Phil you are a great friend and always helping others out. We won't' leave you but go over to their channel and go watch. The drain was a good outcome, not solved but good to know Mr. Frog wasn't the culprit. Spring brings the flowers, and so much work. Your not alone. I have maybe 2 weeks to get my self going, clenaing up the home, spring cleaning and decluttering, along with outside also. My Daughter is coming home from Spain with her boyfriend. So I am busy, busy. Watching utube for my fav's while doing some office work.

Hope the drain clearing goes well. Wish previous owners would of drawn the drain, water pipe locations and added rodding access junctions along the length.

A pressure washer would clear the debris around the grate, allowing for it to be removed. I modified a pressure washer gun, removed the wand and fitted the fixture from the gun to the wand. I then snaked as much of the hose down the pipe before starting the machine. I then pushed it into pipes and broke the blockage.

Put a strainer into the hole to help catch rocks and twigs, etc, from blocking it; the other option is to place a flyscreen onto the metal grate. it will also prevent pest getting in making a home

Googled……Try pouring hot water down the drain, then follow it with one cup of bicarbonate of soda and a cup of vinegar. Leave it for ten minutes, then chase it with more hot water. A combination of the hot water and the natural cleaner mixture can break blockages up. Good luck Phil

With such drainage problems you might consider using a jetter or power washer to clean the drain.

Phil. Great video as always. Try a hammer (not hard) to move the grate slightly. Then you can pull up on it in one corner with a ratchet. It will come off and then you can clean the pipe. All the best.
Cool to see you have the gear to investigate the drains: waders, camera, etc. Half the battle is getting the tools.

This is the first time I've noticed it but you definitely don't look as stressed as you have for the past two years. The wrinkles are gone and you look ten years younger. And I have been watching your RUclips channel since the beginning.
As far as the drainage system goes you might want to replace them with PVC as they are less likely to rust and collapse. Yes it's a big job but a once a year flushing after that you won't have to wonder every time it rains. I'd be willing to bet that the one in the driveway is crushed and has tree roots in them.
Pressure washer. Wash outas much as you can through the grill, then shove a pressure washer down the drain to push out all the good. Good luck.

Phil Idon’t know if anyone else has suggested that you to get a couple of bottles of red food coloring mix it up in a pail of water…..don’t over dilute it…….and pour it in the drain. That way you will know for sure that you are working on the right drain where it flows into the moat………just a suggestion

Phil can you use a plumbers snake to roto-root whatever debris is clogging the drains? We have companies here in the US that do that but the equipment can also be purchased at home improvement stores. You can but varing lengths of cable (or whatever the "snake" is made from).
Put food colouring in the water will be easier to see

Oh no! What we did to ours is added a heavy duty metal Screen, that we can pull out on top of that heavy metal top, when it gets full of debris.
What did the frog say while standing in water? "Knee Deep" "Knee deep"

I doubt it flip upright again cause it’s been stuck in the mud that angle for so long… just start with the thin top branches first… go for it will save you so much work.

I would just get someone else to clear it out whom has professional drain services as you don't want to damage anything or yourself. You have plenty of other easier things to do. They might even advise about the coypu situation as well and offer services around this. My St Pats went quietly I am sure yours was more fun. I will check the other channel out later.
