Beautiful, well made video, thank you for taking us along with you.I hope to travel to this area from Ireland in October 2022 and spend a month exploring on my Vstrom... I did the Picos and the Basque region last year..I love Spain
Video of contrasts, sadness at first and beauty at the end. Sierra Nevada has the highest paved road in Europe, climbing to Veleta Peak at 3.395 meters above sea level. It is common to see future new car models camouflaged, conducting high-altitude testing
Nacho, contrasts for sure. We considered just leaving out the sad parts but thought it wouldn’t be genuine to our own memories and followers. Thanks for the added info about Veleta Peak.
Really enjoyed this video and appreciate your comment about the migrant farmworkers community. Although we have done well and live a comfortable American life, my wife is a grand-daughter of a California migrant farmworker and I am from a very poor family. I know the motorcycle community has this thing about avoiding politics, which is a bit nonsensical statement since the statement in itself is a political stance and statement. As an immigration scholar and specialist, I am familiar with the story of agricultural migrant workers and their migrations in Europe, but I have never seen the area up close as you both have. My speciality is Filipino global migration and most Filipinos live in major cities such as Barcelona and Spain. Someday I hope to travel to where you have been and see for myself the "Mar de Plastico." BTW, there is a TV series on Netflix with that same name. Quite eye-opening. Still, I am glad that you had an enjoyable ride along the rest of the journey. Lucky you for seeing wildlife (goats) along the road. Am very happy for you both... Cheers! :)
Thank you so much for your comment and personal insight to the migrant workers. We were deeply saddened by what we saw that morning. Our mindset was about traveling again so I don’t really came to terms with how we could help more until much later after putting the video together. We pray for a day when people are treated with dignity, respect, and equality despite the color of their skin or the geographic location they were born or live. The Mar de Plastico sounds like an interesting series. More adventure to come as we continue through Spain and Portugal...
