I have always passed over these beach dolls too, but when I saw there was a Christie mold, I looked more closely. I noticed they have non-pixelated faces, even better than some more expensive dolls. I bought the June and the Christie, mainly for the heads. Better than paying 10 times more for the red-haired Holiday Barbie head (which I have done too).
Just a thought about the hair texture... since these are likely going to played with in the water, maybe the straight, slightly-oily hair withstands getting wet better.
I LOVE the Barbie Beach doll line, and I've been collecting them since the late 90s. Throughout the 2000s the Beach line was one of Mattel's most popular dolls, and they invested a lot on the Beach dolls. Every year they released new waves with beautiful removable fabric swim wear. Now with new doll lines such as Barbie Looks, which is my very favorite, Barbie Extra, Fashionistas and others, the Beach dolls are less of a priority. However, I'm glad Mattel continues to release the Beach line. They're beautiful and affordable. A big thank you Faith, for pointing out that all the beach dolls have straight long hair. I too have an issue with that, and I sent a letter to Mattel headquarters, to suggest they make the Beach dolls with different hair styles and textures. Unfortunately Mattel returned my letter, stating they don't accept soliciting. So much for accepting customer feedback to improve their products. I took it as an arrogant gesture, and thats on them.
I love collecting budget dolls, they remind me of my childhood, but usually not the beach ones, I mostly buy the budget ones with the mini dresses they imo are cuter than some of the fashionistas
Omg! First I have to say I think you look amazing I love the new hairstyle and your make up looks lovely. Secondly I do agree with you about the Ken dolls, it seems that they are just reusing the face sculpt .
Excellent review. I am in despair over fashionistas because I always have to keep bodies to rebody in mind even if I fall in love with the faces. This review opened my eyes, some lovely face molds, and even a Christie! I want a cornrow Ken and now I can save some money. Delighted to see you back. I miss your content so what a treat to see you again.😊

Welcome back Faith. Isn't great that Mattel gave one of the Beach Barbies the Christie Facemold? 🙂
Yes! She’s such a pretty doll!
Yeah, so happy to see you again!!! Love your review, I'll have to check these out

Dope review. I bought that Ken that you said was fashionista #10 thought he was cool looking so I wanted him. Still need to rebody him.

I have the one with the June head sculpt but her arms don't go out to the side.
I have the Christie one love her
Thank you very much for your videos! :)
Can you please turn the music a little bit down?
I checked on Amazon Canada and the Christie Beach doll is over a 1000$! Crazy.
Wow! And she’s only $6 in the US!
If you get the blonde with the American flag bathing suit you’ll have a tag team.
True, good point!
Are they molded on straps or bra straps? Hmmm🤔
