I don’t like these “on loan” reviews. I’ve noticed that when you do these you have a tendency to not move things with the toy because you’re a good guy and don’t want to break it. I respect that ! But I think this is one of those times if you pulled hard enough you could have got the ratchet for arm mode. I think if it’s yours you’re way more aggressive with it.
On one hand it’s awesome I get to see you with the toy but on the other I feel it hurts the overall review. I NEED THE TOTAL CRITICAL BOBBY!!

It also happens quite often that he receives a poor QC figure rather than a good copy.
This entire review was basically Bobby saying "hey, incase you forgot, I don't like chug styled 3p".
Effing spectacular. Gorgeous wings. Stylized sculpt. Cheese yellow sword.
Shame about the elbow ratchet in arm mode on that copy. My copy, thankfully, was ratcheted.

Yeah, I have no issues with this bot at all, really. Definitely the best of the three so far. This set has been some of my favorites to review.

I think this is the best of the 3 cang Toys Figures.
Either then the lightpiping eyes and the tolerances, this is a great figure and by now even without being able to see the combiner mode I'm already loving this set. Cang Toys have been doing a great job and their setting up to be one of my favorite 3rd party TF companies.
If Cang Toys where trying to make a faithful representation of the G1 look or even a strong G1 influenced interpretation this would be a complete fiasco. I don't think they are trying to achieve a G1 strongly inspired look. Since the beginning they seem to be striving for a look that is loosely inspired on the original character designs and I believe they are doing a damn good job at that. They still have to work around those tolerances and give up on the lightpiping eyes but other then that they're doing great.

Yes the beast modes are definitively Zoid inspired, I own loads of Kotubukiya Zoid model kits and I love their aesthetics so I'm glad Cang decided to have those as an influence.

To be fair, they never advertised it G1 since day 1, it was always going to be super stylized since the silhouette teasers. This figure looks so stylish that for a while I considered getting him as a one-off.
The combined mode elbow mode on your copy has something wrong, this Chinese reviewer demonstrated the same joint in robot mode as an ab crunch and it was ratcheted. ruclips.net/video/vTjtg_S6a0M/видео.html (minute 2:40)
Those wings are really well done and visually impressive.

I know they're masterpiece sized, but the design is such a departure, I would put them on the Reformatted shelf.
Shield mode with the wings looks pretty cool.
In his wings/shield configuration. Reminds me of the birdmen that were in the beastmaster movie.
I personally think he looks absolutely beautiful!! Imo this combiner might steal the show. A real sleeper, everyone is focused on Menasor and this might be the Show Stopper. Hopefully we can complete this in 2021. As always great video.

@@LesterFecto this is true! We haven't even seen prototype of the next member, and the way they seem to release figures. We might be completing this in December of 2022.

Stylized for sure, Gundam-esque...
When I took your perspective and ran with it in my head, I saw a bit of Barbatos lupus in robot mode, the reds reminded me of Sazabi and the wing design from Gundam Wing. I'm with Bobby, it's too stylized.

@@michaelmclaughlin4590 For Rampage, absolutely agree with you, but for Divebomb, no. Wings in bot mode looks like a ripoff from Gundam Seed Destiny Strike Freedom, while shield mode looks like a ripoff from Gundam Wing Deathschyte Hell Custom
Also the Baymovieverse Bumblebee influenced in some of the more subtle sculpt parts.

I was really hyped about this set but something is telling me once combined its going to look too busy with all color pallets. Sorta similar to how TFC Ares turned out after all was said and done. Also since MMC's Talon,I can't help but think any Divebomb should come with a Sniper type rifle. It works with his Character design IMO.
That combine mode elbow joint is concerning.
Rewatching to get a feel for mine, it will be coming soon ish, sometime in the middle of December

It has that Fanstoys tightness sound, but IMO this is Divebomb no question even the uncolored prototype struck me as Divebomb. So I don’t see how the colors will be the only reason to see it’s Divebomb. Quality wise so far they have been top notch from what I’ve seen unfortunately your copy is missing the combiner elbow ratchet. This set is very stylized something I wasn’t keen on at first but they are impressing me quality,articulation,paint etc...I do agree on the light piping needs to go as this is a MP.
That transformation was hard to watch, I can only imagine it’s worse in person
It's a demon arm with the claws looking like another smaller hand underneath the forearm...
Really like the first two figures in this set and I'm looking forward to this guy a lot. You absolutely need to invest in some shock oil for these guys, though, to fix the squeaking and some of the overly tight joints.

I haven't been buying the set but I'm hoping that it will turn out great in the end and that they make it available as a combined set. I'm burnt out buying individual combiner bots when combined mode is up in the air.
Too rich for me so i'll have to pass on it. The three robots combined will cost round $400 bucks! $150 for divebomb, $120 for tantrum, and $125 for rampage. That's not factoring in the cost of a divorce lawyer if i buy them..
Ouch, combined mode is going to take a hit with that floppy elbow.
It has a ratchet in it or is supposed to the Qc this time around took a hit i was missing stuff on my wings.
I LEGIT had to watch that transformation in spurts because of that squeaking. Like nails on a chalk board or someone rubbing a balloon!!!!😖☠😖☠😖☠😖

@@asaphmartinez4225 Patience! nobody knows how this Predaking will turn out, and i bet it doesnt fit in with any other Transforming robots, official or not. After youve seen the combined mode, then you can give it a fair judgement, as of now its just a bunch of individual robots that we dont really know if they will release the entire set. But if you found anyone of them to your liking, then by all means.

I think you may have missed the swivels in the waist for the combine mode arm. All other reviews have ratchets at the elbow. Or it’s a dud copy...

Im really hoping the upper leg section isnt gonna be a major pain in the ass stability wise...cuz if its a super secret (not really) sixth figure, were in trouble with this, but if its a piece that razorclaw is gonna slot into to make the lower legs, im all for it

Do i have to have it come untabbed 30 times? I'm only at 17 and its fine.
That elbow ratchet is a QC issue, it should have one, mine is good thankfully. My 1st copy was missing the wing hinges however. The head/bird head combo in bot mode is stupid. Its a beautiful figure but feels compromised in a way the 1st 2 didn't to me.

Glad you managed to get it sorted and yeah I imagine that was all kinds of fun tho.
They really need to show the combine mode otherwise I can't decide if I'm gonna go in on this set. Like, seriously, that should be a day one reveal with combiners at this point.

I’m extremely curious how this set is going to look combined. So far, the figures look pretty good.
With that said, those tolerances and the transformation process look like a nightmare.

I think the head is mistransformed.. I ve seen pics of the helmet sitting in a different way on the head
That is why I still do not take Bobby's reviews too seriously, he tends to give his opinions based on mistransformed figures. Wait for Emgo for a more complete and fair review of this figure

The bird and robot modes look awful. But the Predaking arm looks amazing.
It's neat but I don't find it as striking as the previous two. Definitely very stylised, and I'm really not sure why they chose the Masterpiece scale for something so very stylised. It all seems rather odd.
A shame the build quality (and quality control, judging by some comments) isn't as good as the previous two, but hopefully the set is worthwhile. Would be nice if they actually showed us the combiner already though.

Great detailed review. I think you are right with that it does not have the feel of the original Divebomb. I feel the same. I think its in the headsculpt and colors. I remember the cartoon Divebomb having really black colors in the wings and head. They should have be more considerate how they implement the colors and the parts. How heavy each part is going to be. I think either they should go with heavy claws and ratcheted leg joints to withstand the top weight. It is indeed an eyecatching large bot maybe one of the beter looking masterpiece bots I have seen this year.
Feels like you could repaint this into IDW Onyx Prime.
On a scale of one (being cartoon accurate) to 10 (Michael Bay) I give it a 6.5 on too much stylization

I think you have to pull the arm fully out to the click to get the ratchet. He was afraid to pull it all the way apart due to the tolerances.
i hate to watch reviewers struggle to transform something due to overtolerance!! excellent looking figure but damn you have to work out just to transform it!
I watch all ur 📹 reviews because of ur personality, and I see y u have the amount of subscribers that u do but personally I think u should have 2x that amount, so with that being said I don't think u gave this figure a fair shot u didn't like it outta the gate, with the light pipping, ratches being 2 tight and so on and so on, I've seen about 5 different reviews even the Asian 1s that have subtitles and everybody praises the bird and robot mode for being proportionally sound(id rather it be tight than loose think 🤔 x-transbots locke)now I don't have the figure in Hand but I think ur 📹 just made me realize its that good if that makes any sense 2 u 🤣😄👍. The 3 figures so far look decent but they are not for me. If someone likes them,great. How hard is it for someone not to be an asshole bout what others like? For crying out loud. I'm interested in what the combined mode looks like though.
Massive TFC vibes off the style of this, I think the bots look impressive but seems to be too much going on with the design.

Yeah it looks almost feminine in the face/head....at a minimum androgynous. Kind of a weird figure, really. I'm not sure what to make of it.
I like him because Divebomb hasn't gotten a lot of love, 3P or mainline... beautiful paint... but, as Bobby says, not sure the juice is worth the squeeze.

@@EvilCerealBoX I thinking this is the standard 5 team combiner from the cannon, where in reality they are going to make us buy a 6th member that did not exist. They are afraid that if they show the “monkey pants” too early, far fewer people would be buying in. JMHO
This figure is a beautiful disaster. Strictly a display piece. Not very functional. He gets in his own way. That with the overly tight joints and QC issues, it’s an easy pass.
The fact that Cang has yet to show a combined mode is enough for me to say no thanks. That’s a shitty business practice imo. The stylization goes too far also. I guess we will see, and I’m sure they are enough paint junkies out there buying this thing for Cang to just keep going the way they’re going.
Great point on their business practice, gives that TFC Hades vibe which thankful I didn't purchase.
Same could be said with what Fans Toys have done with their combiners. Haven't seen anything but a render of Menasor. No how do they combine, where are the hands and feet and size scale. But we keep buying them.
@@erikpatterson120 I'm going to give FT a small pass because we've at least seen renders and you know what you're getting with FT, showing only a shadow silhouette is a dirty tactic knowing people will fear missing out and paying extra to catch-up. You've still made a good point though, when asking customers to invest £600-£700 it's not unfair to get more details on overall build for combined mode.

@@Youwillnotlikemyopinion the big thing that worries me about Fans Toys is we haven't seen any of the combiner pieces yet. Are they going to throw everything in with the last figure and charge double or are they going to go the Xtransbot route and make a 6th offering you need to buy so you can combine the team.

I'm really not convinced at all with this set. I "kinda" like the esthetics and the paints of all of 3 releases but is not enough to make me think about buying them. I don't like the size of them, the mechanics behind transformations and imo the joints are gonna to break easily.
And for Firmament itself, the head looks bad, really bad in robot mode and alt mode. The wings catch the eyes, yes, but the more I look them, in alt mode, the more I think is the only good part of this mess. Great review as usual!
As Divebomb was my favorite Predacons, they REALLY needed to get this one right for me, and this doesnt do it for me at all. Its nice looking, but its an "OC", its not Divebomb.
To be honest. i dont even remember exactly what divebomb looked like. I am in for the predaking mode mostly though
