As actors I think they're both terrific, however; it's very clear that Baker isn't speaking with a natural New Zealand accent, most Americans struggle with replicating that accent as well as the Australian accent, that makes it sound just a tad corny for me, but otherwise I don't mind his clone voice, I think they're both great.
That's the main issue I have with Barker's performance really, he hones in on a more Australian sounding accent similar to his Numbah 4 performance from KND. Other than that he's a fantastic voice actor and differentiates the personality of so many Clone characters flawlessly.
This was always my problem with Baker's clone voice. He's good at giving them all personality, but Morrison's voice is distinct because 1. NZ accent is very different from Australian; 2. Morrison is Maori, and a lot of his words have more of a natural accent to them. Listen to how he pronounces words like "Boba" and "Tatooine".
I wish we had both. You can notice Dee having a different voice for some clones like Fives and Echo you can really hear the difference. Which means having both could make sense in the continuity
I wish it would’ve been an option to switch between both, mix them in, or just how it is in the real game. From what I have seen, I don’t think you’re in the minority. I would’ve liked to play it with Morrison as the clones to see what he could do with it. It’s the closest to the movies because that’s what they were supposed to sound like but they didn’t get every actor from the movies to voice the characters.
As a kiwi who hears this accent everyday and has it myself, I can hear a few differences in pronunciation, but Dee Bradley Baker does an awesome job nonetheless. It’s a hard accent to get right.
They're both amazing and it's honestly so cool that the voices match the media they're used in somehow. In my opinion, there is no *better* one but DBB fits TCW very well and Temuera fits the movies and Republic Commando very well. It's something about the tone in whatever they're performing in.
Nothing wrong with that show either. It's all on Disney Plus now so you can watch it whenever you want! We can celebrate all things Star Wars. Everyone's got a place in it, whether canon or not!! :DD

Yeah but they're also soldiers and "heroes" of the Republic. They should sound more friendlier and laid back, like real life soldiers. Especially when giving relief and aid to planets in need. You need that friendly, amicable-type of voice, especially if you're to stand apart from your enemies in the conflict. @@ThatGenericPyro We'll see Tem back as Cody hunting down Obi-Wan in the upcoming Kenobi show. Or some sort of live action clone portrayal in general. Can't wait!
For me Dee Bradley will always be the voice of the Clones, and Temeuera the voice of Jango and Boba (i know Boba is a Clone but lets just say Boba has a genetic variation)
This is what is so fascinating about these two. The Clones have had several VA's, Andre Sogliuzzo (2003 Clone Wars), David Boat (SWBFII 2005), Andrew Chaikin (ROTS: The Video Game), and Andre does a very good job portraying ARC Troopers, but none of them have what Baker and Morrison have. I think they both do wonderful jobs portraying a specific facet of the Clones, and could do a great job portraying the other. We've seen Baker's more cold and sterile acting in the Bad Batch, and just from Boss' delivery in Republic Commando, there is no doubt in my mind that Morrison could reach that lively range that Baker did. My personal preference is Morrison, but I understand why people prefer Baker, because so did I for the longest time. (also, if you wanna be really technical, the first Clone actor was Jeremy Bulloch, the actor for Boba Fett before the remaster with Temuera's voice)
Dee Bradley Baker's voice is perfect for the clone wars series, especially since the first couple seasons was broadcasted on cartoon network to a much younger audience. But temura voice is simply iconic. I wished it was his voice used for the clones in EA's Battlefront 2. Temura's voice is like the masterchief voice actor of star wars imo
I liked morrison’s voice more because he gives The clones this passive aggressive tone and killervoice. Which is suiting since they’re basically replicas of jango, which is a stonecold killer. Dee’s voice sounds more forced IYKWIM
They're clones of jango but that doesn't mean they would have the same personality as him. Which is why baker is the best voice for the clones since he gives them all unique personalities, and well i mean, Baker is THE person who made most people fall in love with clones in the first place.
Temuera to me is the clones, whenever I used to read the clone wars volumes I heard his voice when reading clone dialogue, he really fits the idea of a efficient and cold soldier when reading, yet sometimes having feeling like in the 501st journal. It’s why I liked the idea of the clones being so dedicated as they were trained from brith to follow orders and when order 66 came, they simply obeyed. I enjoyed Baker in TCW but for me it’s Temuera
I respect that. Did you grow up with the Clone Wars books or was it just your first foray into that specific era of SW? I grew up with TCW so for me it's Dee all the way but it's also because he just has that more lighthearted, laid back and welcoming vibe to him -- which soldiers should also embody I feel. Especially whenever they're assigned to give relief and aid to planets in need. It helps to have that more affable presence, to represent the Republic in such a positive light and to further win over all the systems from the CIS, their enemies, as a result. Being menacing, intimidating, cold, etc, to me kind of hurts that objective during a war, namely for the Republic since they're supposed to be the "good guys" of that era in time. I still love Tem as the clones too, but he's a perfect fit as an undeniable, stone cold badass killer/bounty hunter/mercenary like the Fetts! :)
@@Vandicoup I grew up in the 2000s so I had both growing up. I read the Republic comics at 5 and watched the 2003 series at 4 and by 8 yrs old TCW came out. But from 4-8 I had plenty of star wars games under my belt as well as a hoard of figures lol
I want Morrison as Jango and Boba Baker is the ultimate clone voice imo. It is UNREAL how crazy talented he is at the clone voices. I often get completely immersed in the shows and totally forget that each clone is the same VA, because he makes every single one have a different texture and character to their voice. It really blows my mind sometimes. When I'm like, I just listened to 5 characters with the same VA have a conversation but completely forgot because they're all unique and have their own voice. His voice work has really shined in Bad Batch. Personally my favorite clone voices of all time are Hunter and Rex
Baker is what the clones are now. Morrison's clones from the prequels and the games aren't how the clones are anymore, and haven't been since the clone wars. Baker gave them their soul and their personality. Making them all sound unique even though they're clones, while morrison just sounds the same and acts the same in every single clone. Not that he's bad as the clones, but I think i can safely say that the majority of the fanbase and even the majority of lucasfilm favor Baker over Morrison, for clones at least. Which is also why they chose to have both morrison and baker in battlefront 2, morrison as boba, and baker as the clones. It would be pretty odd and jarring at this point in star wars to see someone like rex or the bad batch be voiced by morrison. It would just feel wrong.
@@cecelpaso1144 i think you’re misinterpreting the concept of what the clone army was intended to be. The prequel films portray them perfectly as identical soldiers bred for loyalty and to wage war. Baker’s voice acting obviously builds onto them and adds personality to them in the clone wars, but it’s not to take away from Morrison’s work as he made them the gritty, calculated force that they were intended to be shown as
@@vetarlittorf1807 What you said doesn't contradict what he typed. He said "even the majority of Lucasfilm favor Baker over Morrison, for clones at least. Now, I could be wrong however there weren't any clones in the Mandalorian besides Boba Fett who CEC EL Paso pointed out is played by Morrison. Morrison doesn't play the clones now he voices/plays Boba Fett though. His voice suits Boba Fett more than it does the Clones now.
It's better to work with an accent you're already comfortable with because when it comes down to it what's important is nailing down the actual acting of the scene. His clones have character and portray a wide range of emotions, as good as his prep work can be there's always going to be people scrutinizing his accent regardless so it's more effective to make your audience focus on your acting instead.
no dbb is better in the clone wars by far temuera would not fit the clones and make them boring and not unique no emiton would the clones have then but dbb is very good in tcw
I think it’s say to safe that without ether of theses two actors the clones and Fetts would lose a lot of what made them special and unique than just mere copy/paste soldiers... which makes me realize something, clones have more individuality when they are all supposed to be the same, while Stormtroopers are all supposed to be different from each other but all feel exactly the same... weird.
Well clones were born into it but stormtroopers sign up willingly so stormtroopers all come in with a similar desire or disposition towards the empire whereas clones have it told to them. The clones have opportunity to grow reject or accept the teaching they’ve been given stormtroopers wanted it so they might want to conform harder.
@@AJJ129 also clones were bred into soldiers under a benevolent republic, Stormtroopers more often than not forced into servitude under an oppressive empire. having your will broken instead of it being what you want to do (and they were bred to want to) generally discourages individuality. though both are kinda bad, the clones dont see it as bad. its what they know.

Dee's clone voice is a tone that the cool guys have in movies and Temura's has that rugged and dirty tone for the clones who've been in battle for a long time.

With all due respect to Temuera Morrison (whose performance I really enjoyed) I have to give props to Dee Bradley Baker. Morrison only had to sound like himself but Baker had to sound as much like Baker as possible and he did a pretty good job of it.
Its a bit strange for me that Dice decided to give Boba and clones a different voice especially that Temeura Morrison never voiced Boba before 2004 special edition DVD but for me completly mistake was in Republic Commando that every clone have different voice

Baker did a whole lot more than Morrison Not only did Baker voice the Captains and Commanders he also voiced every other clone trooper in the animated series
I think I like DBB's clone voices more than Morrison's because the clone wars show allowed for more emotions to be shown in the clones than the movies did. Clones originally weren't supposed to be human to the ridiculous amount TCW showed. Yeah some of them had personality, small differentiating personalities, but they were literally killing machines created for the republic, an army of Jango Fetts, no more, no less.

Temura's voice is like the masterchief voice actor of star wars imo

Yep. And it's on Disney+ finally, so you guys can watch it anytime you want. I love that we can have it all. Star Wars is amazing. :)
I liked morrison’s voice more because he gives The clones this passive aggressive tone and killervoice. Which is suiting since they’re basically replicas of jango, which is a stonecold killer. Dee’s voice sounds more forced IYKWIM
Reminder how Jango shot a clone once, since they weren't as stone cold like him to shoot themselves
Forced because he gives them personality? Lmao...
The last bit of this long comment's pretty dumb tbh as that's really not the case.
@@u121386 i mean the forced accent he put on them
They're clones of jango but that doesn't mean they would have the same personality as him.

It really blows my mind sometimes. When I'm like, I just listened to 5 characters with the same VA have a conversation but completely forgot because they're all unique and have their own voice.
His voice work has really shined in Bad Batch. Personally my favorite clone voices of all time are Hunter and Rex

I'm sorry, as much as I love Dee Bradley Baker, Temuera Morrison is everything the clones are supposed to be and fits in every possible way.
Also I met cliff Curtis at Motion Entertainment centre (fun park) and he was with his son.
@@cecelpaso1144 The Mandalorian says otherwise.

Idk why DBB went for an Aussie accent instead of Kiwi like Temuera's
It's better to work with an accent you're already comfortable with because when it comes down to it what's important is nailing down the actual acting of the scene. His clones have character and portray a wide range of emotions, as good as his prep work can be there's always going to be people scrutinizing his accent regardless so it's more effective to make your audience focus on your acting instead.
It’s like a combination of Aussie and kiwi
Clone Cutup uses Irish accent
They could have gone the TCW cartoon route and gave Cody an American accent.
no dbb is better in the clone wars by far temuera would not fit the clones and make them boring and not unique no emiton would the clones have then but dbb is very good in tcw
