from downshifts while breaking? Sure. But I wanted to learn the track first. Remember, this was my first time there.
Nice content man, thanks for sharing. Very brave on street rubber! Just wondering whether you have TCS disabled on the track?
Thanks for watching. Yes, traction control was completely off during the drift. I turned it to sport mode after because I got chicken. 😂

Excellent save. The wall on the left was coming up fast and you avoid it. I think the tires are trying to talk to you.
Excellent Save!!
Thanks!
Great save! Great day! Great people! Was great to hang and do some serious driving with you. Need to schedule some time to do it again.
I agree on all accounts!
That was a great save!!!! perfect!!!!!!
Awesome driving and a good save!
definitely a little bit of both, but driver skill took control for sure!

Traction control was 100% off. Thanks for the advice 🙏
@@midlifemods I tell my students until someone is pay you to drive their car, you leave the nannies ON.

Lemme guess your thinking about big turbo?

@@midlifemods Of course, your the main creator I watch now for car and s4 vids, cant wait for the Summerfest video
I shoulda put some e85 in the tank that day. It’s another level.

Yeah, the tires didn't help much either. Thanks for the tip, and thanks for watching!
why are you driving in full automatic mode. you have paddles
