    Hi ! Thanks for the tutorial ! Unfortunately, for me, it is not that easy to use... Everytime I use the root bone to bend the knees of my character, it bends the knees on the other way (the inside of the knees become the real knees), one at 20 chances, I can get them to bend in the right way. Is there a way to force them to bend to the right, just like your character?

    Great tutorial! Walks are hard to design but Moho bones make it much easier. Sometimes I like using character creator and then going in to the vector layers and changing them to my own character. That way the bones and walk cycle are already in the layers. Do you know if there is a way to add your own options into the character builder. For example Draw a head shape or different eyes... That would make character designing even easier.

  • @JustoShowCartoons

    I did this in 11 and my bones are going opposite ways. Any clue on how to fix it or the cause?

    • @McCoy_Buck
      @McCoy_Buck  7 лет назад

      JustoShow 2 things to double check always. making sure you targeted the bone in the proper order and that you bone parenting is set up right. also 3. making sure no bone strength is turned on, on the target bone itself

    I can mimic that perfectly... but when I go to frame 1, I am no longer able to manipulate the root bone like I am at frame 0. After frame 0, I am only able to move the target bone.

    Setting it up is still a pain. Every time I make a target bone, the entire rig freaks out and I have no idea how to fix it.
    This feature is so useful I just have to use it, but each time it ends up with a broken rig.

    • @McCoy_Buck

      Make sure you have checked and double checked these two things.
      1. No Bone Parenting
      2. No Bone strength
      After that, you will be good

      I fixed the problem. Turns out it was none of those things. Bones need to point towards the Target bone, not away from it. Considering this is the most spread tutorial about Target bones, I suggest making an annotation point that out, since it wasn't mentioned in the video.

    • @McCoy_Buck
      @McCoy_Buck  7 лет назад

      TheMikirog not sure what that means but glad you solved it!

    • @TheMikirog
      @TheMikirog 7 лет назад +2

      *McCoy Buck* I will answer it in more detail for people who have a similar problem.
      When I made bones, I always had them pointing up for convenience. When I made a Target bone like in the video (facing away from the bone) it was attached to the bottom part of the bone, not it's tip. It means that if the Target bone is attached to bone's tail, it'll glitch out. Next time when I made a rig, I have to be sure to make bones facing downwards to make creating Target bones easier. For some reason also using Target bones disables some control in the legs.

    there is a problem with target bones. i created a stand still walk cycle action using target bones and when i insert the action in the timeline and then adding movement to it my characters feet point to the target bones and do not follow the movement. i also created movement keyframe for target bones in the time line and then everything exploded away. there is so much usefull tools in moho but when you want to manupulate them in the whole animation they are useless because everything goes its way and not follow a logical progress from the animator point of view.

    That's too bad my target bones don't work if the shins have actions on their rotation. Have to choose between one or the other I guess.
