No, no, no and no. The Marvel Wreckers are enough. There isn't a need to put more famous bots in there. Those famous bots already got their own stories. Leave the Wreckers to the original Wreckers.
I knew absolutely nothing about the wreckers, until I watched this video. And this is coming from a Transformers fan who started watching the series as early as Beast Wars!
I have a lot of positive things to say about the Wreckers. For one, you can’t ruin them, it seems. Every single incarnation I’ve found in this video and beyond have showed different ideas that make the team even more enjoyable. Like, how they had unruly ranks but a by-the-book commander in Dreamwave or TFP, or even having cover up stories in IDW. It consists of amazing characters, like the Jumpstarters, Bulkhead, Wheeljack (sometimes) Impactor, Springer, and do I even need to mention Whirl? Heck, I swear to Primus I found a fan story that depicted the team as a bunch of *dads* to the Rescue Bot Whirl when not on the field! Which other teams have the honor of saying that?! So, I’d it’s not clear, I like these guys. Dunno if they are gonna show up in future Transformers media, but I’ll be fanboying the second they do!
Wreck 'n' Rule, Mr. McFeely! Wreck 'n' Rule! Whirl's always been one of my favourites, my cousin had the toy when we were both kids and I absolutely loved how huge and alien he looked compared to the already gangly proportioned autobot and decepticon toys of the past. I know you already got enough people requesting videos from you, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on the IDW series. I mean, probably not in a single video due to just how massive and sprawling their story was, but maybe a companion piece to your own contribution to the IDW Transformers universe?
"You know the Wreckers don't call for backup...they call for CLEANUP!" Best Wrecker quote :) The G1 cartoon did have an homage or two to the Wreckers. "Wreck and Rule" was used a few times, which also made it the name of choice for some of the songs on the unofficial soundtrack.
"Wreck and Rule" was never used in the cartoon. The cartoon was all but over at the time the Wreckers first appeared; only five episodes were produced after their debut in the comic.
That doesn't seem possible. When is "Wreck and Rule" used in the original cartoon? Also "unofficial soundtrack" doesn't really reinforce credibility. Hell, I'd say it's entirely likely that many of the people working on the cartoon probably didn't even know about the Wreckers.
From the initial Wreckers roster, only Springer and Sandstorm appeared in the G1 cartoon. Even then, Sandstorm came from a different planet altogether and they didn't know each other.
Broadside did appear very briefly in Thief in the Night, Carnage in C Minor, Grimlock's New Brain, and The Burden Hardest to Bear (technically he appeared in The Killing Jar as a Decepticon for some reason but that wasn't actually him even if you account for animation errors). Whirl and Roadbuster were never going to appear in the cartoon due to the "Jetfire Problem" -they were not originally Takara toys, they were made by Takatoku Toys same as the Deluxe Insecticons, and Takara didn't want Hasbro advertising non-Takara products. There would have been a third Deluxe Autobot tentatively called "Landfire" but that got dropped.

so the wreckers were originaly from the UK continuity, huh. I feel some what proud about that you really hear about the stuff from the UK continuity that made a impact. Good work.
What I like about IDW wreckers, is that it's the team that connects the '86 cast together, as they have worked with or have been wreckers at one point, and that's sentimentally good.
I’d like to hear more about Bulkhead. As far as I know he debuted in Animated, but idk where he came from. It seemed that series tried to homage the classics so it was always weird to me he was among them.
Thank you! I've been waiting for ths one. I have generations Springer and he's one of my favorites! The Nick Roche design is awesome. Can't wait to see what you have for us next!
I never liked Kup, Arcee and Perceptor being made Wreckers. To me one of the interesting things about the Wreckers was that it was made up of Autobot characters that didn't get a spotlight elsewhere like the Jumpstarters and Whirl. Even the triple changers didn't feature much in the cartoon or comics other than Springer. Characters like Kup and Perceptor don't need to also be Wreckers.
The Wreckers also have their combiner team known as "Ruination" as the rival of Bruticus. It is composed of Impactor, Topspin, Whirl, Roadbuster & Twintwist that transforms into military vehicles same as Bruticus.
Y’know, the Wreckers kinda sound like a more heroic version of the Suicide Squad from DC. The black ops group of lesser-known characters joined by at least 1 big name who go on missions with high mortality rates.
In the War for Cybertron trilogy, new Wrecker toys were released, and even though some characters appear in the Netflix cartoon, the group itself isn't a thing. Impactor makes his screen debut here, but as a Decepticon rather than an autobot.
I never liked Kup and Perceptor becoming Wreckers. What was so interesting about the Wreckers is that it used characters that were under used anywhere else. Kup and Perceptor have had plenty of attention and appearances in media so didn't need to be Wreckers too.
These videos never disappoint! I always feel like I’ve learned something new, if you’re taking requests it’d be cool to see an episode on Jazz and Lugnut
Really loved the video. Adored the wreckers in IDW's run, and still watching Prime and very excited that they appear in the 3rd season. Question, a little off topic, but would you ever consider doing a "Basics" video on Whirl?
Always found it funny that the movie wreckers turned into nascars but had UK accents. Leadfoot being English, Topspin being Scottish and Roadbuster I think was Irish or Welsh.
Last Stand of the Wreckers. How it made us think James Roberts was a real visionary until we realized Nick is the real mastermind behind the book with the two sequels and James only simply wrote out the outline for him.
I was just thinking earlier this week that you should totally do an episode on the wreckers. So glad it finally happened! So uh... how about a Thundercracker episode?
I was a fan of the wreckers since the first appearance in the uk comic. Impactor was always my favourite, could be because the harpoon of a hand impressed my 7tear old self. Was shocked when they killed him off. Never realised they brought him back a few times since.
Ahhh, my favorites in all of TFs. These bots certainly have been through more shit than most Cybertronians could dream of, and that's saying something since their all multi million year old war ravaged robots lol.
Also seaspray was a wrecker in the aligned continuity, wheeljack informs bulkhead that he found him ripped to shreads floating in space
In the prime series
Fun fact seaspray was supposed to survive in the 3rd season of prime but they scrapped the idea he was suppose to look like Kevin bacon or someone

I didn't know all that about the Wreckers. This is very educational stuff.
I was just thinking this morning how awesome it would be to have a Wreckers basics.
so the wreckers were originaly from the UK continuity, huh. I feel some what proud about that you really hear about the stuff from the UK continuity that made a impact. Good work.
I've got some more Wreckers lined up for my fanfiction, combining the Marvel, IDW and Prime with many others.
I absolutely love the detail you go into for these videos. Basics on Bludgeon someday?
In the G1 series, Cliffjumper said "Friendly Neighborhood Decepticon Wreckers" - I take it he wasn't referring to this team.
He needs to do one on Whirl alone. Specifically the IDW incarnation of him.
As always the Aligned version of the Wreckers is by far my favorite.
Hi Chris, love your videos! they are amazing... I would love to see one on Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo! Thank you so much for what you create!
Y’know, the Wreckers kinda sound like a more heroic version of the Suicide Squad from DC. The black ops group of lesser-known characters joined by at least 1 big name who go on missions with high mortality rates.
My favorite wreckers are Road buster Whirl Preceptor Bulkhead and Wheeljack
Preceptor isn't a wrecker lol
He became one in Idw Publishing's
In the War for Cybertron trilogy, new Wrecker toys were released, and even though some characters appear in the Netflix cartoon, the group itself isn't a thing. Impactor makes his screen debut here, but as a Decepticon rather than an autobot.
Either MTMTE Whirl or TF Prime Wheeljack.
So good to see a new video
I never liked Kup and Perceptor becoming Wreckers. What was so interesting about the Wreckers is that it used characters that were under used anywhere else. Kup and Perceptor have had plenty of attention and appearances in media so didn't need to be Wreckers too.
These videos never disappoint! I always feel like I’ve learned something new, if you’re taking requests it’d be cool to see an episode on Jazz and Lugnut
Would’ve been nice if he went into a little bit more detail about the 2016 Collectors Club Wreckers, but happy that they were still mentioned
kinda shocked that 4 years since this there is not a BASICS on Impactor
My personal lineup for Wreckage would be Toxitron, Whirl, Impactor, Springer, and Twin Twist
I Always Love The Wreckers Thanks For Making This Video There's Not A Lot Info Videos About This Hard Core Team.. "Wreck & Rule!"
They brought him back as a zombie with a harpoon hand in G1 City of Fear. Maybe cooler?
I remember that as well as he recognised xarron
Yeah. He got the Spock sacrifice ending.
Great vid as always Chris
The wreckers were my favorite faction.
Ahhh, my favorites in all of TFs. These bots certainly have been through more shit than most Cybertronians could dream of, and that's saying something since their all multi million year old war ravaged robots lol.
All of them are great!!!
