- Back to Derrycunnihy and Galways Bridge where this time we cross the road and head on a beautiful woodland walk to Lord Brandons Cottage.
A quieter route away from the main tourist areas with room for a good number of cars at Derrycunnihy Church.
Another hike in the Killarney National Park in the Southwest of Ireland.
While most of the path is ok, some sections, especially coming down from the road can be very slippery, especially at this time of the year when covered in leaves.
I’ve been asked twice when this walk was done , 11 November 2023. Also keep in mind the Autumn colours seemed to go on later this year.

I liked the boat on the boat on the lake, a great sense of perspective to the mountains. Makes you realise how small and insignificant we humans are.!

Eddie, that first waterfall was easily worth half an hour (and a cool picture)👍 Some beautiful old oak trees🌳🌳and gorgeous colours. It is great to among trees when there is so little of them out on the mountainside. Loved the sense of scale with the mountain rising behind the lake. The best type of sensory overload👍
Thanks Gerry, it’s a really nice area and the few times I’ve been there it’s always been quiet, although I would avoid peak season tbh. I do often wonder what the place must have looked like with trees up on the mountains alright, must have been some sight. 👍🏻

It sure was Darren, and yea, the osmo managed the darkness of the woodland pretty well, I’m still over exposing in the brighter areas, but think I have that figured out now. 👍🏻
Wonderful video Eddie. I’ve done this walk many times as part of the Kerry Way. A cottage was built for queen Victoria right beside your ‘mushroom’ cascade in case she wanted a cup of tea 😂. No sign of it today but cottage ruins behind it were labourer cottages I think as well as an iron furnace. That mushroom shot is absolutely amazing!!

Eddie thanks so much for these 2 videos, I have parked at the church and photographed the falls by the bridge but never ventured away from it . Looking forward to exploring now .

Class Eddie. Mushroom shot is brilliant. Colours are amazing, had something similar in Wicklow. Difficult to get a decent shot, with so much going on.
hiya Patrick, thanks. I don't usually setup the tripod but had it inverted and all this time, so it was a nice change. Of course I'd do some things different looking at it now,, but I'm not sure that shot will ever again present itself. We've been lucky with the colour alright this autumn...

@@kieranhayesphotography haha,,, with the weather the way its gone, you'll have the added benefit of having the heart attack AND getting soaking wet at the same time... I cut out the heart attack bits for the most part when I do the vids.. 😉

It’s so hard to pick a favorite of your videos and photos but this one is right up there! I agree with other comments that the mushroom shot is brilliant! So simple and so special!
